@@TheGoodLuc Fire kills them if allowed to turn them into ash, as fire is very difficult for a vampire to regenerate and they have to actively use their powers to do so if they manage to put it out. Sunlight is the most lethal thing to a vampire in WoD, able to completely disintegrate them, including their skeleton, and sunlight damage is such an agrevated form of damage it takes quite a bit out of the vampire to heal. I even think there are instances where some vampires weren't able to completely heal the damage, leaving them with bad scars. Aside from that, decapitating them will weaken them enough to die from bloodloss, and the natural weapons of other supernatural creatures such as teeths and claws seemingly just ignores the magic that gives them their powers, causing them to react to wounds the same way a normal human would react to being clawed by a cat or bit by a wolf. Fun fact, an inability to cross running water is a thing in WoD, but is also completely psychosomatic, meaning that it only works against vampires who believe in it, which isn't a whole lot of them nowadays.

I watched the old "Adventures of Sherlock Holmes", starring Ronald Howard 1954, and Howard Marion as John Watson (best version IMO). One episode "the Case of the Pennsylvania Gun" started with Holmes reading out the names of English towns, and some of them were ridiculous. "Gildebury Bramble, Bilger's bay, Bigging Merry Magna, Bidston, Binge, Great Binge and Lesser Binge, What foreigner reading these village names would think us a stiff lipped and humorless people." I then started looking up names and...so many names that also happen to be curses XD

Some world of darkness terminology, "licks" are recently turned vampires, in a world where the older you are the more powerful you become they're the lowest tier of kindred by a lot, and they got the group this fucked up, that puts things into perspective. "Shovelhead" is what the sabbath calls their iniates, literally knocks them out with a shovel, turns them, then puts them on a grave so they dig themselves out after awakening.
Well I'm not from any of these places, but in Canada we've got Salmon Arm, Dildo, and Conception Bay. Moose Jaw is probably the most famous, but like... it's pretty normal to name places after the _actual_ natives' word for the area, here, so I don't personally think of it as being that weird. (Also there's a ski resort in Wyoming called Jackson Hole and a town in Tenessee called Buttfuck.)

To put it so simply that I risk upsetting any historians who may potentially be watching, the British Isles are an old place which has been occupied a bunch of different times a bunch of different people with a bunch of different languages who gave names to places that weren't rude at the time.

This is based roughly on World of Darkness's VTM; hunter equivalent. World of Darkness is sorta of like DND but, set in modern day and has like magic, vampires, ghosts, demons etc. It is kinda grim dark but, what a spoiled goth kid thinks is grim dark.
About the ridiculous and naughty names, here if Finland, was to screw with the Russian tax-collectors. They had to write down the place names, and did not know what they wrote. At least that is the one explanation.

Some world of darkness terminology, "licks" are recently turned vampires, in a world where the older you are the more powerful you become they're the lowest tier of kindred by a lot, and they got the group this fucked up, that puts things into perspective.
"Shovelhead" is what the sabbath calls their iniates, literally knocks them out with a shovel, turns them, then puts them on a grave so they dig themselves out after awakening.
Well I'm not from any of these places, but in Canada we've got Salmon Arm, Dildo, and Conception Bay. Moose Jaw is probably the most famous, but like... it's pretty normal to name places after the _actual_ natives' word for the area, here, so I don't personally think of it as being that weird.
(Also there's a ski resort in Wyoming called Jackson Hole and a town in Tenessee called Buttfuck.)

This is based roughly on World of Darkness's VTM; hunter equivalent. World of Darkness is sorta of like DND but, set in modern day and has like magic, vampires, ghosts, demons etc. It is kinda grim dark but, what a spoiled goth kid thinks is grim dark.
