This! XD XD XD

It's impressive that Einar's taught himself this language. Many foreigners may think that this is a language that Norwegians understand, but it's not similar to Norwegian. It's just a few words here and there you can understand by just understanding Norwegian.
Learning Norwegian right now so I can sing these songs. What should I be learning instead
@@barriesandcream Icelandic is closer to old norse.
@@barriesandcream No, instead, learn Islandic, it is more closely related to old norse.
Funny that it's in Old Norwegian and that those who moved to Iceland were Norwegians speaking Old Norwegian and now they speak the language closest to Old Norwegian than Norwegian. (blame denmark)
I remember seeing Einar in an interview that Gaahl knew the language better than he did originally and hes had to learn it. Im glad he did as his music has scratched an itch i didnt know needed scratching since I fell in love with Clannads music in the 1980s

Its so fucking strange. With this ost I want to play this game even if its shitty. Cinematic looks WAAAAY better with this music

^^
That's kind of an ironic statement, given Norse faith and views.
Everything must end, so that there may be beginnings. All endings lead into new beginnings. Everything is circular in it's nature, balanced and perfect. Even after Ragnarok, there was not an end to all life or the end of the world. Simply the death of the Norse Pantheon, and a rise of others to replace them, who carry their tales and stories into the new world as they rebuild for themselves. Much as Odin and his brothers did after the fall of their Father and Grandfather.
By the belief system they sing about and seem to hold, they likely fully expect to be replaced and accept it as the eventual reality of life, as generations and "worlds" change. Life was not a straight line. Rather, it was a circle. What changed in the circle was the names of those who lived and influenced it, shaped it, during their time in the circle.
. PERIOD. You forgot the PERIOD.

My pagan soul is in harmony with this. Dýrð sé Óðinn, faðir allra.

@@nihilnemo5421 HEY EVIE! I've been meaning to drop by the comments this whole week and I always forget to!
Again, Einar shows us that he is a messenger of Gods! :) Joking aside, Einar Selvik created another astonishing master piece. Whenever i listen to Wardruna, i find myself in awe, i am not Norwegian nor Icelandic but i listen to these songs in some type of trance/happiness. There is no other artist or band who can touch my soul like this. This is the beauty of Wardruna. Regardless of your nation he makes you feel at home! I cant be the only one who has those incredible feelings which make you dance, meditate, feel like a warrior, happy lie a little kid all at the same time! I feel all those even though i am not Nordic... This is pure talent, fascinating form of art. There is no other explanation! Congrats Einar!
I completely understand I feel the exact same as you just wrote. I do have Icelandic and Norwegian in my heritage and I am and always have loved Norway. Einar Linda and wardruna hit my heart and soul like a freight train.🇳🇴🇮🇸😍 I listen to them all the time. Blessed 🙏 be
This is ancient tunes, and worldmusic in my mind.
I think everybody can get the feeling this music is something they recognize deep down..and I am Norwegian - with old German, Danish, Swedish, Belgium, Scottish, Irish and English heritage, like most people in Scandinavia.
I'm from Puerto Rico and I absolutely love this. For some reason feel that Im at home, even thougth this is not the typical music of the island.
remember the diaspora are just as scandanavian as scandanavians usually - Take the UK - Many there their DNA is just as strongly connected to ancient norse as it is with the saxons
Desde un país tan lejano y pequeño como Chile. Entiendo perfectamente lo que describes. Wardruna es una obra de arte! ❤️
I love this, i love Wardruna
This will be the Wardruna album with game attached to it
I'd rather wait for Kvitravn album. This will be nice soundtrack to raiding southern England though. Let's just hope the AC Valhalla won't turn into typical generic Ubi bullshit. I'd want an RPG game set into universe of Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice, now that would be great.
Gods! Everything Einar touches becomes pure gold. Blessed be!! ❤❤❤
no he is not midas and they don't turn to gold they turn to Diamonds
Italian right?
What kind of sick person downvotes this? Absolute masterpiece, thank you Einar Selvik and Wardruna for all that you do! Music from the gods!
Not sure but their obviously a dud 😂
Probably a Christian😂
The sound is very different from the usual Wardruna, especially for the flute and that guitar-like instrument
It sounds like a more vigorous use of the kravik lyre...thats what I suspect, anyway.
Yeah, that's Einar Selvik's perosnal lyre used many times. You can see it in Fehu (acoustic) at Wardruna's channel
Its because this is a video game soundtrack, its supposed to be a title song. While Wardruna's songs are usually more atmospheric, this one goes more like a normal poem.
Watch this clip of Einar playing this song on his lyre live. He strums it like it was a guitar instead of finger-picking one string at a time, which is what he usually does in his music. ruclips.net/video/vy2SWxtvPeM/видео.html
Einar, i want to thank you for taking this game to a whole different level. As a fellow Norwegian i can say that this game is the closest thing to my Dream Game. Your music completes it.

