This plan worked so well in-till Toga grabbed deku
Horikoshi is extremely underrated for creatively and meaningfully utilizing as many side characters as he can whenever possible
The problem is that there's too many side characters overall, despite all its flaws the show would already be way better if the amount of side characters was cut down by like 20-30.
@@anusaukko6792While that is true as a criticism that he started out with too many, I think the point that he STILL tries to include a lot different characters with their abilities is good. Because others could have also been completely dropped off and forgotten instead along the way. Many authors would drop off to take off the workload, but Hori still tries to include them in some ways.

@@anusaukko6792 well, there's certainly parts of the story that could have benefitted from fewer characters. But my point is that other authors would have just ignored those characters in service of the plot, like Kishimoto did in Naruto. Horikoshi really seems to care that each character gets an important moment

Just goes to show the point of the show, everyone can be a hero and sometimes you need everyone to be one. Without even some of these more "boring" powers the whole plan falls apart.

I really like what Best Jeanist said here “It’s not for fame or glory. We are just doing this because we want to protect the future.” It’s kind of a call back to Stain’s ideology of fake heroes who only cared about fame, glory and money. How when things got tough in the aftermath of the first war, it basically flushed out most if not all the fake heroes who were into it only for their own desires. And now all the real heroes who are in it for the service of others are still around, fighting to protect the future.
I just cant wait for so much of this to play out. God tier moments incoming
As someone who has been a massive Monoma fan every since he was introduced, this stuff was so PEAK for me. I remember being kinda disappointed that Monoma was introduced as this super calm and super intelligent guy and then very quickly became more like a gag in every instance after his appearance. But then one day Hori made a comment that Monoma and Shinsou would have big moments in the future. So I waited. And this did NOT disappoint. Monoma warps the heroes in, splits the villains up, hops over to Aizawa and then IMMEDIATELY has Shigaraki on lockdown. MVP Monoma for the win. I get it. Everyone is playing their part in this. But like, if Monoma wasn't here, Shigaraki could literally just insta-decay the battlefield and all of this planning wouldn't matter. I'm sure some people will come around to him after this episode. But as someone who's been a fan of his since the beginning, this episode was especially rewarding. He's the star.
Now then, that's enough Monoma analysis. Time for the others. Toga snatched Deku and threw a huge wrench in the entire operation. AFO roasting Endeavor for once again looking away from Touya and forcing the burden onto Shoto is definitely something. AFO seemingly was about to use a massive decay wave but Shigaraki seemed to stop him. Reason being, Dabi had already leapt out in front of him. So if AFO decayed everything in front of him, Dabi would've likely been caught in the crossfire. Now, despite AFO clearly being in control at the start of the battle, Shigaraki makes that comment at the end about thinking that he used to think Aizawa was cool but right now he's just a letdown. That obviously isn't AFO. Shigaraki is the only one who's ever thought Erasurehead was cool. As he said in S1 and 6. The line between AFO and Shigaraki has become so blurred that it feels like either one can step into the drivers seat at a moments notice. Despite that, there's still some resistance from Shigaraki's side(as we saw when he stopped the decay wave). Monoma pulled the strings. And now the battles are about to begin.
Monama is definitely in the top 5 most useful people in this entire battle. Along with Shinsou and of course Deku being in that top 5
That’s some really good insight. When I was reading the manga I was wondering why Shigaraki was calling to Dabi, and that makes a lot more sense. It also goes back to establishing how AFO doesn’t care for the league and sees them as disposable tools, while Shigaraki cares for his comrades and doesn’t want them to get caught in a crossfire for his decay. You also helped explain better as to the line between AFO and Shigaraki being blurred. Cause when reading the manga I was always confused who was who when Shiggy was talking. He’d say things that Shiggy would clearly say and say things that AFO would clearly say and it got confusing for me.
Endeavor didn't force anything onto Shoto though. AFO is just a sick person, so he thinks that everyone is same as him
Imagine Monoma being able to copy 10 quirks. And then the time limit is increased to 10 minutes. And instead of touching someone directly, he just needs to touch their dna sample. And he gets a support item that can store the dna of 10 quirks......
Basically just ben 10. Make monoma ben 10. He already has the watches.
He already keeps stopwatches on him.
A good combination would be one or more wrist watches built out of smaller stopwatches, so he can have them switch around which stopwatch he uses like a revolver cylinder.
Monoma has already increased both his time limit AND his quirk stock in season 5. Aizawa is just not up to date on Monoma’s training since he’s not the Class B teacher
I mean, in season 2 he slapped Kirishima's hair and got his quirk 😅 he could collect people's hairs and store them on his belt
Tamaki already carries stuff he can eat to manifest it in his body like the swordfish, which speaking of...
I wonder how he prepared for this battle, he probably had an all you can eat buffet for breakfast lol
Imagine monomoa copying new order and then creating an order on copy to have unlimited time, then you basically have all for one but without stealing the original quirk
Overall, the heroes’s plan wasn’t a bad one honestly. It’s definitely better than their first one during the original war. And also, just mad respect to the students.
Honestly my plan would’ve been more focused on Shigaraki and AFO.
Teleport every villain to an island besides AFO and Shigaraki.
Have 2 more focused groups to take them both down, then focus on the island villain later.
Obviously there will be some villains which can fly or swim so there should be a created perimeter. Have aquatic heroes guarding the water and SnS’s jets guarding the sky.
The bigger more focused groups against AFO/Shiggy shouldn’t have as much trouble since there will be less distractions and more fire power.

