    I rarely take photos of people, and even then, they are mostly candids. But, if Lindsay Adler puts out a video, I want to watch it. She's a great communicator, and I learn a lot from her. Enough to make me want to try some portrait photography? Maybe!

    Great video and shots - and it would be a great experiment to repeat the exact same video on a hot summer day that is not overcast - same place, same time, just different light from the skies.

    • @lindsayadlerphoto
      @lindsayadlerphoto 2 года назад

      The light would be different, but you can definitely adapt since its not direct. You would just get different types of bounce, but you can block or reposition. :D

    Overcast weather or in open shadow is perfect for portrait shoot. (Avedon, Penn usually did the same) North sky even better. If the circumstenses are available, but less light; dont turn up ISO.(less ISO more dynamic range 😉) Just put a softbox or white umbrella (fill power) in same direction as "main" north sky light.

    • @lindsayadlerphoto
      @lindsayadlerphoto 2 года назад +1

      Have you read about ISO invariance in new cameras?

    • @olderan
      @olderan 2 года назад

      @@lindsayadlerphoto Yes. Thank you to remind me. Usually i like to put an extra light in the a scene instead post production (without killing its naturalness). I see it more vivid and fresh. But, maybe it's just taste. This video pretty amazing, and the result is absolut fantastic.

    Great video... I thought I was the only "nut" who uses my garage as a studio... In my garage door we placed styrofoam panels for insulation but also for reflection... ceiling is white and walls are light grey. I mainly work with models building portfolios. Absolutely love all the techniques you shared. But I have one question, the model's hair blended into a black nothing. That bothered me, but should it? Is that ok since you are lighting the face beautifully? Love this channel and your videos are always worth my time...

    • @jasonbodden8816

    • @jasonbodden8816
      @jasonbodden8816 2 года назад

      When she brought the background and model 12ft. away from the front of the garage the model's hair was illuminated. If that's the look you like then you can do what Lindsay did here.

  • @michaeldavis444
    @michaeldavis444 2 года назад +1

    Come on you know you cant make great images in natural night . You need 12 prophoto lights and shimira panels. i hope i spelled that correctly. Just ask the guy in New York who does alot of videos for Adorama. You have to cut off the top of the head . oh i almost forgot you need a brooklyn reflector. Im playing . Daniel is great. Great video. Very nice Photos. Great editing.

    Excellent video, just worried about the location:
    A pair of gasoline containers, what appears to be a 100lb propane gas tank in the back and 5 large bags of fertilizer, plus the Ryobi power tools, if battery powered, that means that their should be a few 4Ah Lithium batteries lying around LOL
