Casey - This was EXTRAORDINARILY helpful! You are a great teacher. THIA was SO helpful that my head hurts - in a good way! Perfect for someone who is beyond being an absolute beginner - but who needs someone to weave together these several concepts that may seem obvious to experts - but are stumpers for beginning / intermediates. Utterly EXCELLENT! The tip about rendering movies - and using the Down Arrow vs the yellow text beside it?!?!!? DOH! I'd like to know how many people you saved from insanity with that "elephant in the room" tip. A thousand thank yous! I can't wait to subscribe and watch your other movies.
Thanks for the tips! As a beginner to After Effects it's already a lot easier to use after watching this. Just knowing B for beginning and N for end has made editing a lot faster for a start.
Bro ,Thanks a bunch .I was actually looking for ''HOW TO PLAY OR RENDER VIDEOS IN SEQUENCE ''.And finally i got it. Thank you so much bro.You just made my day
Hey, hi! nice tutorial, it helped a lot, but i have a few questions, i hope you can help me out: I'm trying to make a Machinima movie, but i don't know how to go from one scene to another, i mean: do i have to make scene per scene, render it out and put it all together in another software (like Sony Vegas, for example)? ori can make a full lenght movie all in After Effects?
I agree, Mike Jduk. I am very new to After Effects and video editing, but I came across this video because I wanted to combine 3 different compositions I've created into a single one. I know very well how to open the program, add video footage and trim the footage to the desired portions. A 1-3 minute video exclusively covering combining scenes would have been much more helpful.
hi man ,explain this to me i added about 5 videos clips to the time line and i notice that the first and the second clips are the only one after effect navigate throw them and when i pointed out the the other 3 i didn't get a hold on them i can't navigate throw the other 3clips ,and i did zoom out when i hit keyfram assistant and sequence layers it drop WAY so far i can't reach it how to fix that
Thanks i supposed pretty helpful but do we /have/to have EVERY single tiny clip in layers? :/ Its not optional? what if i wanna fuse them all one one layer/timeline ? can i do this? so far looks not
i have 3 videos cause im trying to do a gaming video, and i accidentally (when using fraps) put my gaming footage into 3 parts. I highlighted them all and did as you said and used sequence layers, now its all 1 line however i cannot view the end of the timeline, it shows me the first 30 seconds and i can no longer scroll. Whats going on?
VaporTrailMix Ikr, Kinda messed me up to. I needed to put 10 clips together from league of legends and I couldn't get them in order. Maby just cause I suck at editing.
Max Gaming So I figured it out not long after just drag the timelines to where you want them. The one on top is always in a layer above so you can do crossfade transitions using opacity.
VaporTrailMix I thought I could just simply Copy 1 through 10 and drag them then you can put them through order. I didn't have space to even drag my timelines.
the transition between the two clips is too fast. i have the same problem with all my videos. how can we make the transition smoother like professional videos?
See, I don't get it. Anyone reaching the stage of wanting to combine scenes is surely beyond 'Opening' the program and 'Knowing where and what the timeline is for' so why waste time explaining these things? When doing a tutorial, get to the facts relevant to the title, otherwise people just switch off because you're going over stuff they already know. If they don't know the layout of AE then they're unlikely to be exploring how to combine scenes.
I created only 3 quick animations but now need to create a minute long video with multiple scenes for a project so this is helpful. Your generalization is inaccurate. You can always skip parts you already know.

Your video was helpful; I learned a few things. Thanks
i found out what i was looking for, thank you
Good tutorial , good explanation !
This really helped me out. Thanks!
Thx sssssoooooooo mmmmuuucccccccchhhhhh I've waited so long
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????? 15 MINUTES ON HOW TO JUST PUT MULTIPLE SCENES???? DOES IT HAVE TO BE THAT LONG??? omfg
Jeremy Julliana You don't have to watch the full thing... Idiot.
Max Gaming He should make it more simpler I can do the same thing in 10 seconds.
He has to make sure he covers all the steps and explains things. I'm sure he gets this done a lot quicker on his own.
Great teacher! Thanks casey!
Thanks for the help!
keep up the good work mate
Thanks helped a lot
Thank you so much mate

THANK YOU VERY MUCH,,,,!!!!!! Like it. I will subscribe

Thank you.
Dude, how to smooth Transition between Scene to others ? im kind New practicing in After Effect +Casey Farina
Thanks
If only I knew about that Sequence Layer Trick several hours ago.
how do you do one layer ontop another?
i have 3 videos cause im trying to do a gaming video, and i accidentally (when using fraps) put my gaming footage into 3 parts. I think you made your composition duration 30 sec , you have to make the duration equal the sum of your videos duration or more
Did i miss something because my ae keeps crashing after dragging files down
I did this but when I preview it won't show both layers, just the first
5:35 The order DOES matter, thats the whole point of combining clips. So how do you rearrange them? You don't mention how to do that in the video.
VaporTrailMix Ikr, Kinda messed me up to. I needed to put 10 clips together from league of legends and I couldn't get them in order. Maby just cause I suck at editing.

Either way I got it working in another editor thanks for the help. My video is finished uploading to.
u need to be a teacher !!! really u explained everything so beautifully..Thanx
The two pieces are still split, I tought you were gonna tell us how to combine de pieces into a single block.
Hey guys, the point is at 4:35
the transition between the two clips is too fast. i have the same problem with all my videos. how can we make the transition smoother like professional videos?
Where does the video actually start and end? I garun-fucking-tee that it doesn't take 15 minutes to combine layers?

I am doing a project in AE and I never opened the program, so the tutorial helps me.
