I like this version the best. Gregg takes us to church on this! I feel like I am at an old fashioned revival and I need to repent! It sounds very spiritual. Great Job Rev. Gregg!
I met Brother Greggory twice first back in the middle 70 s I used to work on the soundboard at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic NJ and the Brothers came thur there quite often in those days the second time was in 2015 at Morristown community theatre in New Jersey he was just going back on the road after his first battle with cancer very soft spoken and kind and personable after a couple of minutes of talking to him you could call him a friend. I miss you Gregg God bless
Great upload thanks - The "Floating Bridge"is as life for five long years drank muddy water more than a human can stand but people screamin’ and cryin’ said save that boy it was not my day the Lord said son its not your day. Nice to see Greg in form sounding great, Yeah my country blues
One of the best is the music business...excellent track,,,ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS VERSION, should have won a GRAMMY for LOW COUNTRY BLUES, (was nominated)...OUTSTANDING CD...!!!! BluesReview....
Wonderful homage to my good friend John Adam ( Sleepy John ) Estes. Bad enough even you aren't blind, but if, like John, you are...( which way's up?! )! A great example of a great poetic talent! Thanks Gregg, for cutting this! ( I played the hell out of Low Country Blues on my radio show. I can't remember if it got the Grammy, but it sure as hell should have! )
Johnny Parnell You're so correct! Gregg was open & raw. I watched it for the...., well, actually too many times to count. I believe that Gregg was so open & honest, in every single word he said. I have loved that gentleman's music since I was 11 years old. I thank my Brother (who is 10 years my Senior, and my BF's Brother who is 9 years my Senior) for introducing me to so much GREAT & REAL,music. That has been many years past.(you know that a lady never tells her age, lol) but I'll give a 40 year hint. lol When I text/talk to people that I graduated with and they play something for TBT, normally I am clueless to the worst "pop music of the last half of the 70's, and the music of the 80's, is horrible. Did any great NEW R&R music come out of the 80's? If it did, it was by established Bands We did get Bon Jovi, Journey, Aerosmith, etc. That's a hard question. Back to G.A. and his interview; I realized how truly shy, a man of few words, who really gave the questions a lot of thought before answering. Quite intelligent, regarding other things besides music. I think that he had a heart of gold 💛! Did you notice that the interview was done in 15', and upon questioning him regarding his marriages, and the potential of another, his response was one of never marrying again? So how does Shannon, fit in as his wife? Interesting. I know 1 thing for sure, this Southern lady is going to miss that Southern man as an individual, and the "Very Best White Soul & Blues Singer; ever!" Sorry for such a long text, my bad; but I could talk all day about "his sweet, kind hearted soul, and what a legacy he left behind." I know that his "Soulshine is Shining Brightly."😊🖒🎹🎸🎶🎤🎷💜🕇
I like anything he sang, he was a good MUSICIAN, NO RAP!!He played idk how many instruments & he was gonna be a Dentist, he went to school for it!!!!!!!
GREAT COVER OF OLD SLEEPY JOHN ESTES SONG. THE COMMENT SECTION ON THE CLAPTON COVER OF THIS SONG HAS AN EXCELLENT DESCRIPTION OF WHAT THE FLOATING BRIDGE WAS/CHECK IT OUT.
