Apart from the detachable cable, the differences between K669 and T669 is about the tone and the noise level. T669 has much more bass presenting while still keeps the high ends clairty. And T669 overall noise floor is slightly better. But basically, you can take the T669 as a performance-lift version of K669B, not a huge improvement. The main point is still that it comes with all the accessories that allow you to have better sound. Compared with K670, the noise floor is similar. But the capsule of T669 is smaller, and you have to put the arm stand closer to compensate for the bass. Therefore resulting in the difference of tone. T669 doesn't give that kind of all-round sound as K670 provides. And without the low-latency headphone jack, you may run into problem when doing podcast and you want to hear yourself in real time. But there won't be quite noticeable difference if your main use is gaming. And you don't need that headphone jack to hear yourself either in gaming.
I think you mean the T669, because K669 is not in the same price range of Maono is. If it's T669, we made thorough comparison with Maono. If we're honest, Maono does a nice job on the mid (to slight low) end. But it may sound muffle sometimes. So if you're clairty-perferred, T669 is a better choice. And since it's the upgraded from K669, it will also have more bass presentating in your recording. The main difference is about the tone.
Hey hello! Thank you so much for the amazing review, you really went in-depth on everything, I didn't even know there were so many things a mic could be tested for. But I still have a question: Is the microphone able to be mounted on a third party stand or arm/boom? Would gladly appreciate an answer, as I don't have very much space on my desk and don't quite know (yet) where I would put it with the included tripod. Anyways, have a great day!
Yes. I have used this mic on a more sturdy weighted base in the past. If I remember correctly, the mount uses a standard 5/8" 27tpi connector. If you look up that sizing, you'll find it's pretty common for mics.
Yes. K669 is suitable for the Boom arm stand which comes with the 3/8'' to 5/8'' adapter. And you can easily search for it on Amazon. Link: www.amazon.com/s?k=boom+arm+stand&ref=nb_sb_noss
If used correctly, no. All mics have the potential to generate hiss if levels are not set right but this can be nice and quiet (as per the audio tests)
The best setting for almost all the use environment are that dial is adjusted at 50%, comupter inupt at 70% and output at 80%, speaking range within 3-5 inches. Though it's not set in stone. It's better to open a recording software to check the level meter when you're setting up the mic. The meter bounces around at -12 dB would be the perfect level & range for you to talk pass the mic. There're more factors involved to get the best out of the mic, but when you pay closer attention to volume and distacne, you should be able to get pretty decent sound.
Have you tried out K670 one it's around $50, I've already made a choice to get me one of these but I wonder how this one fares against K669, from what I've seen the only difference is that that one has headphone port and its a bit different design, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it if Fifine sent you one to test?
Hi there, please follow the suggestions below to try removing the static sound. First off, try testing the mic on a laptop without charging cord plugged in to see if it's the grounding issue. If laptop is not available, could you bother to have your PC powered by another wall outlet? Next, to eliminate the possibility of a broken USB, just test with another one. Then, set the mic dial at 70%, computer at 80% and speaking range for around 5 inches. At last, test the mic with different positions on your desk to see if the static is still there.
11:20 that's what I have been searching for all over the internet. many thanks! I do sport voiceover and I need to speak loud and close to the mic. can you suggest to me something cheap that will not hard clip like this FIFine mic? I was thinking to the TONOR TC-777. many thanks.
If you're doing the voiceover, maybe you need the 3.5mm headphone jack for monitoring. Then the K670 will serve your need best. Link: bit.ly/fifinemicrophone-k670
HI! Help me please. I have Fedora Linux and a Fifine K688 microphone. But when the microphone is connected, crackling and noise are heard on the recording. Everything works correctly on Windows. How can this be corrected?
They funded the purchase but I ordered it, hence why I was able to select the black one. I knew this sounded confusing when I was editing this down. :-)
It still do the job, but if it's about mixing of acoustic and vocal, it's better to go for K670: bit.ly/fifinemicrophone-k670 which will give more thickness to the instrument part. Also you can monitor your voice when you are recording.
We have replied your comment under another video, but just in case other buyer may see your comment under this one. We just made the reply again. You can use a Bluetooth headset with your computer as output while the mic as input. But if you want to plug a headset into the mic's 3.5mm jack at the back, then it has to be a 3.5mm headset. And it's better to be the latter one, because if you want to connect headset via Bluetooth to monitor the mic playing through, there could be noticeable delay.
I'm thinking of trying out some voice over work, do I really need to pony up for something fancier or will this mic be sufficient just to start out if I use it right? Keeping good posture, proper steady distance, etc.
Yes, it's more than enough for your voice-over. It's good at picking up the top end of your voice, thus the reocding would be quite clean. And you could put the mic closer to your mouth (around 3 inches) to have the warmer sound in some part of your recording. But proper volume level and speaking range can only give you good sound. Environment treatment is also one of the important factors. With a sub $50 budget, apart from this mic, you can even invest on an arm stand, a pop filter and a few bits of acoustic foam to give a much obvious improvement on the audio quality.

