That moment where he tries to comfort the dying woman after spending so long bitching about normal humans. She dies staring at one of the Emperor's Angels and he finally learns respect for the mere mortals he's fighting alongside. It's powerful, always brings a tear to my eye.
Also, along the same lines but on the other perspective, as you said, they are the Emperor's Angels. For her it's the equivalent of a Viking seeing a literal Valkyrie gently resting her hand on them as if to say "you did good, you can rest"
And remember, that was the swordmaster who laid his hand on the dying woman. The same one that on the ship down asked why they even bothered saving puny mortals.
The change in art style and colour is for the exact reason you figured out yourself. Grimaldus has more focus on his task now and his fog from earlier is lifted. It drifts in and out of this for the rest of the story as differant events happen and Grimaldus mindset changes back and forth.
16:00 What that Black Templar did is even more important than you realise. Imperial citizens view Space Marines as figures of legend, as literal angels. Seeing one is something very, very few ever experience. To have a Space Marine at her side, offering comfort as she dies, would've erased any fear and pain she was feeling.
I think youre the only reactor ive seen that understood the scene with primus comforting the dying woman. This is primus who earlier in the story sneered at having mere humans fight alongside him. He ended up being inspired by their bravery and devotion and so that imperial guard soldier was comforted in her last moments by an angel of the emperor.
The colors are a symbolism of his grief. At the beginning, Grimaldus is the sole survivor of his last mission, and he learns to recover from that through this battle.
13:42- That's because the Imperial Guards' tactics are to overwhelm the enemy with superior numbers and firepower which is why they're extremely dangerous when they're given additional support from tanks and artillery fire. In the case of the soldiers on the wall, of course they're going to be taken out because there's not enough room for all of them to engage the Orks as basically only the ones at the front row are the ones who can shoot while the rest wait in line to step up and replace the fallen soldier at the wall.
Remember that this was the Third War for Armageddon. This is the biggest WAAAGH! ever assembled, even eclipsing the War of the Beast. Millions of Orks flocked to Armageddon and they were constantly being reinforced, grinding down the Imperium's defenders.
'Never again in life will your actions carry such consequences. Never again will you serve as you serve now. No duty will matter as much, and no glory will taste as true.' This part of the speech is actually rather sly. It sounds inspiring, but he's really saying that they're probably going to die.
Imma be that guy. "Um, actually..." not a chainsaw, a chainsword hahaha Edit: "so take it to them". There's always exceptions but as a rule of thumb abandoning a fortified position to confront the enemy in an open field is a reaaaaally bad idea, moreso if they've got numbers and reinforcements on the way.

Then that's even more amazing, thanks for the context

This is the moment where young Priamus realizes that he is actually revered as an angel. Not just in name only.
Yeh the way he had to look around before showing some compassion...
That was so god dam cute!
I dident know the black templar were... Tsundere lol

If I was in the guard, the single thing that would inspire me more than anything would be when a space marine calls me "brother!"

Ah, I see you've found the first item in my Helsreach Gym Motivation playlist.
The color comes more and more as he becomes of clearer mind and focus
They cannot hear you, brothers!
Such a rev up line

And that he had his glory a long time ago. His big battle is in the past, and now he's just waiting for something to kill him.
Stuff can be two things
