He was up 40 supply after the first few trades. I think the real problem is losing the Templars to just randomly running them into lurkers. If they would shift click or put them in a shuttle or something it might allow them to snowball with like 7 templars gaining continuous value.
Nope! Carriers and arbiters are far too slow vs scourge and protoss doesn't have real ways to protect them other than corsair. Not to mention, the cost of resource and time to make either t3 stargate units is very difficult to overcome in pvz. Templar tech barely comes out in time; t3 stargate would be at least 2-3 minutes later.
Anyone else screaming what about disruption web???? To deal with the lurker contain. You can just literally walk right on to the high ground and position perfectly against them or force them to pick up and move back.
As a zerg player I would like to see protoss use disruptive web vs lurkers. Especially the lurkers in the back on the highground. Not the ones in the front.
That always seemed like a good idea, to me. But, after a patch drastically reduced the amount of time a disruption web persists, nobody thinks it's worthwhile.
too expensive and lurkers are too spread out. plus corsairs become quite brittle mid-late game to hydras so if they fly a little too close to use web, hydras will eat them alive
@Daniel Garcia that's missing the point. I said to cast it behind the first lurker row. That means toss can freely advance over the bridge and up the hill. zerg wouldn't be able to defend the first line of lurkers and then toss would be able to fight on high ground. Reaver helps too, but he already had a bunch of corsairs that barely did anything at that point. Also reavers need a lot of attention.
Somehow I knew from the beeps this [Game 1] was gonna be one of those 2 player map PvZs that comes down to whether the map splits 50-50 or whether Zerg is able to snipe a base from the "other half" of the map. Soma baited Snow HARD with that gaseous fart fleet of scourge into playing too passive/defensive to be able to secure the 12 o'clock base "BETTER LABELED AS: THE WIN". The storm drop was too little too late. There's this dynamic on 2 player maps in PvZ where if it's too easy to split the map 50 / 50 Protoss can aim for splitting the map in half and starving the Zerg out. But Soma made a great move to expand to the "5th" before the 3rd and to set up that contain to be able to get the 12 o'clock base and therefore the win. Spoiler... Looks like Snow, once again, out-thought himself and *didn't* go reaver. I guess he doesn't wanna be predictable, but there's just one teensy-weensy problem. Snow without a reaver loses, hard. Look at all those contains he tried to break, each time *without* a reaver. Snow's brain gets smaller every time he meets Flash.
that is actually about to prevent cheating. over-ear headphone for noise-cancelling makes players impossible to hear crowds and commentator. in-ear one is for hear in-game sounds
Game 1, a dark archon, disruption web, a single reaver, or arbiter for recall any of those would have made a difference. Game 2, I got nothing. Game 3, that cannon was late. Game 4, What? Game 5 Lol. GG
Toss needs a more balanced strategy between reavers and gateway units. Gateway units just can't outscale zerg late game, zerg is too mobile and sends wave after wave. Snow was on tilt since losing to flash in pvp
practicing vrs random is easy. Just get 3 of the best Z P T players you can find and then whichever race get drawn you have the person that mains that race to sit down. I don't think its easy to master playing versus random but practicing is pretty straightforward granted you can find good players that want to help you.
Artosis: these lings arent going to do anything
Soma: lul k
TFW you see the video is 100mins and you know someone got 3-0'd
I thought snow was supposed to still be really good. He got completely destroyed in this series! Game 2 and 3 I just felt bad for him :( that lurker run by!
Snow is good but soma is a better player now
Flash in trouble :(
Nicely done! My hopes and cryings were listened!
Casters talk about builds and strategies !
Leveling up, Bois!
*** SPOILER ALERT***
until the protoss start using more of their tech (DAs and DWeb), they won't win tournaments.
Spoiler...
Looks like Snow, once again, out-thought himself and *didn't* go reaver. I guess he doesn't wanna be predictable, but there's just one teensy-weensy problem. Snow without a reaver loses, hard. Look at all those contains he tried to break, each time *without* a reaver. Snow's brain gets smaller every time he meets Flash.
snow should of used d web and broke the contain that way.
Lol what is this d-web crazy nonsense. Try reaver. All those attempts to breakout lacked a reaver...
Why do they wear two headphones?
that is actually about to prevent cheating. over-ear headphone for noise-cancelling makes players impossible to hear crowds and commentator. in-ear one is for hear in-game sounds
Game 1, a dark archon, disruption web, a single reaver, or arbiter for recall any of those would have made a difference.
Game 2, I got nothing.
Game 3, that cannon was late.
Game 4, What?
Game 5 Lol.
GG
Dweb on lurkers is interesting, i mean you got all the corsair anyways
Can someone please tell Artosis that the word important is pronounced "im-por-tant", not "im-por-int"?
Toss needs a more balanced strategy between reavers and gateway units. Gateway units just can't outscale zerg late game, zerg is too mobile and sends wave after wave. Pure reaver corsair is good for harass but can't win. A gateway army with some reavers is so much stronger than just gateway units alone