Hi Nawress, would you like to let us know what kind of background noise that is? The sound from fans, air-condition or hissing, buzzing? If it's just the mic picking up sound from noise source, you could solve it by using some moving blanket to setup a treated room. It will not just solve the background noise, but even gives chance for a better sound quality, since the sound that bounces around the wall will be reduced, you will get less hollow sound. If it's the hissing or buzzing, You can contact us at Facebook page: m.me/FifineStore or support email: web@fifinemicrophone.com with order number.
Just came across this mic. I currently use a Rocketfish HD webcam. The video is still pretty good. Not true HD, but good enough. But the mic isn’t great. People hearing me often say I sound distant and muffled. Increasing the input volume on my Mac doesn’t really help. I just sound a little louder muffled. You mentioned a good distance is about 9-30 cm. How is it further away? Like about 1-2 feet. I usually sit up when on video conference, with the mic on the desk, it would be about that far away from my head. Will it sound considerably muffled? Is there a workaround for this? ie. Turning up the input level on my Mac, and/or turning up the input level on the mic itself. I’m basically looking to use this primarily to replace the mic on my webcam. Thanks.
I use the Fifine mic on MS Teams at a distance of 30 cm and it sounds great. It shouldn't sound muffled as it's a fairly crisp mic. How does your current mic sound close up? Problems can arise when the room isn't dampened. You only need to be a few feet away for the reverb from one word to 'intrude' on the next word which massively reduces intelligibility. Usually, increasing levels just increases the volume of the problem. :-)
@@tdcattech It just sounds louder, a little less muffled. But not that much better. And that's about 2 inches away. The further I go back, the more muffled it sounds. I'm certain it's the built-in mic on the webcam. Just crappy. It is old. lol And you are correct. Increasing levels just increased the volume of the problem. I ordered the Fifine mic. Should arrive on Friday. I'll post back a review.
The K669B provide the better sound quality than the mic on webcam. As what you mentioned, setting up around 1-2 feet not only accepts your voice but also accepts more environment noise. If budget allows, the better way fixing it up is to use a arm stand to be closer to get a warmer and clearer sound, you will find the sound quality is up for another level. Just simply screw the 3/8" to 5/8" adapter that comes with boom arm into the thread of the mic mount, and then screw the mic into the stand. You are good to go then. And you can purchase the Arm Stand on our official website. Link: fifine.cc/product/fifine-adjustable-scissor-arm-stand/
Hey so if anyone who owns this microphone could answer this question I would be incredibly grateful. How does it handle background noise? I live in a somewhat noisy household and this is my one concern about this mic.
This is a difficult one to answer because it's largely down to how you use the mic. The proximity effect is great with this mic. What that means is that it has a great sound when used close up. If you are able to do this, your audio levels will be relatively much higher than any background noise. This means that the background naturally falls away as you lower your input level to match your louder voice. If you need to use it from further away, you might be better with a shotgun mic so the off-axis rejection (rejection of audio from the sides) is higher. Remember also that, depending on the software you use this mic with, it may also perform some form of background noise cancelling. That's not done by the mic though. I hope this helps.
@@tdcattech thankyou for reply, sir for start-up purpose I want mic in low budget which have noise cancellation function, because high noise comes in my recording. Should I go to fifine or which series in finfine, or any other brands
Hi there, you probably need to purchase the arm stand with 3/8" to 5/8" Screw Adapter, which can be easily accessible with the keyword "boom arm stand" on Amazon. As for the ones with shock mounts, plz pay attention to the direction of installation and confirm you can adjust the volume dial after installing.
Hello I'm curious if this mic can capture outside noise? Perhaps dogs barking outside? Our house is not sound proof do when my dogs bark even at the back mostly it seems like they're inside the house
K669 is the microphone with the cardioid pick-up pattern making your voice appear more engaged in front of the mic, thus the dogs barking sound shouldn't be picked up. You could hear less noise by adjusting the volume knob around 60%, computer output around 80%, and speaking range to around 3-5 inches. If budget allows, you can purchase a boom arm to keep it further from the noise source such as the keyboard and mouse, get closer to get a closer and warmer sound. But overall the best method to have great sound quality is to setup the use environment (if the mic is not defective). And the treated room can be done with ease, and here's our blog for your reference: fifinemicrophone.com/blogs/news/how-to-make-an-acoustic-treatment-on-a-budget
I'm struggling to understand what latency I can expect from this - my main aim is to use a usb mic as the input to an in-computer vocoder which would require a max latency of about 20ms realistically. Any info on this?
hey TD. I just got this mic but it’s not working right. for some reason, i have to hold the volume button on the mic to talk. as soon as i took my finger off the mic it doesn’t work anymore. idk how to fix do you?