Nice to see the texts translated. It’s very clear that Dutch , German, and Norwegian languages are related. I recognize a lot of words by sound and writing.
They're all Germanic. In fact, the Norse Gods are the original Gods of the Germanic people.
ᚼᚢᛅᛚᛘᛅᚱ ᚾᛁᚴᚬᛚᛅᛋᛋᚬᚾ and then came Christianity to ruin it all.
@@palantir135 unfortunately.
English used to be related until the Greek, French and many other languages influenced it.
Unless pretty much Old English.
English IS a Germanic language and looks / sounds like a Germanic language, and looks / sounds nada like Greek, pfff, and only Germanic languages can be so perfect and logical, like Dutch & English which are the prettiest and most refined languages ever with the most pretty words etc - also, Greek and most other European languages, including all Germanic languages and Celtic languages and Latin languages etc all come from the same language Proto European, anyway, and most words have always been in each new language that a certain dude created or modified, so it doesn’t mean that a word came from Greek or whatever, most base words were always in each new languages that was created from Proto European and from other languages that come from Proto European, and most languages that come from Proto European are pretty languages that were improved more and more, with each new modifying, while others were made into a non-pretty language, because not every dude that creates or modifies words and languages has such artistic talents and a logical mind, so very few dudes can create pretty words with great letter combinations and pretty word endings and pretty diphthongs etc, which is a true art, so the properly modified languages that come from Proto European are pretty, and they had a strong base, as the first words created in Proto European were nice enough for that time, but with Greek languages they became non-pretty, and then with Celtic languages and Germanic languages and the true Latin languages, they become pretty and better than ever before, as the dudes that modified those languages had a lot of talent for that time, especially the dude that created Old Norse, which is even more refined and easier to read than Modern Icelandic, so he had a lot of talent and a really good eye / ear for prettiness and harmonies, especially considering how ancient it is!
Einar nailed it totally and completely yet again. Never surprised when this happens, but always, totally, totally amazed. Wardruna is the sound of life running through my veins. Skål!!

I've been playing the AC games for a while. Very cool to see you producing music for the next game.
Why couldn't the Male protagonist be called Einar instead of Eivor!!
Funniest part is that Einar is a much more common name. But gotta be "Spechul"
They were trying to go for a gender neutral name but Eivør isn't even gender neutral, its feminine
haha they should have, especially because Eivor is typically a woman's name. I mean, they could also get the singer Eivor to do music for the soundtrack :p
@Prabh Sandhu booked?? Composers are free to take up any kind of projects.
@Ruben Feneser Actually both are canon, ''After revealing the female version, Ubisoft clarified that both were canon, and thanks to a brief clip we now have a slightly better idea of how that works. '' is from an article on pcgamer. But their sources are from Ubisoft, so it's true. Though I do understand why people would say it's the female Eivor that is canon, but it's actually debatable.
