Seeing him slowly be corrupted and manipulated into doing terrible things he knows in his heart are wrong throughout the whole series is depressing to witness, and then watching him finally snap and wanting it all to end in the final episode....
Not sure if you recall from the Creative episode, but when it resets, all three of the guys are now their favourite colours.

Exactly! They even start contradicting the advice they gave 10 seconds earlier. It’s elements like that I find very clever in this series.
But to be fair we do need to be careful, don’t want all that food making your gums all grey.

And in every case, if you ask too many questions you get shouted down. Spinach Can is downright threatening, even if they aren't quite as brutal as Clock about it.
Now you should check out the TV show/season 2, which does everything the internet series does but better and with a higher budget.
Unrelated, but The Amazing Digital Circus is a pilot for a psychological dark comedy by the group making Murder Drones and is even higher quality then that show in every way. Still only a pilot, but expect for it to get big quickly.

I love watching grown adults watch something I watched and memorized when I was 14, it’s always just wild to me.
Ever since the first installment, they've been trapped in this world. Constantly reset and made to perform for the council's enjoyment. What most don't know is that we are the council.
Pretty sure matpats theory was somewhere along the lines of the red man had an idea for a show, created it and it didn’t go well. The yellow kids dad bought the show and used it to convey corrupted ideas pushed by advertisers which funds the show. The rest I don’t really recall. I don’t know if the duck man is real but the Yellow kid and, red man, and the dad are real
Once I heard the interpretation that each guy was a stage in life (yellow kid, red adult and old duck) and that the bad influence of media and the dad made the kid suffer (which is why he is the most affected by him and most of the episodes) and that red guy, as an adult, is trying to recover what was denied to him as a child during his adulthood and trying to get away from the influence of his dad, meanwhile the duck is the "future" of red guy, thats why red guy is "calling him" to "wake up".
so the thing about the whole "riding a horse" yellow guy's dad actually used that against him because he's afraid of horses?! dad of the year folks.
you know what to do now. There's an entire TV SHOW to watch
Strongly recommend you watch Season 2! They make the bold choice of leaning into comedy as well while keeping the creepy, charming horror of the first season.
I like how by the second episode of the show the characters are already like "what the fuck is going on"
Season 1 and Season 2 are both kind of their own thing. Same characters, same humor, and same hellish world, but a different plot. This first season you are seeing is meta af but is said for people to draw their own conclusions, while season 2 on actual british television is more character focused than just songs, but there are still plenty of songs.
I highly recommend watching Film theories analysis on these episodes because there's a lot to unpack in all of them as well as multiple meanings within them.
Edit: I'm not taking Film theories analysis of DHMIS as the "absolute truth" like these guys in my reply section are accusing me of, it's just a theory from a RUclipsr that I enjoy sometimes. So if you're going to reply then don't be an insufferable asshole. Thanks.
I chose agree with everything mattpatt said, it seems to be the only logical conclusion, but I'm pretty sure the creator came out and said he was wrong which I'm going to continue to ignore.

@@JDaGoat0713 I feel like what the creators said was a red herring to try and invalidate Matt Patt's theory because of his "notoriety" with making theories for works of media and leaving no room for interpretation. The reason why I believe this is because I feel like the creators of the series wanted it to be free for anyone to interpret it the way they chose but if the creators didn't want a clear-cut interpretation then maybe they shouldn't have made the original series "message" so on the nose, I feel like it's for this reason why they made it into a TV series which essentially worked as a reboot for the story.
Sure, because thinking for yourself is hard. How can you live without your favorite "influencer" (ugh) telling you what to think.

If you want to see some content about this show, then i would recommend MatPat's Film Theories, Night Mind's analysis video, or the one done by Inside A Mind.
This show has a lot of interesting interpretations, and it is left pretty open for people to disect and draw out their own conclusions.
Part of this im pretty sure is showing that the two slightly older characters leave the "show" but yellow guy who is a child is trapped by his exploiting dad Ron and when red guy leaves the entertainment industry he cant fit in. He meets Ron again and is brought back into a production role and attempts to make it better but winds up just pulling the plug on the show.
The show is then replaced by a "new" show thats just the same thing again
MatPat from Film Theory made a couple great videos on this show. And his interpretations seems about correct. For as far as you've watched, his first two videos should cover it all
