We will then proceed to the renowned Trevi Fountain, a majestic work designed by Niccolò Salvi. According to legend, throwing a coin into the fountain guarantees a return to Rome, yet the true allure of the fountain lies in its extraordinary beauty, symbolizing the power of the Roman Empire, with the central figure of Neptune, the god of the sea, guiding his chariot in the shape of a shell, drawn by sea horses.
Our tour will continue to the Pantheon, one of the best-preserved monuments of ancient Rome. Built by Marcus Agrippa, the Pantheon is an iconic example of ancient architecture, with its famous dome, which, at 43 meters in diameter, remained the largest in the world until the construction of St. Peter’s Dome. Its engineering perfection has inspired centuries of architects and engineers.
Finally, we will visit Piazza Navona, one of the most beautiful squares in Rome, built on the remains of the Stadium of Domitian. Here stands the extraordinary Fountain of the Four Rivers, created by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, representing the four great rivers of the known world at the time: the Nile, the Ganges, the Danube, and the Río de la Plata, a true masterpiece of Baroque sculpture.
