This is a video about how I turned the tables on a scammer and tried to get him to work for me! Scammers in Nigeria often scam because they are idle and can't find work. What if we gave them work so they didn't have to scam?
I very much admire the way you offer the scammers a way out with dignity, an opportunity to do better, and an education for the vulnerable persons. You lead us to be more caring and knowledgeable. You have changed me. I try to be kinder now and more understanding (without allowing them to steal from me) the scammers and spangers. Sometimes the mean me slips out still with the social security scammers.
I agree. I use to be a bit racist about Nigerians just being scummy scammers but watching these videos opened my eyes up to realise they are human too. They live in terrible conditions and even though what they do is extremely wrong I'm glad there are people like "Ben Dover" to give these guys a way out

I think the guy just grew up in a very insular socially conservative mormon community and kudos to him for how far away from the cult mindset he's come.
I wouldn't take the line about finding good employees as anything more than a phrase he hears a hundred times a day from the people around him, and a line he thought people would find amusing.

Scammers: you really need a wake up call. I think Ben Dover is one of the nicest guys here on RUclips that’s trying to call out your foul play. Other channels and people are not so forgiving of you, so quit your act before Life doesn’t go the way you expect it.
Yes he's definitely more nicer I would've been. Someone tried to scam recently and I played along before blocking and report him. I have no compassion for scammers.
Scam baiting is fun, but when you scam bait and give them an ultimatum and they keep trying to scam just shows how far gone some of these guys are

As someone who’s looking for work. I’ve applied plenty of times to multi jobs. All claiming to be lacking employees.
And they don’t seem particularly interested in hiring dispute the shortage. In fact sometimes they don’t even do interviews. So yeah it feels like shortages are more an employer problem from my angle.
100% I've worked for a few companies and when ever someone in management complains about how hard it is to find people I always ask "How do you plan to overcome this challenge?". I usually get one of two responses "We are going to up the incentives for working here" (aka, work from home and pay increases) or "umm..... nothing?"
If they hire they can’t keep getting loans from the government. They just want robots who can’t afford to live in a house and pay for food.

You could perhaps look into such organizations that declare they require workers but aren't physically engaging anyone. It's happening all across Arizona, where everyone pretends they wouldn't have any professionals but just doesn't recruit anyone.
That's less of a scam and more just wasting people's time

My brother tried to find a part-time job in Dallas and he reached out and applied to at least 20 places who were advertising "help wanted," "now hiring," and such things, but none of them contacted him back

It's happening all over. In Tennessee, it seems to be decent pay in some places, but it turns out to not be full time or slightly less than 40, meaning no benefits are offered. I've noticed the same jobs by the same companies have been posted on certain job sites for the past two years at least. Is that to fill up the job sites or do employees keep leaving these jobs? Scams are prevalent among these too
I think you need to realize that it’s not that employers can’t find good employees it’s that employers don’t want to pay a living wage. It took me 14 months to find a suitable job while everybody’s told me my resume is impressive. I also work in customer service and my job requires a bachelor‘s degree. we do make more money than accountants sometimes for the record. Sheesh. I like your content but those opinions are misguided lol
I hate when people look down upon other profession. Without good customer service, paying customers will leave if they can't get the help they need 🙄

Does anyone see the Veranome profile picture on Harville’s Skype account? He’s running this scam as many legitimate businesses.
Employment scammers message me regularly. So I am very familiar with this format. Some of the stuff that I’ve seen in this video is identical or very similar to what I’ve seen, including the justification they have for conducting an interview via text instead of through the phone or through a video call. Also, they always introduce the company name by putting it in parentheses. And people are introduced as Mr. or Mrs., which is very formal and old-fashioned in most industries today, at least in the western world.

When the 🇳🇬 scammer began speaking on the phone, we were just shaking our heads with his ridiculous fake accent. Shame on people who dedicate their time to scam people and impersonate companies for job Ads. Hopefully he gets caught someday and prosecuted. Thanks @Pleasant Green for spreading awareness through your videos.

I work for a medium sized automotive company in Austria with about 4,800 employees and we're ALWAYS hiring, all year long, everytime!
Just last year we expanded by about 10% in the R&D departement alone! That's a MASSIVE growth considering the overall size of the company!
In my departement alone we now increased capacity by about 25% with loan-workers/part-time-workers (don't know the english term; people that are employed by another company but you can lend them for like 6 months...)
But... And there's always a but: Nowadays companies are looking for highly educated people. With a regular high school diploma you won't get anything that can sustain life...

