    Clever!!! I was curious about that. I reckon it would be great for a Stock Silver Can 380 or 540.... But it seems underpowered for most upgrade Motors.

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  2 года назад +1

      Yeah in general they're really only any good for stock motors. Although I run the Super Stock RZ in a couple of cars with a fan and it's been good. Had some overheating issues in my Top Force but I think that's just due to the lack of airflow with the body and undertray. The TBLE-04S is the same specs as the TBLE-02S with the exception of the hi/low battery cut off. 👍

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Mikael. This one came with the Fighter Buggy RX Memorial. I must have got lucky, most others seem to get the TBLE-02S with theirs. No the brushless limit on these is 15.5t. The brushed limit is 25t, same as the TBLE-02S. But I'm sure we can run slightly lower turn motors by adding a fan. The only real advantage of the 04S over the 02S is the hi voltage cut off. Will save us having to run a LiPo alarm. Hope you are going well mate! 👍

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC 3 года назад +1

      @@RCHobbyShed 15.5T. Good to hear. But strange it’s still higher than the old TBLE-02S. Yeah, I think my Memorial comes with the 02S too. As far as I have seen only the releases coming up this summer in Europe got the new one. I’m looking forward trying out that cut off.

    Nice one Mick, this kind of video is always a big help to RC fans. I only have one LiPo! But 6.2v sounds like the ideal cut-off point for a 7.2v LiPo to run down to - funny that, as Tamiya say it's not designed to support LiPo batteries!!! What do you reckon, mate, as I'm a novice when it comes to these batteries! :)

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  3 года назад

      Thanks Mark. I usually use a LiPo alarm with my TBLE-02S's, I set it at 3.2v-3.4v per cell most of the time. So that's 6.4v-6.8v total for 2s. 2.8v-3v would be an absolute minimum for me (5.6v-6v total). So I think 6.2v total is on the low side (especially since it's an "approximate" number, so may still go a tad lower) but still good for LiPo's. I think Tamiya's main concern with LiPo's is the fact that people may run right on the motor limit, and add in a high C rated LiPo, maybe gearing too high as well and POP! I think it's just easier for them to not recommend them rather than deal with all the warranty claims. I believe the LiFe batteries are safer too, which is why they're trying to push them but they're expensive. Well, that's my theory anyway lol. 👍

    Got one of these with a Grasshopper 2 Black Edition Kit. Unfortunately it has the issue that the connected motor starts moving, when I move the servo (CH1/Steering). Maybe a noise issue or something like that. Replaced every component including servo and motor, tried caps on different receivers etc., but the problem only went away completely, when I replaced the ESC with a TBLE-02S I still had laying around.

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  2 года назад +2

      Lol I actually did it three times. You set it with the button on the ESC, not the transmitter. You don't need the transmitter turned on, I only turn in on in the video to stop the ESC beeping because there was no TX signal.
      Using the button on the ESC you can toggle between hi/low.
      1. Turn the power ESC power on while holding the ESC Button down, the ESC will start cycling through colours.
      2. Release the button when it gets to green.
      3. If the ESC was in HI, it will now be in LOW, or vice versa...
      A short beep indicates the ESC in set to LOW cut off, a long beep indicates the ESC is in Hi cut off.
      Hope this helps! 👍
