fantastic work! I could never get the planks soaked well enough to bend them around the bow, they would always snap :( what is your plank steaming process?
hi rob,i have got to start again on my hms surprise I had it on the keel clamp upstairs and I told the builders about it covered it with a dustsheet and they dropped a wall on it
To Robert Dunham A convenient way of marking with a pencil where the next planking was going to go as i did the planking in different places. Hope that helps u.
Hi Robert Dunham, sorry for the delay. when kettles boiled there done, or you can put them in water overnight
I use a old upright kettle put them in the spout and let it boil, leave them in water overnight, then press them into my pre made jig, hope this helps

hi rob,i notice you run a tape measure down the length of the hull can you explain why

Hi Rob, I bet your gutted I would be, I would be asking the builders for some compensation for new parts and all your hard work..
really am gutted have git in touch with modelspace and they are sending me packs 1 to 4 in one delivery
