I loved the Gregg Allman band so much better than what the Allman Bros had gotten to ...towards the end ....they played just jams ...and all the songs were so dang long ....and they had gotten rid of all the soul in them ...this has whatever that it is ....this sounds amazing !!!! Like a band on a mission !!!!!
pulled over in a church parking lot and cried listening to the cd-received it at work and couldn't wait to get home.....so much to the entire project...thank you so very much. mimi
I saw him at the Bronco Bowl bowling alley in Oak Cliff, with Edgar Winter, the venue seated about 400 people on some orange fiberglass bleacher seats, the worst seat in the house, you could still get sweat flung on you when he whipped his hair. It was during the time when he was married to Cher. After the concert We went behind the bowling alley and I met Leon Russell, and Greg Allman. Both of them partied like I did back then. Edgar Winter had already left. He did his show dressed in a long coat like boy george, I couldent figure it out, till he played Frankenstein and acted like he was hanging from the neck, cool effect . overall one of the best concerts I ever saw and Meeting Greg Allman was unforgettable !! R.I.P. Brother Thanks for the Music !!
What a voice! And despite the hell he put his body through, his voice held up remarkably well. What soul! And great song too. One of my biggest regrets is never seeing him or the ABB perform live.
Ryan Hall Everyone poured from the venue in a hush - jaws on the floor - hearts pounding & awestruck - couldn't wait to tell everyone what you just saw.
Ryan, I'm sorry you never got to see The Allman Brother's Band, too. I saw them several times, (when they came to Detroit), and they left a mark on my soul. Not one group compares to the Allman Brother's Band. ...and Gregg Allman? No one is his equal.
Bye Gregg,... It's something like 40 years ago that I've heard "Black hearted woman" for the first time... you've always been around my musical preferences since then... I'll miss you.
On the one hand it's sad that we'll not ever hear another new song from him. On the other it's great to know that as,a band and solo he's put out so much fantastic music that he and his brother will always be remembered.
I LOVE this song. I need to buy Low Country Blues tomorrow! I have been a huge fan of Gregg for 30+ years...happy to see his health & heart has gotten better. Peace & Love.
Daylight again, memories fall like rain Reminds you to take it slow One step at a time, baby Till you find your way Back to the big show Places you've been Things that you've done Somehow, you're still on the run Just another rider On that train to nowhere Just another fool Too far from home Just another stranger Tryin' to get somewhere Somewhere, but you're still all alone Watching the world passin' you by 'Cause you tell everybody you must be cursed Tell them all how you try, try, try But your luck keeps getting worse Seems like such a long long time Since you've had, a little piece of mind Just another rider On that train to nowhere Just another fool Too far from home Just another stranger Tryin' to get somewhere Somewhere but you're still all alone Punch your ticket, drop your load It's time for you, time for you to get on board I know you love it You know it too What in the world has become of you Do you remember, blue skies were shinin' Money flowed, flowed like wine You had a real good woman Yes, she was sure, she was sure enough fine Storm clouds risin' in from the sea Winds are blowin' cold reality Just another rider On that train to nowhere Just another fool Too far from home Just another stranger Tryin' to get somewhere Somewhere but you're still all alone
Can feel the maturity of the voice which is softly supported by the instruments all the while preserving that AB feel. Smooooooth. Dim the lights, sip from a glass of your favorite cocktail, close your eyes, listen, d r i f t away. Yup great talented musician and writer there for our pleasure.
Gregg always has surrounded himself with great musicians on all his solo projects. Good for them, him and all listeners!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been a listener for over 40 years now.I agree all are awesome hear and this saxman has the right touch. Over the top!
first time caller....long time listener...! Heard this on my favorite local radio station KOCI 101.5 FM Costa Mesa/Newport Beach, CA Rock on Gregg (and Rounder Records!)
