Good Saturday Morning Thom. I believe your Ford N Series Farm Truck grill and front bumper were unpainted aluminum. Do an internet search for "1965 Ford N-750" in the list should be a link to the "Iowa 80 Trucking Museum" and a photo of the truck you are modeling. Just a guess on my part, but I'm thinking since Showcase Miniatures painted their truck red, this is the truck they modeled. Whats neat and a little fun bit of trivia for you, Ford assembled all of their Heavy and Medium duty trucks at their Louisville KY plant and that is how they got the nickname "The Louisville Line". Since Ford got out of the heavy duty truck business in 1997 and converted the Louisville Line to car production. My 2014 Ford Escape was assembled in Louisville. Your R 190 Stake bed truck when first delivered would have had those old round mirrors on a single pole, like the mirrors used on pickup trucks in the 1950's. I agree Thom, the Tamiya "rattle cans" spray paints are very nice products. I've used them for all of my cars I purchased from Brian Fedoroff, with very good results. Micro-Mark is my go to source for small hobby tools, plus if you're a member of the NMRA, there is a discount code you can use to get I believe 10% off your order. Those trucks look very nice Thom and being a former Truck Driver they are instantly recognizable. From left to right you have a Ford N Series, a International Harvester R series and a International Harvester Loadstar 1600 series. Cheers, Rich S.
@@RWSBaden Thanks for the inform, Rich. They don’t give much. The last truck is labeled ‘I Class Flatbed’. Thanks for letting me know about that site. I did do a search for examples of trucks. The Louisville Ford plant is called a truck plant now. They may make the Escape there but I think the bulk of their business is pickups. Don’t know a lot about it, but when they had the chip shortage they parked a lot of trucks at the Kentucky Motor Speedway in northern Ohio. Hundreds if not thousands. I think they are gone now, I’ll have to look on Google. Getting ready for the ice and snow storm here. If it’s just snow, I’ll try to plow the garden but even a thin layer of ice kills it. Stay warm and safe this weekend!
Thom, Nice work. The trucks look super nice. I used to be able to do this type of modeling but my hands and eyes don't work as well as they did 10 years ago. This is one of the reasons I built an HO layout. Thanks for sharing. Rich
@@richgreene7043 And it’s one of the reasons that I am considering the switch to HO, Rich. I can do it easily now, but how much more money do I want to invest in N scale? Have a great weekend and stay safe!
Great build Thom, they'll really help to create the atmosphere around the elevator. Cheap cars are easy enough to find but you can never find the truck you want for pennies 😄
@@edgein7892 Thanks Ed. You’re right, trucks are at a premium. I need more, would like to have 7 or 8 sitting around. Need a train show!😁 Maybe a snow plow video tomorrow. Forecast is for snow first, maybe ice later. Monday sounds like a nasty day to drive! Elevator switching tomorrow, enjoy it and stay safe!
@@thomplacier677 Saw the announcement on the elevator, it's a great addition to your layout. Gonna see what the weather is here, forecasts are mixed up so we can only wait. But there is a strange thing I noticed about forecasts. Years back temperatures of 25 to 30 Celsius were brought calmly and they're presenting it now like it was Doomsday. Same with snow. But like I said we can only wait and see, hope it doesn't get too bad at your end 😄

Hi Thom , I have some of those kits and a John Deere corn combine . I haven’t started on any of them yet. My plans for the trucks are to make pulpwood trucks. They are nice kits. I wish you showed how you put the windshield in. Thanks for sharing. Have a good weekend. 😎😎 👍
@@tommynorwood5184 Maybe I can do that on the next one I build, Tommy. To be honest, I think it’s easier just to use the canopy glue than to cut out their windshield. That’s what I did for this one. I was going to try their method and dropped the windshield and couldn’t find it. Thanks for watching. I showed how to use the glue method in this video around the 20 minute mark. I’ll put a link in the next comment. Enjoy your Sunday and stay safe!
One of my other hobbies is building model cars. If I paint a car with a spray can, it'll usually be a can of Tamiya. Very good paints. Their spray primers work very well, too and will help paint stick to the metal parts.
Your truck collection looks pretty good. I tried a can of the Tamiya paint last summer. I was pretty surprised at how well it worked. Would corn meal work better for making a load? Were in for rain, ice and snow. We have a bit of a sledding hill behind us that maybe the local kids will get to use.
@@jackheninger5471 Corn meal might be something to try. I’m sure my wife has some. Thanks for the idea. The Tamiya paint works very well for a scale. Dries quickly too. Stay warm and stay safe, Jack!

@@michaellee9975 Happy New Year to you, Michael. I started with 1 just to se how it went.