It works on iOS with the suitable adapter. You can speak but you can't hear the sound from the microphone when you're using the microphone. That means it is suitable for recording, but not for meeting.
Hi there, sorry for catching sight of your comment late. Not sure if you have bought the mic, but its cable is 6 feet long, which should be enough to put it onto a mic stand and plug into the front USB port of computer. If it's long enough, you may need to consider chaning the arm stand placement a bit or using an extension cable instead.
I am a complete novice here. All want to do is some recordings of me singing on a backing track. Is there a way I could do this with this mic? If so how? Sorry for being thick
K669B still do the job, but the K670 is recommended if your main use is recording. Cuz the capsule of K669 is smaller, and you have to put the arm stand closer to compensate for the bass. And without the low-latency headphone jack, you may run into problem when doing podcast and you want to hear yourself in real time. The main difference about the tone is that K669 doesn't give that kind of all-round sound as K670 provides.
No, only the FIFINE K670 model gets output jack. But even so, it's not that suitable for audio output into a camera for recording. The audio from headphone jack is not processed by the built-in sound card or computer, so the quality won't be good enough for recording.
@@Snaily Haha, thank you. Just to protect buyer from getting something that cant do what they expect. Returning product is really not a good experience for buyers.
It's cardioid mic so the noise coming from the back of the mic is slightly dampened. But if noise cancellation is your main concern, a $60 setup of dynamic microphone (such as FIFINE K6) and an audio interface (like Behringer UM2) is more suited. K669B tilts in favor of clarity, while clarity means sensitivity. So it's not that possible to have very clean audio in a noisey room.
Hi there, to do with the background noise, first off is to keep decent gain level, the dial setting on mic is of crucial importance. Set it below 50% if you're in a noisy room and the you cant get rid of the noise, such as the sound from fans or air-condition. Next, set computer input at around 80%. At last, the speaking range is another aspect that makes the great difference. Keep the mic 3-5 inches away from mouth, the closer the better. If budget is enough, with an arm stand, you will find the sound quality is up for another league. But overall the best method to have great sound quality is to set up the use environment (if the mic is not defective). And the treated room can be done with ease, and here's our blog for your reference: fifinemicrophone.com/blogs/news/how-to-make-an-acoustic-treatment-on-a-budget
Hi Jose, sorry for catching sight of your comment late. But TD has given you the correct answer. You would need a type C male to type A female adapter. With such adapter, you can even use the mic with iPad Pro (2018 or newer version) or iPhone 11.
really such a apple person. i would have thought that as a apple user you would realise you literally need a dongle common sense people like you worry me
I have a micro-USB to USB adapter for my phone. So, can I plug this microphone into that, and record my voice on my phone? Or do I need a computer to do that?
I don’t think a phone operating system will support a sound device like a laptop or desktop does. I don’t have a phone to try this on but I don’t think this would work.
Hi there, it should work. We're not sure which smartphone you use. But we have tested out with the most of the existing model, like the iPhone, Samsung S&Note series, Sony, Huawei and Xiaomi. And they work just fine with the mic through an adapter.
@@FIFINE your responding so well to questions is very impressive. I hop your company does well and I think it will partly because of your great customer service.
McCrispy It probably won’t fit but a part on your Boom arm has an accessory which you can unscrew and screw it into your microphone to where it’ll fit. Just did it today
Please set computer input at around 80%. Then the speaking range is another aspect that makes the great difference. Keep the mic 3-5 inches away from mouth, the closer the better. After that, if the problem still exist, please check whether you have unchecked the "allow applications to take exclusive control of this device", also check whether you ticked the "Automatically adjust microphone settings".
Yes, I agree it sounded confusing 🙂. They paid for it but I ordered it on my Amazon account. It’s usually easier for both parties doing it that way plus they like it as I show as a ‘verified purchase’ if I answer a question or review on Amazon itself. Watch out for that on Amazon. Although I always remain impartial and honest, many people are probably not.
Yes, of course. You can’t get rid of noise but you can make your signal to noise better. If you use the mic within 5cm or so, the level would be high enough for the sound of a PC to be barely noticeable. Also, keeping the PC behind the mic will drop the level a little.
Um. You will only hear just little noise (it is unnoticeable) after following the instrucions below. First off is to keep decent gain level, the dial setting on mic is of crucial importance. Set it below 50% if you're in a noisy room and the noise cant get rid of, such as the sound from fans or air-condition. Next, set computer input at around 80%. Depends how you use it and what other people are using. If others are on headsets, you’d have to be less than 10cm from this mic to create the same close sounding audio. If you have the mic on your desk, it will sound worse than a headset in most rooms.
Sorry to hear that. You can set the volume dial below 50% if you're in a noisy room. Then adjust the computer input at around 80%, speak at 3-5 inches away from mouth. If budget is enough, with an arm stand, you will find the sound quality is up for another league. You wouldn't need dedicated software for this. I just mean that e.g. Zoom has noise cancelling / background noise removal built into it. If you were to use this mic for e.g. video production, definitely better to remove the noise at source!
To be brutally honest, even the high-class USB microphone can't filter noise completely, but we can adjust the dial setting to reduce the noise coming from the environment. First off, set the dial below 50% if you're in a noisy room. Next, set computer input at around 80%. At last, the speaking range is another aspect that makes the great difference. Keep the mic 3-5 inches away from mouth, the closer the better. If you have any software with the level meter, it's recommend to adjust the volume setting and make the meter bounces from -12db to -16db, then the sound will be pretty decent.
This is just a mic. Any background noise cancellation would be part of the software you use the mic with. If the software supports that, this mic will work fine with it.
TDCatTech Some microphones do have Background Cancelling. Also Amran Sidek it’s not great without any software. However if you mess around a bit with some simple software you can dampen the sounds and keep it clear.
it has a lot of hiss noise but i thinks its my pc or mic cause i can easily remove it in program and i dont lose any sound quallity thats so stange and when i put everything on 0 like gain and volume to 0 it still hisses i thinks its my pc
Yes, we're afraid that it's the output device or PC tower issue. When the dial is on 0, the mic is muted, you can't even hear the self noise of the mic. So you can simply use another headphone and plug it into the other output jack of your PC to find out where the problem lies.

