Well, we'll probably never have a better finale than the season 6 (Flash vs Effort), so I wasn't expecting much. But still disappointed by Light's play, he seemed to underestimate his opponent in the beginning: Bio on Horizon, with only a few towers, and no wall on NeoSylphid... those are obvious mistakes that a cunning player like Queen will abuse. I was hoping he woke up in game 3, with his strong victory, but then he got outplayed by Queen's aggressive style. Too bad, but still amazing season, from Ro24 to Ro4 we had the best games possible. Yeah, this final didn't feel like a Queen victory as much as a Light defeat. It's surprising. Light has never been godlike like the likes of Flash, but he's usually rock solid. You wouldn't expect him to completely miss his series like that.
I guess perhapse the elimination of Flash scared Light, making him too much defensive, I mean the style he played today, not the defense of his base. We can see almost every battle broke out near Terran base. In 5 matches zerg built only 2 sunkens, 1 each in match 3 & 4, Zerg enjoyed a comfortable time to develop and expand.
@Duncan he's commenting on the video, you absolute buffoon. why are you reading comments on a tournament video if you don't want to know how it ends? what information are you expecting to find here?
@Duncan Just dont go into the comments? Ive had shit spoiled for me before but I never blamed the person for writing it but myself instead because i went into the comments. It's not their job to protect the results of the match for you, don't expect people to give a shit if they spoiled it or not.
@Duncan There was absolutely no sarcasm in what I said. Just dont read the fucking comments if you don't want the match to be spoiled. It's so simple you have to be fucking braindead to not understand.
The prematch recorded interviews were worth the trouble of reading those tiny subtitles. They didn't just shit-talk their opponents, they even had citations.
exactly he beat Flash on the way aswell if you beat such terrans in non BO1 matches as zerg you really deserve win. So there is no "but if Flash blabla" denying his rightful win.
Especially since in the match Queen was the one with surprising strats, and Light just carried on standard, even on first map where it is practically unusable in TvZ. I also can't remember Light doing any crazy shit in KSL finals, he just played solid.
i agree, not that the play quality was poor, just that in all games one player rolled the other without much contest plus no late game battles, plus no innovative or unusual strategy or tactics :/ my fave was the 8-ling run by that snowballed into a speedling victory, that was a surprise
They mentioned several times during the past few GSL streams that today's Finals was going to start several hours earlier. You can also see the times the streams are scheduled for on RUclips.
Always like him and consider him best after zergJaedong. Some games back in the days he was god but always make mistake and lose it.Im really happy for him If he cry here it be crying with him.Well deserved and long overdue Victory.Go Queen keep fighting.
In the early days of the original StarCraft you could crush Carrier Interceptors by landing buildings. You could also slide your Command Center over right next to the minerals via a bug. Both of these got patched before BroodWar came out though. Yes, I am that old.
Well it went like he said, I defeated flash so ill win this tournament now against a terran. Not to take anything from him though light played himself with those valks and queen executed the lurker bust excellent but zerg pretty much has a free map in this pool with the bad starting positions.
*****SPOILER******* Not the greatest series of the tournament, but zero/queen 100% deserved this championship. He played like a champion. He's been waiting a long time for this I'm sure. Light needs to do a better job scouting. It's like he's playing blind. I started out rooting for Light, but I'm glad that Queen won. He was more adaptable and dynamic Light used the same unit composition in nearly every game. Would it kill him to make a mech unit every once in awhile? I hear vultures are pretty good for scouting.

I'd have wanted a more interesting finals, like the Zero Vs Flash. That series was epic! Ohh, and the first time I heard Flash might switch race, and you were guessing which is gonna be, I wished he goes random. (I did not know it's even possible in championships, but when I was checking earlier ASLs I saw the individual race charts - how many players were from each race in each round - I realized there's a "random" race.) I mean, his terran is soooo clean, it's always textbook play. And I believe he can handle every other race too. Like when Larva played terran in one series... I'm so hyped about Flash next season :D
Did anyone else notice how dirty that trophy was in the intro? Maybe they should have cleaned it beforehand and worn gloves when they put it up there. 😂
so it's all boils down to a map pool - (inner coven unplayable for terran, hitchhiker - weird map, and horizon favors zerg with close spawns) I hope we will see better maps in ALS10

I hate that this was decided on Inner Coven, Light is a good enough player that it's possible he could have come back on 3 maps but besides the last map Queen did great and did deserve to win, just not good for audiences.
My gut told me Queen would finally be a champion when he narrowly got out of the group stage(great games btw), and here we are. So happy for him, well deserved.
Zero is more known for his macro games but he decided to mix it up and play super aggressive in this series which ended up throwing Light off as he probably prepared a lot of late game strats vs him, which ultimately he didnt even reach because zero had already taken him down before late game even became a factor.
For those who complained that this is a boring final match, note that it was solely Light who made it boring. Queen was very tenacious and denied Light's scouting at key moments. Light should have prepared against that because Queen commonly denies scouting and often switches builds mid match. Very dumb of Light and arrogant to say Queen is predictable, so I'm glad he got bopped. Also, amateurish commentary by tasteless and artosis. Artosis complaining about close air spawn in game 1 makes him sound like he is a literal newb and doesn't know how to turtle then drop. Tasteless referring to Queen's game 2 win as cheese, what a joke. 4 pool, cannon rush, bunker rush, those are cheese. Light had a greedy build, failed to create adequate defense, did not respond appropriately enough, and lost to zergling pressure. Just like game 1 where Light didn't respond appropriately to Queen's mutalisk harass. It's like Light just wasn't taking Queen seriously but then collapsed under pressure. Queen's harassment turned into all-ins because Light failed in having appropriate defense.
