IKAT II 2023 (Archi Interactive Camp) DAY 1
IKAT II 2023 will be held at UTAR - Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman Kampar Campus, Perak, Malaysia. This event is organised by UTAR Architecture Society. A total of 150 students and lecturers from 10 Universities in Malaysia and 1 University from Indonesia will make their way to UTAR Kampar, Perak. Besides students and lecturer from UTAR, other participating Universities are Universiti Malaya (UM) , Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), UiTM Seri Iskandar, Perak, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia - USIM, Taylor's University, MAHSA University, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TARUMT, University of Technology Sarawak (UTS), and Universitas Warmadewa.
IKAT is an Interactive Architecture Camp that focuses on exposing students towards bamboo architecture and construction through a series of talks/lectures along with a hands-on bamboo constructing activity to enhance their knowledge on the versatility of bamboo as a structural material.
The programmes of IKAT are intended to encourage related architectural learning via experiencial learning, away from the design studio environment. IKAT is an event where architecture students from various universities actively interact with the community physically and continue to develop a diplomatic relationship between universities.
THE OBJECTIVE of IKAT is to;-
1. Enhance the learning experience in design inspiration and promote bamboo architecture among architecture students.
2. Extend social networking among architecture students to inter-university level and create a gateway for architecture students to maintain a well-balanced life as a student.
3. The programmes of IKAT are intended to encourage related architectural learning via learning experience away from the design studio in a casual and fun atmosphere.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS INITIATIVE
IKAT is an inspiring sustainable green living camp organized by UTAR to serve as a catalyst for developing a green campus. This green living camp supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Malaysia as IKAT focuses on enhancing the learning experiences among architecture students on using sustainable Earth resources. Bamboo, the diamond of nature, the building material of the future is chosen to be celebrated in IKAT 2023.