Also good portion of the jobs listed you need a license I ain't hiring some hobo to take care of my granny or to fix my plumbing. My GF is perfect in cosmetology but they have denied her once she said she doesn't have her license. They love her portfolio but credentials are a must for certain fields you can't just say "nah bro mr.miyagi taught me"

But I agree college is overrated but if you take the route of not going to college you have to be ready to work your ass of in actual physically demanding jobs with minimal pay at the beginning. The advantage of college is getting a corporate position where you fake working( doing excels, answering emails etc) and get paid just sitting in an office.

Obviously scamming is not good, but this is a bigger problem than "just stop doing it". Everyone is human, so if you were born in Nigeria there's a high chance you would also be a scammer. Same with anyone else. The fact that people are scamming really shows their desperateness. In a place where lots of people scam, people do not feel too bad about doing this because it's what everyone does. There are so many examples of this throughout the world, it's just human nature. What's even worse than scamming is the wealth difference between people throughout the world. I say this because someons wealth is heavily influenced by where they are born and who their parents are, which are completely uncontrollable. People in the US who cannot afford to go to collage might work at a store, while people in some parts of the world have no choice to do any job their entire life, even if they are the smartest person in the world. There's no clear way to fix this though. But the people who are scamming don't have too many choices on what they do. And of source someone in Nigeria would respond to your tweet, because they know who you are. But to someone who doesn't, why would they trust you? You cannot blame the guy for not wanting a job from you.

A former co-worker was engaged to one--and in the Nigerian's defense, he was also a co-worker.
Things nonetheless did go south as the guy ended up skipping town for reasons unknown (he also disappeared from the office overnight).

I got called just yesterday from “Amazon” about someone trying to make a couple of purchases worth up to $1,998 ,or whatever, from my account. They wanted my bank info so they can contact the bank themselves and let them know this purchase was fraudulent 😂. I wasted about an hour and a half of their time and it was the most fun I’ve had in a while.

Thank you for this video! Just last week, my elderly aunt got scammed with an Amazon scam. She received a text telling her, her Amazon account had suspicious activity in the amount of $450… she doesn’t have an Amazon account 😤 but she clicked the link anyway. The scammer had her download 3 spyware apps with gave them access to see everything she was doing on her phone, so they could walk her through exactly what she needed to do. They directed her to login to her banking app an instructed her to send $500 through Zelle 😫😤😡. She was about to give them even more information, but they got greedy an asked for her debit card number which was suspicious to her, so She ended the call and called me frantically😢 fortunately when I called the bank, the funds were still on hold, so we were able to cancel the transaction. We had to change all of her bank account information and we brought her a new phone since they corrupted her old phone.
Ben tried to help this man and he just brushes him away. A shame that individuals choose a criminal enterprise over serving a legitimate purpose.

Hi Ben! Big fan here and I love your videos!! While scamming is wrong on all levels, I truly feel bad for Nigerians as their government is so corrupt and opportunities are pretty limited. That still doesn’t justify scamming other innocent people, and I pray for a positive long-term resolution, as Nigerians are some of the most intelligent people in the world! You should investigate these employers who claim they need employees but it’s some kind of scam because they’re not actually hiring people it’s all over Omaha everybody claims they have no employees but yet they don’t hire anybody

My latest favorite scam attempts mimick the text message systems sending you a verification code. The code is for a bank account access request and includes a link to click on in case "This isn't you" - because that's totally how it works. Messages are for a bank I'm not a part of, come from an e-mail address in the UK for a US bank, and are not from the traditional 5-digit text numbers. Laughed the first time I got one; received 3 now. all from the same address but, funny, the link keeps changing. First time I have seen this but that could be a future video.
Hitting them where it hurts pleasant way to stick it to these Nigerian scammers. Great video content as always

Okay first of all Ben, think as they are forced to think. Choices are man-know-man, juju priest, scamming, police job-scamming the public to make up for the police commissioner taking his cut from your salary, armed robbery, or honest to goodness laborer. Some of these kids have college degrees but there is no work in the country. As they say, long-throat catch them as they see their friends driving nice cars, with pretty Nigerian igbo girls, smoking stogie, ear piercing music... they want that too. Not in 10 years, right now.
I am with you giving these Nigerians opportunity to shine. However honest work that comes once every week/month/year vs scam every day... scamming feeds them daily. Thanks for for what you do, I hope you can run a scam-a-thon help Nigerian scammers get honest work.