Thanks SO much for posting this awesome video. Always a devoted fan of THE most soulful singer and consummate musician on the planet, I'm knocked out by 'Low Country Blues,' Thanks for sharing the love, Gregg. Peace and Good Health to You!
I saw him 4 days ago (April 26th) in Philly - Excellent show!! The Tower Theater is a great place for a concert. Great seats & great sound! I was very pleased! As always! From Fast Eddys-Mc in Elmer, New Jersey
I tried looking on Allman Bros site "Hitten the Note". All kinds of AllmanBros shows to order but, nothing on solo touring band. I agree great sound. Saw them a couple of years ago with Honeytribe in Red Bank NJ
Anyone know where to get albums from Greg's solo band? This version of this song, and the sound they have is much different from the band that play's behind him on low country blues. The album is still good, but his live band is virtually a group of all stars.
Really disappointed in his Low Country Blue cd. It is not recorded with this tour band but should have been. These guys are way better a band. Gregg is awesome. Wish the cd would have been recorded with this band. Sharrard, Katz, Collins, Miles, wow, they are the greatest. Seen them in Midland, Tx. Jan. 5, 2013. Great show. Gregg, u still have what it takes, as always. Plz record with this band. Love you.
RUclips steals my music...Gregg sent come and go blues...there was a reason..we both had fast lives and so many different roads..sad..He knew he was dying...I don't want to know myself
We miss you so bad. 🙏 RIP Mr blues man

Gregg was a dream to me the man his music and singing the blues his love for music and us will last forever
Daylight again, memories fall like rain
Reminds you to take it slow
One step at a time, baby
Till you find your way
Back to the big show
Places you've been
Things that you've done
Somehow, you're still on the run
Just another rider
On that train to nowhere
Just another fool
Too far from home
Just another stranger
Tryin' to get somewhere
Somewhere, but you're still all alone
Watching the world passin' you by
'Cause you tell everybody you must be cursed
Tell them all how you try, try, try
But your luck keeps getting worse
Seems like such a long long time
Since you've had, a little piece of mind
Just another rider
On that train to nowhere
Just another fool
Too far from home
Just another stranger
Tryin' to get somewhere
Somewhere but you're still all alone
Punch your ticket, drop your load
It's time for you, time for you to get on board
I know you love it
You know it too
What in the world has become of you
Do you remember, blue skies were shinin'
Money flowed, flowed like wine
You had a real good woman
Yes, she was sure, she was sure enough fine
Storm clouds risin' in from the sea
Winds are blowin' cold reality
Just another rider
On that train to nowhere
Just another fool
Too far from home
Just another stranger
Tryin' to get somewhere
Somewhere but you're still all alone
Thanks for the accurate words...I don't know why, but after the chorus, I want to say, 'oh by the way, I'm bound for roam..." (multi colored lady).

This is the song I like best on the "CD" called: Low Country Blues.
me too!
Gregg is the forgotten American Master, he ranks with Bruce,Tom Petty and John Mellancamp as voices of my generation.Peace and Health.
Anyone know where to get albums from Greg's solo band? This version of this song, and the sound they have is much different from the band that play's behind him on low country blues. The album is still good, but his live band is virtually a group of all stars.
Alright, From the top!
gregg is a lonewolf,,,,,,
if this song don't get u into some sort of grov and make u move than your broken.
Why isn't this take the one in the album?! I like it so much better!
No, I believe it's "Smokey" Potts, possibly from Booker T's band.
Correct....Steve Potts ....great drummer
🤘🎇🎉🎊💙
Who is the other pianio player? Its not Dr. John who seems to be the only one credited on the record. What's up with that?
gute Musik.....
It seems to me that this version has more lyrics than the version I am familiar with.
I actually like this version better than the one on the actual CD. It seems like on the cd the tempo is slower. I like the song anyhow.
This is Gregg's solo band, not the band who recorded the album.
Really disappointed in his Low Country Blue cd. It is not recorded with this tour band but should have been. These guys are way better a band. Gregg is awesome.
