I lived in Louth for thirteen years and with a father from Monaghan, have always felt a connection to the Ulster Cycles and Cu Chulainn. Bringing these stories to a Von is a real treat. Makes you wonder why they seem to want to hide so much of it from us. It's like they are scared of what that knowledge might unlock in the dna and tribal memory of those who have a genetic connection to these myths. Also makes me wonder the effect, the loss of these myths and stories has. Thanks for breathing life into these wonderful tales as we arrive at Walpurgis/Bealtaine Thomas.

Once again a fantastic VoN. It's interesting to read about the true nature of the Elves in England. They're often very mischievous and will shoot the unsuspecting with invisible arrows. In the Anglo Saxon chronicles there are passages written describing cures for elf arrows.

Cuchullan resonated with me as soon as I read about him (and the Ulster Cycle) in 2007. It’s the outsider/insider, getting the girls (and Goddesses) and supernatural kicking of ass I think lol. The other guy Finn Macool didn’t impress me as much

Really great to hear you delve into Cuchulainn and the Ulster Cycle on this day... as a young boy this saga in its various tellings was the most affecting and inspiring story for me in the formative years, just as it was meant to be for all Irish lads. The example of the riastrad or warp-spasm state even helped me I think in a few minor altercations I had as a young fella...Thanks Thomas

In the book “Walpurgis Night - Dark Folk Magic of Europe and the Rise of the Nazi Occult”, Thomas writes about various aspects of Hitler’s charismatic powers, including the deliberate writing of “Mein Kampf” in such a way as to maximise the manipulative effect of the message, with this taking precedence over the writing style. Hitler’s normal speaking voice was unusually deep, as demonstrated by a rare recording by the Finnish intelligence service, and someone has used AI to render some Hitler quotes into English in his normal voice (as opposed to his voice in formal speeches). The result is quite startling, particularly if you are not fluent in German. There are a few RUclips videos on this. (See "How Hitler Would Sound Speaking English".)

I've been venerating the holy salmon for a few years now. It started when inwas thinking about life and meaning and I started to think about the life cycle of the salmon. So I looked up mythology about the salmon and found out about the salmon of wisdom. I also found out that the salmon is venerated in numerous other culture's. I don't see the holy salmon as a god but some kind of Divine principle, that the less said about it the better as the symbol expresses the principle the best.

I know exactly what you mean with Cú Chulainn's so-ugly-he's-pretty look. I always think of young Vincent Gallo as the epitome of that. It's like, even in his beauty there's a liminal aspect, and he occupies a space between extreme gorgeousness and extreme hideousness, and the alchemical result transcends both.
