Given the creature can abuse its genetic malleability to turn into a metal cube I think it is safe to say Dvana Tendi might have stumbled upon the earliest stages of genetic engineering technology the founders used to make themselves into shape-shifting living liquid lifeforms way back before they founded the dominion and I think she deserves a science award for that.

Reminds me of Milo Murphy's* pet in "Milo Murphy's Law". He named his dog "Dee-Oh-Gee." Later in the series he meets a girl who is a female version of himself with a pet pig named "Pee-Eye-Gee." *Milo Murphy is a descendent of the man who created Murphy's Law, where anything that can go wrong will go wrong. He is cursed to have continual bad luck where everything goes wrong for him. As an example, once a year he gets 500 pre-approved excuse slips to cover all of the injuries he will receive in that year.
At the end of this particular episode, Tendi meets a real dog who does a very dog like thing and licks her face. Tendi is disgusted by it and says the dog is a "weirdo".
