- Airing on Cinemax in 1984, Rock 'N Soul International follows the guys on tour through Japan and Europe in February and March of 1984. The first 20 seconds or so are missing.

I've watched this documentary at least 4 times just because it's so entertaining. I love seeing these more intimate looks into Hall, Oates, and the rest of the band members' lives on tour. The part where G.E. is singing in the street and then immediately cuts to Charlie playing his saxophone especially cracks me up. Thank you for uploading this. (:
This documentary is sooo freakin' kool on so many levels: historical, musical, cultural, archival, creative, production/technical aspects. touring, personalities, social skills, universality, etc.!
Wish I had seen them in the 1980's ... all that energy is inspiring!

Forty years ago like it was yesterday! There are so many great things about this clip! I'm so happy it popped up in my feed. Where to begin? Arguably, the "lads", the best H&O band, T-Bone bass lines - 14:18, shoulder pads, Daryl and the Mandar and of course, Daryl and John getting along!

What a great doc! Love every second of it, and I too love Japanese, their love for music, culture and food. Arigato! (sp?) Daddy Cool, John, and "your" outstanding Musicians play so fine and how fun to see all of you "play" as well (outside the Music). Love the rap to the claps at the end, OMG... I've heard of a "little bit rock n roll" Can you be a tiny bit "rap". Great laughs! Thanks!

This is amazing, thanks for posting. I have not seen it since it aired on cable in 1984. Anybody know exactly how much is missing from the start? IMDb says it has a running time of 1 hour? Is that true?
I am waiting on a good book on him but nobody written any books on him!In that sense he is such a mystery!
Daryl has said he has no plans on a biography because you can find out about him through his lyrics. There is the Dangerous Dances book from 1984 about him and John though.
