Gotta say, during the 5th phase, the Mario bros music, even Gooper Blooper straight knew he was fucked, it was just magical.
Gooper Blooper- "I'm just gonna clap; and accept my fate....god I love Jazz"
Ladies and gentlemen... we got em
The bosses aren’t too memorable, but this one is unforgettable for how this boss was kind of a rhythm game to block the attacks, but also how the boss claps to the music, it’s just so good. The music also adapts to the situation, which is something only video games can perform.
The music, claps and bangs were the key to not getting poisoned and I love it, not a good paper Mario game but a good game if it were of any standalone franchise, has it's highs and lows, understand the hate but it is not that bad of a game, just a disappointment on what the previous ones were.
@@UFereSanyo never seen someone so perfectly put my feelings toward this game into words
Even while mario was destroying him, he didn't miss a single beat.
I love how it's gooper blooper's theme the entire time until the end when Mario has the advantage in the fight so it turns to his theme.
Yes, but when actually using the sponge, it ruins the Glooper Blooper theme. When I first heard the music after using the sponge, I had to restart the battle because the boss's theme was 10 times better.
@@bashura_0019 Plus it generally just ruins the fight itself. Man if the battle system was good
@@Snaps12345 I didn't mind the battle system when I first played it. I just enjoyed it as it is. Also that I did prepare myself to get some good stickers for the fight, since I knew it was going to be long
@@bashura_0019 Yeah thats the point. Preparation is everything. You just have to bring in the right stickers and then you either win or lose. Its not difficult. When you lose its probably just because of your sticker. And then you use the sponge against gooper blooper and its like "Oh cool all of your attacks deal a million damage now, he gets even more poison damage and you are invincible" and you cant really lose even if you wanted
Bashura _00 you restarted the entire battle just because you didn’t like the theme? Geez lol
There's just not enough flamenco-esque battle themes with this kind of serious mood and steady pace.
Hey hey! Ya gave me quite the idea! Making a game of my own! Yup, a rythym-based RPG. Well, maybe not rythym-based, but with Mother 3's mechanic... Maybe a sound player feature, or even a Battle Memory thing. Who knows, maybe both? Oh, i'm chock full of ideas...
Same here man, too bad they may never get made.
What's stopping you?
@@ConsarnitTokkori is it done?

Nintendo has always been good at the soundtrack business. I think many of the most memorable soundtracks are from Nintendo games.
Kyle Rutherford yeah even epic music from ps4 games wont stick as long as nintendo soundtracks
Best thing about Paper Mario: Sticker Star, the music.
the ONLY good thing about sticker star. the game itself....ugh :/ what a false advertisement -_- partners were shown and leveling up was shown then BAM!! all the good things taken out!! -_- except the music but even that didn't save it
@@ChaudTheGamer Music and gameplay was still good though.
@@ChaudTheGamer yet it has average to great scores from major critic sites.
@@ChaudTheGamer You can't kiss the butt of a bad game. It has to be decent or better for that to happen. If it were a really a bad game, then it would tarnish all that is the paper mario series. However, this is not the case due to the fact that it was an "alright" game. It does have it's hiccups, like the combat system and the lack of xp, but besides that, it has good music, armosphere, and overall story.
@@ChaudTheGamer Nobody is forcing you to like it. I'm just saying aside from all of the criticism it seems to be quite a decent game. Instead of recommending what is most likely a 20 minute rant, how about you tell me what is bad about the game. Don't just say "everything". That's just ignorant.
Yes! BRSTMs didn't have the clapping. Freakin' FINALLY.
Yep
Yeah it really sucks to see it be gone.
And now BrawlBRSTMs3 X is gone PERMANENTLY!
wut wrong with da clapping?
*clap clap*
And then there’s BrawlBRTMS, *he’s dead.*
This theme literally convinced me that my hands have a mind of their own.
they're just possessed
don't worry about it
I find it absolutely hilarious that Gooper Blooper from paper mario sticker star is the most developed boss in the franchise. 4 different phases each with their own separate music track in which the boss claps along to its own theme that you're also supposed to use as a rhythm to know when to block its attacks and a final 5th phase which only activates if you use the boss' move against them, which plays the main theme of paper mario sticker star and then the boss claps along to YOUR theme for the fun of it.
A 5 phase mini boss battle. 4 phases more than any other mini boss has and the same number of phases as final bowser has. The icing on the cake is that the theme also slaps
I think you mean, " The theme also *claps* "
Phase 1 0:00
Phase 2 2:56
Phase 3 6:03
Phase 4 8:56
Poisoned 12:03
I litterally saw a comment the exact same as mine underneath this one, but then noticed that was two years ago ;-;
Yeah... I've been there... Making a creative comment, only to find that somebody else beat me to it years ago....
