'Music is liquid architecture; architecture is frozen music.'
When the opportunity to film for the Paganini Vault at Oxford University's Exeter Chapel presented itself, I couldn’t help but draw a parallel between music and architecture. For music is an intangible fluid art form that moves the soul, while architecture a symphony frozen in time that enchants the mind. It was apparent only one pairing could complement this awe-inspiring setting: the Cathedral of the 24 Caprices -- the monumental Fourth Caprice. A masterpiece against a masterpiece, frozen and fluid.