Scumbag lurker run by 🤣🤣
Catching a Dragon instead of attacking the nexus is a God-like move
Snow lost because he lost first zealot so stupidly.
To think that the first game only needed 2 reavers to clean up those lurkers, with HTs and goons behind.
dont think its that simple at that level it never is he would ve killed them you can be sure
I agree. Maybe not only 2, but yes use of reavers in general would have helped. Scarabs do full damage under dark swarm and outrange lurkers 8 to 6.
I always though Protoss was OP. The more i play this game, the more i understand that Zerg is OP. Its just hideous and I play zerg!
Still loling at Tastosis trying to tell us soma is on the way to becoming the best player in the world while Flash is loling undefeated into the round of 4 like someone that found a way to wallhack in pro CS legally or how to be a millionaire as a crack addict because his dad has been in the senate for 40 years buuuuuuuuuut.... @41:15 when Soma targets the advancing Archon with Lurker spines... much respect. Not as much respect as he already earned earlier in the match (first Soma vid I've seen I think, definitely seen Snow a lot though if he played on TV before SC2 came out I don't remember it), and not as much respect as he already earned with his name, whether it be a reference to the Rigveda, Brave New World, or something else entirely, but still.... respect. :)
Well, that second and third games were just disgusting and painful to watch... First was nice. Looking forward to soma vs flash, should be fun :)
Was Jaedong better than Soma in Jaedongs heyday?
lol, what the fuck, soma is good but he hasnt won anything yet and if you actually look at the preinterview, you will notice that snow already looked like a beaten man. Keep the church in the town before praising him high.
Also snow didnt know what he was up against and didnt react perfectly nor did he used different units to try to bust it. Plus he suffered economical damage from early mutaslisk...
Soma looks good, but we will see how good he is after he won the ASL, if he wins it...
its not really fair to do that kind of comparison because the game has evolved so much, one could argue that any 2200+ ladder player nowadays is miles ahead of most of the best pros back in the day in terms of overall strategy and game approach
Different metagame back then.

i dont know why there are rumors that he is gay. he has a girlfriend who is planning to get married. maybe you even think he pretend straight cause he isnt strong enough to stand up to homophobic people and structures but as far as i know, i strongly believe he is not gay
your korean skill is great. still if you want try to refine it a bit, it would be more natural if you say 궁금한 건데 instead of 궁금하지만, 사실 -> 정말, 무작위의 사람 -> 불특정 다수, 단지 -> 그냥

noob Swon, you cant win ultra late game with Zerg without Arbiters and Rivers, I learned it in 2003 but Snow is still learning, what a mop
I dunno about arbiters because scourge exist, but absolutely snow should have gotten reavers. If snow had a reaver in the back punishing when zerg tries to run forward, who knows

Soma best player on the planet right now? (as flash is random) Just so dominant
and then flash rolls terran 3 times and does backflips over him
I'm still not sold on Soma's ZvT. He often struggles to transition from Mutalisk to late-game tech. We'll see how he performs against Flash when he does get Terran. :)
@@GrandBenja soma s zvt is his worst for sure .but still very good .last seasons semis against light specifically the 4th game describes perfectly what you ve said where soma had a massive advantage and couldnt transition and eventually lost the semis instead of going to a fifth game. Also his record vs t against flash is bad but everybodys record against him is bad.I think if he keeps his cool he can win the semis(which is like 25 % chance lol )
They are already saying Soma in finals.... In before Flash 3 _0 s him
yeah Flashes R in showmatches was kinda fun and let's say not reliable. But seeing him play it now I kinda have a feeling he has decent chances of winning the whole thing.
I can guarantee that there will not be any 3-0 in semi-finals. :)
devastating! the logical counter is d-web and then recall
It is also a very expensive counter.
@@sir0herrbatka D-web costs roughly 2 corsairs, or 2 lurkers.
Not that expensive, especially if it allows you to gain terrain.
@@7thquark309 You gonna need also fleet beacon though. And that is extra 300/200. This adds up to 500/400 AND you still need spend some more on the corsairs AND tribunal AND arbiter AND recall AND extra stargate (you don't wanna produce corsair and arbiter from the same stargate) AND fighting units. Personally I think that dark archons are a more viable option. Heck, I actually think that in situations like that mind control is not all that bad.
@@sir0herrbatka I wonder how useful it would be to go reavers instead of arbiter tech and just siege lurkers
In situation like that, Maelstorm from 2-3 dark Archons simultaneously - good bye zerg.

Soma is a beast.
But Flash is taking it.
We haven't really seem flash's zerg yet properly, so depending on how the random dice rolls It might not go as we expect, also we haven't seen his pvz yet either. I feel like protoss and Terran have a lot of transferable skills, but zerg has such a different feel and macro style to Terran and toss, and we'll any race in rts for that matter, I wouldn't be surprised if his zerg is still lagging behind his other two races at the moment, suppose we'll find out soon.
Don't forget about queen
@@yeetbra9485 ive seen him play zerg mutiple times on stream and its unbelievable - but im 90 percent sure he will lose to soma. Unless he rolls terran 3 times, i feel he loses, which is pretty unlikely.
