I said I was going to keep the truck stock but... things got out of control. We build out our 2022 F-150 Wayne into an overland/construction truck. With a week long camping trip looming, and parts getting delayed, the pressure is on to finish the truck before we depart.

One thing I have learnt from car camping for photography, take everything you think you will need on a weekend test run, when you get home you will lighten your load for your next trip. Have fun getting out into the wilderness.
Great advice!
Becki: "Probably don't do anything that we're doing in this video." 😂😂 Sounds like one of my projects. They call me Two Trip Tom because any project is a MINIMUM of two trips to the hardware stores 😐
Hahaha it’s not a good DIY project if you haven’t been to the hardware store twice in one day 😂
I love how real this video showed the gritty side of building an overland truck. No sleep modding till the day of heading out. Always something didn’t work as planned
Great series. Not missing the chopper (yet). My tip for angle grinders and cutting is to use a 1mm cutting disk and not the grinding wheel it came with. This can turn even a lightweight 18v grinder into a serious cutting tool, so much so some police forces use them as 'universal master keys' because they will cut just about anything, and fast. It works because you are only removing 1mm of material not the 4 mm of the grinding disk. For deburring the bolt tip Google 'bolt deburring tool'. You just click it onto your impact driver (or drill) and one 'zing' and you have a nice chamfered tip. Very handy if you ever want to put a nut back on the bolt end. Have fun ⛺ and greetings from a humid sweltering Australia 🛠🥵
Thanks for the tips!!
So you should be challenging Best damn EDC and Jeremy Siers because both of them are competing against each other with who can build the best overland rig. I think you can take them so it’s time for you to enter the fray.
On it!! 😂
@@BeckiandChris oh, I look forward to seeing it
I’ve missed these vlogs, glad there back!
Great job on the video folks! Thanks for making it.
Great rig! Wayne's looking good! 🤌
Love this video
I love that y’all call this a vlog when the level of production is MILES past what you used to produce in a weekly upload. This is a really fun chapter and leaning into it feels totally authentic. Cheers!
Thanks, we’re having a ton of fun!! The vlogs seem to be shifting into some sort of hybrid vlog/story thing but it’s a fun change!
Cool build bruther.
I am glad to see the truck came together. Welcome to the world of a rigger it takes a Jack of all trades to make things work some times. Yawl did a good job!
Becki the only thing you need now is a little more aggressive set of tires (and wheels will really set it over the top)! You’d be surprised by how much more capable a vehicle feels when you put just a basic set of all terrain tires on, even just with some mild off-roading or inclement weather on backroads! Fantastic video as always, and of course, no matter what you two modify, whether it’s an apartment, or helicopter, or house, or truck, your taste is impeccable!
Thanks so much!! I’m getting 33” Mickey Thompson Baja boss AT’s on this month, super excited!!
@@BeckiandChrisI’ve heard GREAT things about those tires!!
The way to travel. Nice work 👍
Love watching your DYI projects. You two are so handy and can transform anything into something so much better!
Thanks!! It’s nice to have some of those skills in the back pocket, though metal work is a little outside our comfort zone compared to wood 😂
Love your story telling style. You have me hooked the moment you start talking Becki! Love you guys !😊
Aw glad to hear it! Thanks much!
Fantastic video, love how you two don't let bumps in the road stop you. Well done.
Thanks much!
RTT are life changing! Spent two months in mine last summer
They are so great! I really enjoy all types of camping but I love being off the ground!
I have a GFC superlite, same wierd noise on my first couple of trips. I think its the fabric on the bottom of the tent smacking against the inner hard shell. I ran a line of paracord between the tent rails and that stopped the noise.
This rig looks so capable. Well done!
She’s a good rig for sure!
This is giving me some serious inspiration! For what you guys are doing and direction you’re going, McMaster Carr will be a great resource for you.
i came across your channel multiple times through the years on different topics ... recently i've been binge watching your videos and it's been amazing. Keep up the great content.