Thanks for the shortcuts.
At what point does phase 5 play in the game? Is it after you use the sponge?
@@juliuskulla2097 yeah, phase 5 is sponge only, and to me it's the weakest phase in the song
Can't get enough of phase 4, damn awesome.
Phase 2 is extremely cool too
3 is the best
gonna trigger a bunch of people but, this is probably one of Paper Mario's most creative boss fights
It is, better in creativity than Doopliss and Tubba Blubba
@@DXPeterGZ blasphemy! this game does Not hold any candle sticks to the previous three, still.... after playing this game a number of other occasions I have to say... this game did end up growing on me. I DID hate this game at first.. but I think we've got a very rare case here, I THINK this is one of those games You have to LEARN to love.
...this has never happened to me before. . .
Peter GZ ok now I know you’re high, this blooper had no backstory besides the poison but we didn’t know what it was until seeing the battle (besides the beginning of 3-1 where u saw the tentacles) BUT Doopliss took Mario’s fucking name, used his own partners against him and had a theme better than this imo, Tubablubba was so much better than this you had to get to his mansion, learn his secret, find his heart after he’s chasing you, then fight the heart, then go on to watch tuba reunite with it (even tho tuba was easy) it still had a dope theme and build up. This on the other hand? Nothing besides poison
@@lunchtable1381
I said Battle, not backstory
Sticker Star > TTYD
After listening closely I have developed some notes about each phase. What all phases have in common is they have eight measures each in 4/4 time. After the eighth measure the phase repeats until moving on to the next phase.
Phase 1: Gooper Blooper claps every third and fourth beat.
Phase 2: The eighth measure has a three-and-four clap.
Phase3: All measures have full claps while the eighth has a quarter note triplet. Thanks to @AnAverageArceus and @Joeythekingz for clarity for the final measure.
Phase 4: After some help with @BloodfallenEvileye and @Joeythekingz this is sort of figured it out (no guarantee) the first measure has Gooper Blooper thump on two and four. The second measure is two and four. Third measure is two and four. Fourth is two -and-four-and.
Measure five is two, and four. Measure six is two, and four. Seven is two, and four. The eighth measure is two and-of- three (I think).
Phase 5: The first eight measures make up one half of the song while the second eight make up the other half. Gooper Blooper claps every second and fourth beat.
Feedback and constructive criticism is appreciated as I’m not well versed in music.
The 4th phase is 1, 1, 1, 1 2, 1, 1, 1, 123, 1, 1 2, 1, 1 2, 1, 1 2, 1, 1- repeat. If I had the vocabulary I'd put this into measures, haha.
@@bloodfallenevileye5688 congrats !
I really like the complexity here
Also I think the hits are in a more triplet-like pattern instead of eighths (instantly making it a bit more unusual)
The last measure for phase three is 1, 2, then a triplet, which kinda threw me off a bit lmao
Anyway I kinda wanna try to make phase 4 a bit more readable (so this'll be in a triplet-like formation instead because I can't think of a better way to do it, sorry)
~~~ 2~~ ~~~ 4~~
~~~ 2~~ ~&~ 4~~
~~~ 2~~ ~~~ 4~~
~~~ 2~~ ~&~ 4~~
~~~ 2~~ ~&~ 4~~
~~~ 2~~ ~&~ 4~~
~~~ 2~~ ~&~ ~~~
This could be a bit off but this is what I got from it, basically meaning the 4th phase's third and fourth beats are offset triplets if I'm hearing it right
Also, translating phase 3 in the same way, the last measure would be
1~~ 2~~ 3~a ~&~
@@AnAverageArceus
Okay, again I wasn’t completely sure how phase 4 played out since it was offset from the rest of the phases and I’m not exactly well versed in music theory or anything of the sort. It also doesn’t help that Gooper Blooper is thumping to the beat instead of clapping, the former is hard to hear over the music than the latter which is more distinct.
the fourth phase is two, four, two, and-four, two, four, two, and-four-and, two, and-four, two, and-four, two, and-four, two, and of three. also phase 3 on the eighth measure its just a quarter note triplet
IMO this was by far not only the most creative and unique boss in the game, but this music is probably the best and catchiest out the OST.
Phase 4 is fricken amazing the sax tho
that went hard🔥
Each phase is like an even harder bass drop than the phase before it and they all last for like 3 minutes. Amazing.
This probably was one of the more fun boss fights I've experienced. LOVED what they did for this guy in this game. Way more memorable than his fights in Sunshine.
This medley sums up my experience when taking exams:
Part 1: Start test. Questions are a little tough, but nothing too serious.
Part 2: Questions start getting more serious. Now feels like a real test, and feel ready for what comes next.
