Hi I bought a hotas but the throttle is fine but not the joystick I can move left and right on the runway but I cannot take off, any ideas, Phil

Glad you covered this little gem, Buur. It's a great game in its current state despite some problems. But what really sold me on it was seeing the ideas of the lead developer, and how much of a passion project it is. I'm very much looking forward to its future.

I'm in! Thanks Buur. With head tracking (in dev) and true multimon support or VR (planned), this will be a banger! Take my $20 now! I have spent so much on DCS, and IL2 series, and then not have the time to learn one aircraft, let alone the 5 or 6 I've purchased. This is much more my level of commit. Also see Tiny Combat Arena (sim lite in development) and VTOL (for VR sim lite).
It turns out that in my adult life I only have room for one massive time suck game at a time. Elite Dangerous I love (and hate) you.
Tiny combat arena is awesome as well.
Got this last night and had a blast in multiplayer despite constantly dying after flying 30km out in the shitty little prop plane they start you with. Map-of-the-Earth evasion is still very, very fun. Had a ton of fun though and can't wait to play more after work. Nukes were flying literally everywhere because I joined late in the game, so it was convincingly batshit. Highly recommended.
This brings back memories of Jane's Combat Simulations from the late 90's
Sometimes I feel I am the only person who remembers those, I still own a functional copy of Fighters Anthology. It was so awesome.

Really fantastic to see it coming back and Nuclear Option definitely speaks to that slant in me.... But with really solid multiplayer :)
@@TheBuurPit that era has not been topped yet, there were so many fun flight sims. Don't get me wrong DCS and war thunder are both great, but DCS is too hardcore for someone like me and war thunder is fun in short bursts. A modern fighters Anthology is my dream game, it's actually the game that got me into PC gaming, I was like 6 or 7(back in 2002-2003 maybe?) and my dad brought the CD home. I must have played that thousands of hours. Hopefully this game after it has been fully developed will scratch that itch, I will pick it up to support the developers.
Just bought it of steam...looks good. I play DCS and IL2 in VR and I agree DCS is a steep learning curve.
Try out VTOL VR if you haven't already then.
Just got the game recently (3 hours ago) had an absolute blast took me less than 2 minutes to figure out everything. Overall great game
mighta missed this elsewhere in the video but at 6:32 the pylon crashes down, are there any "crumple physics" on that or does it just hit the ground if you remember?
in any case you've sold me on the game completely with this video, i'm so happy that with AC7's success we have more arcade flight sims coming out :)

Finally, Warthunder has a real competitor like how Ready or Not competes against Squad, InZoi competes against The Sims and Great War competes against Total War. I'm sure BVVD and his staffs will be in panic mode when this comes out. Gaming industry needs more competition to pump out more higher quality games.
Nice to see you cover other games as well as Elite Dangerous (though still my first love) - If you're looking for other interesting titles to cover I suggest Infinity Battlescape.
Anything with nuclear weaponry available to use as a gameplay feature gets a special place in my heart, I'll be looking forward for this one xD
when i heard DID being mentioned i immediately went to steam and bought this. DID f22 total war is my fav.
They were such great Sims.

Hi, sorry to bother you, do you use a flight stick or just keyboard and mouse, I just find it akward using the mouse, can you advise, regards

Can't recommend them enough. Plenty of folks fly and fly well with keyboard and mouse but it doesn't work for me personally.
@@phillea708 All three at times!, I use a Saitek AV8R and keyboard as my main controls, with occasional mouse use for look and targetting. Wish it supported multiple monitors.
My favourite game is this because the compass and revoker can be used as a nuclear weapons delivery vehicle more effective then the dark thing
I used to play the Janes F15 and F/A18 flight sims way back in the day
Hey! I am a DCS nerd and learning the milsim stuff takes a lot BUT, if you just wanna go have fun its not that bad! 2-3 days at most to learn a plane!

The thing i liked about war thunder was how they executed mouse aim controls. Without the sheer grind on the tech tree, i'd still play it just for that.
I'm hoping this game does or will have that option

Love this game. the defend the bridge mission is a doozy...did the tanks, but don't know how to re-arm,
Land back at your Home airport. There's an ammo truck. Stop near it and you'll rearm.

Me too, but I can't stop the Radar missiles, I'm wondering if it's because I'm playing on handheld instead of keyboard.But apparently that's not it
This game looks promising, just needs some quality of life updates like head tracking (trick IR or freetrack etc) and screen exporting would be nice too

As an DCS F14 pilot I think I can speak for all of us and say if its not DCS, its arcade. Lol. I am however going to buy this game it looks really good and I'm curious. DCS is hard to learn, BUT once you master the plane you're flying there is nothing more fun or rewarding. Games that "do" things for you like radar tracking, locking etc are fun I guess but hopefully this game leaves a little of the work for you to do...downloading now!

Thanks for the review. Purchased. Got DCS and gave up on it. Have ACE but didn't really enjoy it. Love the old Microsoft Combat Flight Sim, but it won't run on modern Windows and I just can't be bothered to set up a Virtual Machine just to play it! Thanks for the heads-up!!!

This looks like vtol vr minus the vr and that is by no means a bad thing
Love this game more sim than ace combat but not too much to discourage you , and the dev is super involved in the project and always keeping us updated and listening ti the community
The only thing that irks me is the ejected pilots needing rescue. It would be a small pain in the ass to just send some ground units but its mostly impossible as the pilots either float high up in the air or are deep under the ground
That feature hasn't largely been implemented yet afaik.
Don't forget this is early access... It's still in development.

It looks fun but I can't imagine I'd ever play it as I am way too far in the DCS hole now, the HeliWhoppers are so addictive, but very time consuming.

As you described the game, talking about DCS on one hand and ace combat on the other, I felt you were talking right at me, Iv got DCS installed right now and I fly my AV 8B but Id like something a little bit lighter, its all on sim, can I shoot 60 sidewinders without rearming? if so Ill give it a pass.
I can't hear much (Speakers bust on phone) but this looks really fun. Is there something of substance for the single players? Like a long running war or something?
It's early access at the moment and still in development. There's a number of single player missions but no campaign yet. That is on the roadmap I believe.

I just got this and I have to say of the games in this genre I think most people that play other games will like this if you like dcs warthunder vtol vr ace combat or any other game of that sort if you don’t like this game I have to say you probably don’t like the ones I just mentioned

Buur is this game still gaining traction ? Also curious if there’s plans for it to be on console. My guess would be no but I couldn’t easily find any info.
I'm not sure how I can measure traction for you... I'm assuming you mean essentially people buying and playing it. The game is still a long way off being finished and very much in active development. There's a PvP tournament running at the moment for it and I'd recommend joining their discord and / or following them on Twitter. They released images of a new aircraft carrier this week and a new purchase and resource sharing system for the game.

It's on the roadmap... Concept stage at the moment
If you're interested in a "sim-lite", which is maybe what this game is going for, but that is also in VR, look for the game VTOL VR. When I first learned about this game, I basically said "Sounds kinda like VTOL VR on a flat screen" :)

Target something. Check your keybinds. Also do the tutorial missions.
can you command the units ? like as in be the general ? this game looks Really good tho i want to be the guy who decides whats going on instead of being just a pilot
You can in a very rudimentary fashion at the moment yes.
You can click on a unit and then right click where you want it to go.
I'm assuming that functionality will be expanded on but I've not seen it explicitly stated.