Lovely video as well, this whole chill vibes, not over produced is quite cool. Pete's pirate skull on the mirror was the cherry on top
Thanks so much!! It’s fun to do the more chill vlog style videos in between the big productions!
@@BeckiandChris and we're here to n-joy it :D
👍👍 no need to change out those risers. Built not bought.
And that angle grinder was the most overkill tool I’ve seen used on this channel. Maybe some steel fabrication in the future.
For sure!! Haha that angle grinder we had for another project we haven’t posted yet but it’s been a great piece of kit 😂
Got nostalgic for fall already because of this video 😂
Omg definitely missing it!
Our ladder racks on our work vans whistle when you reach a certain speed. Not sure if that’s your noise, but it is aggravating !! You might move things back alittle or try some type of wind visor in front of the setup
It’s funny I didn’t hear it again after that first time so I’m wondering if it was maybe some weird cross wind causing the noise? If I hear it again I might try and see if a visor would help! Thanks!
Sometimes you gotta just Jerry rig it together and hope it works. Awsome setup!
Love the series with the truck! Sweet rig you guys have built! I just picked up this same spec in black! Got a 2.5” level and 34” Nitto Ridge Grapplers tires! Completely changed the look of the truck! Love it!
Amazing, I bet that looks great! I just put a deposit on 33” Mickey Thompson Baja boss ATs and a level, excited to see how the truck looks after that’s installed!
Can’t wait to see how it turns out!!
That is a SICKKKKK SETUP!! I WANT
It’s so much fun!!
What in a world, wtf! 😅😂 That's so cool camp bed. ❤️ Hope doesn't fall when raining when you were sleeping. 😂
Mcmastercarr has all your hardware needs!
That darn Atlantic Canada weather huh? Hope you can get here in the summer. :)
We should have known better trying to get up there at the end of October 😂
@@BeckiandChris All the fall color was mostly gone by then too this year.
Temporarily permanent tent risers. 😆
😂😂 I think I’m gonna have to replace them with something powder coated
Grab the Falken Wildpeak A/T 4W tires!!!
I just ordered Micky Thompson Baja Boss AT’s 😊
Im going to be building a f350 into a camper. I didnt even think about using a rack system. Shells for a 21 foot truck isnt cheap, plus i can weild and customize this. You dont even know how much of a headache you cured
The weird sound was probably wind noise as it blows through the rack… I had a similar thing with a led lightbar on my truck
Yeah you are probably right, i never heard it again but probably just the right wind direction!
What a shame you didn't come to NB!!
Oh we’re still coming just when the weather gets better
I’m sure you guys looked into roof campers such as Roof Nest. Curious to know what the cons of that option was for you guys?
We wanted something that was easy to remove with two people that we could use on the Rivian if we wanted. Superlite was the perfect option to be able to easily remove and swap it’s only 80lbs
hey, I might be wrong, but I guess you choose 2:1 (or something like that) aspect ratio for Bluebird, but for vlogs you go for the "normal" 16:9, why is that?
Just to change it up and make the films/series feel more special. Also Cards aren’t supported on the cinescope ratio, so we use 16:9 for regular videos so we can have related or tutorials pop up at the end
Are you going to cut out a heliport for “WZ” in your cabin property? Just a thought 💭.
Oh yes!!! Got a spot picked and everything 😂
Loving the evolution of this channel, diving into a new interest/hobby and as always, going balls out and doing whatever you're doing with impeccable asthetics
Thanks much! Having a ton of fun!
Fun. Can't wait for a picture with your blacked out F-150, Rivian, & Robinson!
Oh yes a must!!!
First
Watching you go through the early stages and knowing that I wasn’t alone when I went to 1000 hardware stores makes me empathetic. Haha always do a dry run. Even if it’s to drive somewhere and open everything up! 🫡. I learned the hard way with too much weight.