I get so many scams come thru to do with the Mail- telling me my products will be sent back to the supplier when I haven’t even ordered anything or that they missed me and will be charging me to reschedule a time to deliver - it’s all fake and amazon scams too! 🤣

Hello Pleasant Green, I love your videos, they are a lot of fun to watch, I wish I could pull the chain on some of the scam calls I get, but I don't get very far. I really don't know how to go about this, but I received an email the other day I could tell was a scam and I thought you might like it, if you are interested please reply.
Going back into the job market was very difficult for me after I came back from energy aid because of all the scams and how much I lost real opportunities because I thought they were scams. It’s really disheartening and raid inducing. When people do things like this luckily I did not lose any money but I did lose my trust in putting my application online and that’s hard to do.
It’s very difficult and I don’t think résumé should be out to the public I believe that if they request and ask for it should be a different story but because it’s to the public they are more likely to spam you.
They’re not struggling to find “good employees,” they’re struggling to find people who wanna work for $9 an hour. Nobody wants to work hard labor for no money anymore. Raise pay to a livable wage & then you won’t struggle to find employees.
The best scammer name I ever saw was on an employment scam email from a person named Warehouse Gallipoly. No, it wasn’t the faux company’s name. The email opened with, “My name is Warehouse Gallipoly.”

Ben, you are so correct about how scammers prey on people posting public resumes. A word to everyone, NEVER post your resume on job boards and make it public. You will NEVER hear from legit employers, only scammers pushing pyramid schemes or fake jobs like this one. If you really want to get a job, you need to network like there's no tomorrow. Companies always hire from internal contacts first (friends and family of current employees) and don't even look at the job boards (why you never hear back when you apply). If someone contacts you claiming they found your resume on (insert job board name here), your phone number or email didn't load up properly, are very vague about the job description, and heavily insist that you come in for an interview then it is most likely for a pyramid scheme selling insurance or something along those lines. If you really want to get a job, your best way is to ask your friends and family to put in a good reference at the companies they work at and not by posting on online job boards.

These scams they are doing really stink since the ones they are targeting are people without jobs who really need the money. Thank you for your channel and educating all of us about these scams plus it has been refreshing to see that some of the scammers you have contacted indeed have done honest work for honest pay.
Just got scammed this week. I decided to do some digging,I was linked to a reliable guy who helped me out in issues like this, security have chosen to only receive fraud case and never helped out, but all thanks to him I got hold of what I lost again ⬇️

It's always too painful seeing talented individuals using their skills for scam. Though things seems to be tough here in Nigeria, but if anyone here can be talented enough to scam, then the person has gone some steps above the masses and can use their skill to live a better life.
Most of these people here are just lazy and wants fast money. It's just so annoying when I see them and they talk like that's the only way

Biggest plot twist is that the Nigerian graphic designer is actually from Canada or the US and pretended to be from a third world country for the job.
geez how many scammers are from nigeria? and according to google it's one of the poorest countries,maybe the guy you talked to was right it is hard for them over there to get a job,it must be difficult living in a poor country struggling to live and put food on your plate you did try offering him a job,that would've been helpful if he accepted
Fun story. I got a scammer who posed as an army deployed soldier on IG who messaged me. "She" kept probing for info and told me contradicting stories. Then when "she" thought they could hit me with the grift, said they were hungry and had no money for food. This went on a bit. Eventually, I kept calling them out and actually got them to admit they were lying. So once I got them to admit that, I told them about your channel. I offered to give them 50 dollars in whatever method they wanted if they would create a sign and go out with it like Pleasant Green's other video where he made it a contest. This person refused and wouldn't do it. So I just had to report and block them. Sad that some just want to do the grift for a chance of money instead of guaranteed money by doing something legitimate.
So i was on whatsapp talking with my friends and then i got this message come up and what yu know a message saying that they were from a samsung we were trying to contact you for awhile now about u won a S22. So yh but i knew better so i search the first three numbers of the contact on google and what ya know its nigeria so i told them to f off and dont contact me again or ill call the nigeria police to arrest you.