Part 3: Now halfway through. Starting to get tired, but the questions and critical thinking just keep coming nonstop.
Part 4: Have now reached that one hard question, you know, the one only the A students can figure out in time. Have to skip other questions to focus on it. Academic life flashing before eyes.
Part 5: Just solved that one question. fuckyea.jpg Feel like I'm on top of the world. Wrap up test by finishing easier problems before time's up. Turn test in.
+Consarn it Tokkori! (Call me Consarn): He attacks on the beat during his turn on each phase, meaning you can predict exactly when to guard.
Even though this boss is very annoying its cool because he is the only boss that has 5 phases and actually effects the stages when hasn't been beaten yet because he causes the poison in world 3 so it makes a big difference on the stages, am I right ?
Plushy Master 700 when you kill gooper blooper all poison is gone so yeah kinda
Okay, I really don't like Sticker Star, but I have to give this game's soundtrack huge props, because sequences like this just go SO damn hard.
Getting all normal stickers in the gallery gets you the Enemy Gallery. Lets you pay 1 coin to view (on a timer) a select number of standard enemies doing attack and hurt animations. Bosses also not present.
I can see this being a theme of a dance battler boss in another game that changes boss music when he hits different stages of the fight. Just a really flamboyant type of guy who treats fighting like an extreme dance between partners who moves to the battle music and talks a lot during battle. Lot's of kicks and flair.
Phase 1: "Let us Dance. Ah ha ha." *Confidant and dismissive of the opponent. Snaps along with the music between actions*
Phase 2: "You have some good moves. Let's turn up the tempo." *Getting interested in the opponent. Claps along with the music between actions*
Phase 3: "Ah ha ha. It's been too long since I've met such a good dance partner." *Really into the fight. Claps and dances along with the music.*
Phase 4: "Grr... I'm Impressed... You've got moves... But I think it's time I take this seriously." *Fighting more seriously. Stomps a foot against the ground in time with the music*
Phase 5: (Post battle) "I enjoyed this. Let's do this again some time, my friend. Ah ha ha." *Pumping his fist into the air to a cheering audience after the fight when not being talked to, letting you progress.*
Phase 1: Hello there.
Phase 2: Oh my...
Phase 3: Hehehe...I'm screwed...
Phase 4: OH SHIT!
Phase 5: Oh how the tables have turned
My favorite boss battle of all time! :3 Phase 4 is AMAZING!
Best boss in the game, although I also liked Mizzter blizzard. Some things this game does well, and I liked both of the designs. I hope they come back in a later game with maybe a bit more character! Maybe have Kersti come back too, let her apologize to Mario for some character development she desperately was deprived of in the base game.
When you don’t avoid every battle and have knowledge about what you’re supposed to use and where, this game is actually pretty fun.
Well, I just clapped in time with the claps all while I was listening to this...
My hands hurt now.
I don't know why people hate this game, I think it's amazing along with all the other paper mario games. I admit that this one is the worst of all of them... but hey, one has to be the worst... I still really like this game, and as a real Nintedo supporter you should too!
I see why people would say this is the worst,(turn based RPG not open world like SPM, no stickers=no attacks to use, etc.) but this has to be my favorite one because the way they make the paper mario games they make it like a story book so they did the same but added the stickers like using them to change the story, and I like that small element.
i think super paper mario is the worst
Hop off the bandwagon and tell me what's wrong with this game.
Mario Terrell it took many things away from the games. Don't get me wrong it is a good 3ds game but a crappy paper Mario game.
Mario Terrell I must agree it was good for a 3DS game but not a paper Mario game.
+Anthony Canizares what the hell does that mean?
I don’t care if I get hate because of this opinion, but this is my favorite paper mario final boss song.
I actually think the game is good. It’s only bad if you compared it to the other paper Mario games but if you judge it on what it is and not what it could’ve been then it’s actually a good game
What I find interestingly odd is that even though at Phase 5, in which case the '5' displays an arrangment of all 7 colors of the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet respectively (The more you know)), the video thumbnail (the one you see when moving the cursor across specific moments of the video) only shows the '5' to be blue.
tl;dr version: The five is multi-colored on the video, but the "skip-to image" makes it blue.
+Hwelse that's because you can't animate a thumbnail...
No no no, the thing is that when you scroll through the amount of time a video has, it takes a thumbnail of it, and because it changes color so slowly, I would have expected it to be more than just blue.
i'll have to think about that a bit...
You are man.
The only good thing Sticker Star had was this boss theme. There was so much potential for the Gooper Blooper fight and the fact that it was timing/rhythm based! But the sponge ruined it by the 4th phase and after that he/she would just be torn apart without being to land a single blow.