Just got this yesterday and there's a fair amount of hiss and preamp noise in my copy. Would you say yours had quiet levels from the get go?
Hi there, please follow the suggestions below to try removing the static sound.
First off, try testing the mic on a laptop without charging cord plugged in to see if it's the grounding issue. If laptop is not available, could you bother to have your PC powered by another wall outlet? Next, to eliminate the possibility of a broken USB, just test with another one. Then, set the mic dial at 70%, computer at 80% and speaking range for around 5 inches. At last, test the mic with different positions on your desk to see if the static is still there.
What a pleasants and informative review. The guy remind me of Dave Matthews.

They funded the purchase but I ordered it, hence why I was able to select the black one. I knew this sounded confusing when I was editing this down. :-)
Think this would be suitable for a singer w/acoustic guitar? (My father) Great reviews.
It still do the job, but if it's about mixing of acoustic and vocal, it's better to go for K670: bit.ly/fifinemicrophone-k670 which will give more thickness to the instrument part. Also you can monitor your voice when you are recording.
What is the best distance from the speaker(sound source) for optimum sound quality that you would recommend?
Keep the mic 3-5 inches away from mouth, the closer the better.
can i use it with a bluetooth headset or do i have to use the aux port
We have replied your comment under another video, but just in case other buyer may see your comment under this one. We just made the reply again.
You can use a Bluetooth headset with your computer as output while the mic as input. But if you want to plug a headset into the mic's 3.5mm jack at the back, then it has to be a 3.5mm headset.
And it's better to be the latter one, because if you want to connect headset via Bluetooth to monitor the mic playing through, there could be noticeable delay.
The new version has a usb type a removable cable. or as I like to call it the indestructible USB type.
So I have heard. Nice to have a USB Type-B connector on there to allow cable replacement and/or removal.
This mic for me is the most sensitive it can literally pick up so much background noises and when I tap my hand calmy

