I HAD TO FIND THIS!! I love this. God is love and those who love God must be loving. Empathy is gone from the world so as believers we have a unique opportunity to continue to practice what Jesus taught which is to serve and love others.
This commercial brought tears to my eyes. On May 15th, I was involved in a car accident. I was the only driver, with my dog safely secured in his crate in the back seat. After the impact, I sat in my car, my right arm broken, unable to move, for more than 10 minutes. What hurt more than the physical pain was watching as people drove around me, ignoring the fact that I had just been in an accident. I felt so scared, helpless, and invisible. Eventually, some kind souls did stop to help, but those initial moments of being overlooked by others were the worst of my life. Once I was admitted to the hospital, the isolation didn’t end. My family, who found out about the accident, mostly texted instead of calling. Some didn’t reach out at all. I know their lives are busy, that their families come first, but it was eye-opening to see how disconnected we’ve become from each other and how connected we are to our devices. Afterward, I had to go through physical therapy for my injuries, but I also sought mental therapy to cope with the trauma-not just from the accident itself but from the overwhelming sense of abandonment I felt both at the crash site and in the days that followed. Through it all, my fiancé was my rock. He was amazing, truly my hero. When he arrived at the crash site, he found our dog. A kind bystander, one of the few who stopped, had gotten him out of the car and was holding him until my fiancé arrived. Even though I was initially ignored, after those long ten minutes, new drivers came to the intersection and stopped to help. Their kindness restored a bit of my faith in humanity. This experience was a painful reminder of how disconnected we can be, but it also showed me the importance of those who truly care-my fiancé, that kind bystander, and the few who did stop. Their compassion meant the world to me during one of the darkest moments of my life.
We're so sorry to hear about your accident Munira, and we really appreciate you taking the time to share this difficult experience.
