Congratulations on your sobriety! I’m 52 days sober and had some big cravings this weekend and got some NA beer and made micheladas. So good! And I stayed sober❤
@@lizziekindrew Congrats on being two years sober. I know how tough it is at the beginning to quit. It's not tough anymore, though. It does get much easier. Athletic Brewing has great fall seasonal beers. Those are my favorites. My wife and NA beer helped me more than anything my first year sober of my seven year streak.
My go-tos are Peroni and Lagunitas IPNA. Your advocacy for NA beer helped me to not worry about drinking them. Thanks as a!ways, Im still sober since your Dry December content!
Exactly what you said about the less than 0.5% I’m currently in my first week still and made my research for NA drinks and was worried about the 0.5% However , even a overripe banana can have up to 1.2% alcohol So if those NA drinks help us stay sober , I’d say let’s go 💪🏻
Really good video! Now I know I have options when it comes to NA beer. And congrats on your sobriety🎉. I will be 5 months sober by the end of the year🙌🏽.
Hi Elizabeth congratulations on 2 years sober,I would say no helps takes the edge off, my only issue with alcohol free beer wish they came in bigger bottles sizes like 25, 32, and 40 oz sizes instead of 6 packs
Hey Lizzie. Thanks for making this video. I’m 25 and quitting drinking can be considered weird for young people and sometimes I feel like people don’t take us seriously. It was nice to see how open you are with this and how much I relate to what you said about filling the gap and that oral fixation. Being able to enjoy craft beers and different drinks lets me feel like my self. I’m even saving money despite athletics full prices, since there’s not that drive to drink 7 more. lol anyways thank you and hope you are well on your journey
I’m on week number 3 being alcohol free, and in that time, I’ve found some really good NA beers. Guinness, Stella, Blue Moon, Sam Adams, Heineken and Athletic to name a few. I wasn’t really addicted, I just made the choice for health reasons and I don’t see the point of getting “tipsy” anymore.
I was a very big Mike's Hard Lemonade drinker and I really love their flavors, especially because I like those fruity flavors. Are there non-alcoholic options that have a similar taste to Mike's?
Beck's N/A is the only one I've found that tastes like real beer. I'm 23 years sober, but I still remember what real beer tastes like (you will too, trust me). I took a chance on something called "Athletic Mexican style copper" tonight (my liquor store was out of Beck's), and all I can say is... ugh! It tastes like homegrown weed smells.
Just switched to non alcoholic blue moon last weekend and I thought I was stuck to deal with the cravings on the weekends. I start drinking and cannot stop until many hours later but after swapping to N.A. beer, I have a very good feeling that I’ll be okay. It’s been a hand to mouth experience along with the taste of beer that I’ve craved. I wouldn’t even say the alcohol so much. I never considered N.A. beer but I’m so glad that I finally gave it a try
I'm so glad to hear that. N/A alternatives are a game changer for many people (myself included). It's a great way to enjoy the taste and the experience without any of the negative side effects. Best of luck to you!
Corona, Heineken and Dos Equis salt and lime are my top 3. Budweiser, Busch, Coors are all good options too. Need to try Odouls again. Haven't tried it since I was a kid and found it in my buddies dad's house 😆
I drink NA beers from time to time. I was an alcoholic beer drinker for over a decade. When I first got sober I jumped right to NA beer but then realized I wasn’t working on my addictive behavior, I was just substituting my addiction with something else. I was basically drinking 6-12 NA beers the same way I would regular ones. So I stopped those all together also. Now I might have one or two NA beers on very rare occasions. You have to make sure you are changing it up and finding new hobbies. I would wouldn’t recommend Na beer in early sobriety.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I also think harm reduction is important. Drinking NA beers like you would regular beers in early sobriety is still a massive improvement, and can help people achieve the goal of staying sober. In the long run, NA beers become less important as a 'crutch' as you work on the roots of dependency, build confidence in other areas, and try out new things. But getting over that first challenge is often the hardest part and non-alcoholic replacements were a huge part of my success, personally.
IMO, it’s not cheating. I’m a poly-addict/alcoholic.. clean and sober since 2007. I drink these near beers about once a week. It took a long time to get to that point and not want to get f**ced up, but that’s just the point. It’s getting wasted or even buzzed that’s a red line for me. These do not do that, thus, I consider them ok.. at least for me.
I'm about 6 months alcohol free after 40 years of drinking on and off who was a heavy party drinker in my 20s thru early 30s. I recently tried a NA beer and didn't care for the feeling. I realized that I really don't care for the taste of beer. I only tolerated because of the buzz. I also can't get with the price of NA beer, wine and spirits. I'm good with sparkling water, ginger ale, real juices or water. Fortunately, I never had alcohol cravings after quitting drinking. Besides, NA drinks that mimicks alcohol still glorify drinking culture in my opinion.

That is awesome! Good for you sticking to it!
Athletic Brewing is outstanding! NA has helped me stay sober for seven years.
Go you!! I love to hear that thank you for sharing!

To each their own! NA bevs were a huge part of my success and I'm happy if they can help someone else stay sober. Best of luck!
Even yogurt and bread can have an abv of 0.5%++ haha
Didn't know that

There's no one reason to drop alcohol! Glad to hear you're finding some alternatives you're loving. x
Look at all these strong people. Showing the will power to stay sober
Thank you so much!! I’ve been looking forward to hearing your recommendations since your 1 year sober video!!
Let me know if you try any! The other episodes are coming soon x

This was my experience as well. I thought I had dependency, but NA beers have hit the mark.
Way to go Elizabeth!!!! Corona NA is awesome! I can buy them at the dollarstore here in Canada. You seem very nice also!
At the Dollar Store?? Jealous!
@elizabethkindrew It's called Dollarama and they are $2 each... I guess not too bad. Have a great weekend Elizabeth 😀

Ohh haven't seen NA Dos Equis yet! I'll have to keep an eye out.
@@lizziekindrew yeah, it's Lime and Salt flavored too! 👍🏻

Great video!!
You drink kombucha? Also Im na drinking also. Athletic makes some good stuff.
I love kombucha - I make my own even! I had a hoppy kombucha the other week that was the perfect blend of IPA-tea-y flavor.
Peroni NA is amazing!!
Still need to find Peroni NA!
Try Estella Galicia 0%, highly recommended.
My favourite non-alcoholic beer is Estrella Damm. It is so good!
Haven't heard of it!!
I am on 4 days of being sober. I am back to drinking na beer
i wish we had options in SA,congradulations

I can have a ham and cheese sandwich, chips, and nonalcoholic beer at my house before I head into work, and I’m perfectly fine. :-)
Well, there’s 17 minutes of my life I won’t get back. Babble on.

It's not for everyone!
Heineken is tasteless. Cobra, Guiness and Leffe for me.
