Hi mate ive got a 2004 211 E55 AMG which i imported from japan to the middle east, the biggest prob being the radio stations wont go beyond 89Mhz. Can the region be changed using the engineering mode or will i have to get a whole new head unit

Its the actual slot on the Headunit itself for watching films.
the headunit in the front is CD and i found a hidden 6disc changer under it. AlsoCD ,the disc is DVD. Can you make a video of it if possible please?

Yours is the only method to get to the engineering mode menu that I have seen. And sadly mine also has the update that means I can't get DVD in motion. Was for the kids to watch through the gap rather than myself. I can live without Peppa pig

Yes, from MB Dealership, they are very expensive however!

You will to get it coded on STAR Diagnostic - Bare in mind this is actually illegal to use while driving however!
no I wont watch them driving, how can I watch a dvd? when I put a dvd in, it says disk error, in the single slot on top! :(
Does your COMAND look the same as the one in the video? or slightly newer looking menus etc? - it should work. have you checked multiple discs?
and its not illegal every where, depends on where you live ;-)
yes looks the same, how do I make it play, is there a trick to this? doesn't say DVD anywhere on my system though..
nice video Mate. after i did that i got on the screen software update stuck do you know how to remove that and make the radio work again.
You would need to remove the CMOS battery from the back of the COMAND unit to reset it - even then it may not work 100% - Good luck!

@@killerhertzmercedes i did yesterday that but unfortunately, i didn't find the CMOS battery I had to take all the units apart and put it back together nothing there

With all due respect, this video is very misleading. Although you are correct that the Dr Dist., Backdoors, and Reg Code were removed from the 30 Week of 2006, however all you need to do is simply downgrade the firmware to Week 17 of 2004 to reinstate the function. After that, you may change the settings you mentioned, and after you change them to suit your needs, you may upgrade again to the 30/2006 firmware and the settings will remain. Contrary to Internet rumors, downgrading COMAND NTG1 firmware will NOT brick your COMAND.mercedes-benz.nexttechnology.us/files/COMAND/W211_W219/NTG1/COMAND_211_219-W211%20589%2006%2022%2000%20SW-Rel%209.390%20Build%201704.iso
Hi there, thanks for your comments. Yes its (in theory) always possible to downgrade a firmware, however calling my video misleading I do not agree with.
I created this video to save people from wasting their time as there are loads of videos out their claiming you can access all these features still on any version.

You are correct until you started “the only way to enabled is to plug your car into Star...”. I do agree with you that it is foolish and endangers people’s lives by attempting to watch videos. One should be paying attention to the road, no a video or movie.
