Absolutely mesmerizing! This virtual 3D reconstruction of ancient Rome is a true masterpiece. The "History in 3D" team has flawlessly captured the essence of the mid-4th century CE, showcasing the iconic landmarks of the Eternal City. The attention to detail in the Colosseum, Capitoline hill, Basilica of Maxentius, and Temple of Venus and Roma is truly impressive. The addition of colorful elements like painted statues and reliefs adds a vibrant touch. Thank you for sharing your incredible progress with us. I wonder if it would be possible to sometimes overlay a map of the modern city just in order to clarify exactly where each monument etc is/was in relation to where we stand today. Watching the video can be a bit confusing especially when the camera flies around and changes direction quickly. But these videos are just breathtaking! Thank you!

As a lifelong seeker of everything history..and from my earliest childhood..I have wanted to set my eyes upon the works and wonders of the ancients. Roman, Greek and Egyptian histories were my very first primary school history lessons, and I had a woman history teacher who told history and history's stories from a human point of view and with all calm dedicated human heart..she was the best history teacher I could have ever imagined..she taught our class so well that she had 8 year olds in absolute awe for everything history..and..as a wonderful teacher she had time for any and all enquiries from eager to learn questioning young minds..even if she was on lunch break. A teacher worthy of praise love and much respect..then..now..and forever always.
This gentle calming voiced intelligent sweet souled woman was the spark that ignited many of my classmates fire for all things history..a warming learned fire that still glows fierce and warm in our spirits to this very day.
Thankyou for sparking the kindling teach..knowledge seeking still glows bright in a new 21st digital world. 🤘🙂💜
And I love discovering this channel just today..your works are incredible and inspiring to the young mind who grew to an adult who continues to seek out all things history, especially my favourite three time periods. I would love to see the ship building areas and docks for the Roman fleet..and.even the merchant shipping...if possible?.please???
Just a thought from a adult history fiend with still the spirit of a lad within.
Great Channel people..keep up the most excellent work..liked immediately.. Subbed instantly.🤘😁♥(/-\)..

This is stunning! I never really stopped to really think about the implications of this: the styling, elegance, massiveness, and details put nearly all of our current architecture to shame. What we build or make now rots (wood), rusts (metal) or breaks (plastic) and has a very limited life-span. I know it's all about cost savings and short-term profits, but I see stone and brick buildings from the 1600s and 1700s in my area that are still intact and being used. Stone isn't a good choice in areas with earthquakes, though.

    Truly captivating work, major congratulations!
Quick question: how was the location and amount of greenery determined? It seems the Romans applied a very modern cosmetic sensibility to their urban planning, also taking into account the level difference for sidewalks and roads.

Archaeology of Rome and narrative sources allow us to suppose the locations of green areas in the City. Actually there was very little vegetation, trees etc. in the densily built center.

Beautiful buildings - the most modern city of the ancient world, with 1 million inhabitants. Too bad it was infected with the disease of slavery and human trafficking. That would ultimately be its downfall.

Rome wasn't built in a day, nor should a virtual reconstruction. Nice progress so far.👍
