I like the elderly gentleman and his daughter; he's completely realistic about getting rid of his stuff, and he's not all mawkishly sentimental about anything, keeping only a very few items that have special meaning. He knows he isn't going to live forever....nobody ever will....and he's smart enough to just let it go, get some money for it.
I'm amazed, I was in Hong Kong twice in my army career, I've seen a few bits that I have and love that they sold, my set of tables are exactly the same, I also have the coffee table and running room able to match, I love them so they won't be going anywhere!
Chris Trianta not necessarily. I sold my old new 90”s game boys and 50 games, on eBay for $60. Nobody bid any more. Now I hear that another person made tens of thousands on his gameboy at an auction. I’m so mad. My gameboy was in excellent condition. And I had a Gameboy case with 50 games in the boxes too with all the instructions. And all I got was $60. I should have held on to it all. But we were moving and I also gave away a ton of stuff. I had tons of VHS Disney movie tapes. Most brand new. An elderly woman came all the way from Manhattan with a wheeled cart just to come get my stuff. I lived in Queens and she said she walked. I hope she made money off the tapes. I did keep some vhs tapes, of rare movies u can’t find on dvd.
Frank was lovely, and surprisingly willing to clear his hoard 😁😁 The antiques expert looking at Daniel's pictures said "some very invaluable," which means *extremely valuable,* when he actually meant inexpensive and worth very little. Working in that field as he does, he should know what "invaluable" means.
This was terribly low pricing I'm sorry but even if a table can't be sold under a "antique" category but are tables so very cheap in UK of such nice quality and history though a short one?! Could have been sold as regular tables would have made so much more. These people are ripping off the hoarders
Btw I'm from India and I did the exchange I'm sorry it's way too little. I've bought new furniture with far less details and mass produced IKEA type stuff for a lot more than 30 pounds! This is really not a nice show to watch good people getting ripped off
American hoarder: *lives in a literal garbage dump spilling out all over the property+dingy storage unit* British hoarder: *lives in a nice apartment with entire hoard neatly packed in a clean storage unit*
But not always so with the British---if you haven't seen their hoarder shows, look them up and watch--as well as the old reruns of "How Clean is Your House"--and you'll realize that nothing is as it appears initially.
Yes, I just had in mind the stark contrast between this and the American Hoarders show, but I guess there's a broad range of cases. I'll try to find some of those British shows, thanks!
My hubby called me a hoarder. But then Coronavirus came, and now he’s happy we have a years worth of paper towel, toilet paper and bleach cleansers. I also have way too many high end clothes and shoes. And I collect niche perfumes. I own about 59 bottles. I finally had to stop coz no more money. I spent over a quarter million dollars on clothes, shoes, perfume, makeup , all high end. I could sell it all on Amazon or eBay and make a lot of money back. I also have a lot of gold and now days gold is UP. I need to sell it all
Frank was a really nice man. He's also a veteran of the Artic convoys which makes him a very brave man.
what a majestic and stylish grandpa
Thank you for your service Frank you're a legend mate i hope you live your final days happy man

£30 for that chinese sideboard was a travesty, it was beautiful. I love East Asian styled furniture and decor.
that Hibachi table would have sold for so much here in USA

why is all the beautiful chinese furniture estimated so cheap 😭😭these days buying a coffee table from ikea would cost more!!
Daniel should have eBay or a market stall
Frank is so wholesome
They would get more money selling on eBay .
you are absolutely right. And Agie doesn't know shit.
Lynn Beers 👍

5:52 he has funny look in his face 😄😆🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I laughed after reading ur comment and watching it
Daniel staring dead eyed into the camera with his mouth open like that was super uncomfortable to watch
I can't wait to move to Europe and fill my place with all that beautiful "brown" old furniture!!

@@Cheiko18 it's really sad. That stuff would go for a lot more in USA
You can't even get a table that cheap from Ikea! This was insane.
Frank is a dream LOVELY man :)

@@VladmirPoopN Hmm, you don't say. To me the biggest difference is that Hoarders is actually interesting and this show is boring as heck.
Lots of treasures hidden 💰💸🤝👍.
I like the older gentlemans attitude if other people get some pleasure from it. Hooray. 👍

I love Frank!!!
Franks auction Sounds like a auction that I sold things at. I basically gave things away
The crew struggle with opening wooden boxes...
He reminds me kinda of my granddad, except less grumpy 😂
made a profit? you can't make a profit until you make more than you have spent!
ty
Some of the frames are probably worth more
"I feel sorry for this man and found the title "Naval Veteran finds Chinese Treasures In Storage" very misleading. I would of paid more."
Both auctions Sounds like mine.
Wow
Let's just say I'm first even though I'm third.
Gabrielle Liger lol