but it has background noise even though I was recording on 50 %
Hi Nawress, would you like to let us know what kind of background noise that is? The sound from fans, air-condition or hissing, buzzing?
If it's just the mic picking up sound from noise source, you could solve it by using some moving blanket to setup a treated room. It will not just solve the background noise, but even gives chance for a better sound quality, since the sound that bounces around the wall will be reduced, you will get less hollow sound.
If it's the hissing or buzzing, You can contact us at Facebook page: m.me/FifineStore or support email: web@fifinemicrophone.com with order number.
nice review ! whats the name of the song we can ear at 4:53 pls :)
The song is Kingdom Come by Theevs Music. It's from Artlist.
Link: fifine.cc/product/fifine-adjustable-scissor-arm-stand/

is this complete raw audio or is it mixed?
great review!!!
Mine is coming tomorrow
TDCatTech yes this does help a lot thank you for responding 😁👍🏼

Can I use it with any mic stand including the ones with shock mounts?
If you're not referring to the monitoring latency, then the input is almost instant.
NOT $30. So many reviews say $30, but the good reviews have nearly doubled the price. That is OK, still a good deal. I own one and I like it.

Hi there. K669 is suitable for the Boom arm stand which comes with the 3/8'' to 5/8'' adapter. And you can easily search for it on Amazon.
Can u use this microphone on iOS?
It works on iOS with the suitable adapter. You can speak but you can't hear the sound from the microphone when you're using the microphone. That means it is suitable for recording, but not for meeting.

@@tdcattech like it has like a bass to the words and can hear quite alot of background sound
can you reply fast plz i need to know how long the wire is because i already have a boom arm and i dont know if its going to be long enough
Is there a difference between k669 and k669b microphones?
Just the colar difference.
Does this mic have a headphone jack I am looking to connect to a DSLR
No, only the FIFINE K670 model gets output jack. But even so, it's not that suitable for audio output into a camera for recording. The audio from headphone jack is not processed by the built-in sound card or computer, so the quality won't be good enough for recording.

Hey has this got good noise cancelling?
It's cardioid mic so the noise coming from the back of the mic is slightly dampened. But if noise cancellation is your main concern, a $60 setup of dynamic microphone (such as FIFINE K6) and an audio interface (like Behringer UM2) is more suited. K669B tilts in favor of clarity, while clarity means sensitivity. So it's not that possible to have very clean audio in a noisey room.
Please review other @fifine mics like K678 or K670
How is the noise cancellation in this, if somebody lives in a place where there is noise ?
Hi there, to do with the background noise, first off is to keep decent gain level, the dial setting on mic is of crucial importance. Set it below 50% if you're in a noisy room and the you cant get rid of the noise, such as the sound from fans or air-condition. Next, set computer input at around 80%. At last, the speaking range is another aspect that makes the great difference. Keep the mic 3-5 inches away from mouth, the closer the better.

It’s pronounced “Fee-Feen”

how long is the cord from one end yo the mic?
The K669 is the plug and play usb recording microphone with 5.9-foot USB Cable.
Is the noice of a loud pc in the background loud in the mic?
Yes, of course. You can’t get rid of noise but you can make your signal to noise better. If you use the mic within 5cm or so, the level would be high enough for the sound of a PC to be barely noticeable. Also, keeping the PC behind the mic will drop the level a little.
Um. You will only hear just little noise (it is unnoticeable) after following the instrucions below.

Then adjust the computer input at around 80%, speak at 3-5 inches away from mouth.

does it have noise canceling?
No. The noise cancelling would need to be part of the software you were using.
@@tdcattech which software is good for noise cancelling?
@@FIFINE I bought the t669 cause I like the boom arm.
what about the background sound noise canceling?
This is just a mic. Any background noise cancellation would be part of the software you use the mic with. If the software supports that, this mic will work fine with it.
TDCatTech Some microphones do have Background Cancelling. Also Amran Sidek it’s not great without any software. However if you mess around a bit with some simple software you can dampen the sounds and keep it clear.

Yes, we're afraid that it's the output device or PC tower issue. When the dial is on 0, the mic is muted, you can't even hear the self noise of the mic. So you can simply use another headphone and plug it into the other output jack of your PC to find out where the problem lies.