Without spoiling, it’s fun to look back and wonder how much more smoothly everything would’ve gone had Toga just not pulled Deku through the wrong portal. They had a great plan but it got fucked up by a schoolgirl with a crush

Best Jeanist said shiggy even without any quirks is relative to peak all might. In the manga it was more clear as best jeanist said prime all might. When shiggy was incomplete during season 6 he was only comparable to the usj nomu but because of him overcoming the quirk doomsday theory his body adapted and evolved giving him greater strength and speed.
So if shiggy wasn't nerfed by the plot he would've just blitzed and one shotted everyone here and horikoshi knew this, reason why he had shiggy whip out all these fingers when Shigaraki didn't have to do this. It's a creative way of showing off Shigaraki's evolution while nerfing him at the same time
3:17 - I think because he has to rely on others to use his quirk, so not self sufficient for his ability. I like how in the flashback we got to see more of the vulnerable side of Monoma. He plays up his persona as a means to use his ability by riling people up so he can try to copy their abilities (as we've seen since sports festival in S2). But also a way to mask a sense of inferiority he has as someone who has to rely on others for his quirk and gives more context of why he's competitive with class A.
It's been 7 years of "I thought you were cool, Eraserhead."
I love that our two mvp stars of the episode is Phantom Thief and Shinso, without Shinso with his hypnosis, they couldn't have deceived the enemy, and without Phantom thief they wouldn't be able to transport all the heroes at that time as well as splitting the enemies apart which was their initial goal.
This is SO cap! As a manga reader, I'm with Gabe: without Shinso making it possible for Yuga Aoyama and his parents to fool AFO, Nutsack-face would have NEVER showed up, scuttling the entire plan. Monoma wouldn't have gotten to show off, none of the other components would have worked, because AFO would have scorched the Aoyamas and kept it moving (and hiding). Give Gabe his full 200 points!

I believe Manga can only create onomatopoeia words, not just any words, so it is limited. I don't think there isn't a sound for desintegration specifically.

Tbh AFO is precisely able to tell if anyone is lying through their voice, they mentioned in the manga as well. Shinso and Monoma played an equal part and probably, the most crucial one to even have the whole process successful.
It's become tradition since I came across your account last season that I watch your reactions immediately after watching the episode. It's so great seeing you all reference things that I remember when watching, whether it was noticing the callback to MHA Two Heroes or the season 5 trailer song. *Thanks to Shinso and Monoma, the plan began super well! Well, aside from Toga. But I do think the plan to isolate the villains is a good one, especially after how the first war’s plan ended up turning out. Also, Shigaraki’s quirk evolution has me really concerned if I’m being honest 😰*
The 2nd war has begun. And MAN have I been waiting for everything to fly right off the handle.
It’s amazing to see just how understanding the kids are of Aoyama’s position and just how dangerous AFO is to hang over your head even SLIGHTLY. He’s just a little nothing to AFO. Meanwhile if you do upset him you can find yourself in layers and layers of torture like AFO has done to All-Might, Gran Torino, SEEMS like Tsukauchi, and not to mention both Endeavor and Deku. They all have seen 1st hand and don’t question the moment he says he will help, they know he’s going in for real for them. There’s no chance of a triple betrayal.
Shinso powers up AGAIN. I love the running gag for his quirk is needing a factor or being blocked from doing more with his power, but then IMMEDIATELY after that he proves he can. 1st he needs a verbal response or answer my question for his brainwashing to effect the target. And then RIGHT when he lost to Deku he discovers he doesn’t need verbal at ALL. Just even a grunt he can’t hear is enough. You have to FULLY ignore him. Then he says he can’t get people to talk. Lo and behold, he overcame that block and he’s now a proper puppeteer controlling the Aoyama’s to personally lead none other than AFO into a major trap. Everyone is INCREDIBLY impressed. Throw in that he’s more physically trained, has better Aizawa scarf training, we have a potential MVP here. And to see him getting such genuine support from everyone has to make his day when no one wanted to even be near him or believed he was capable as a hero. Now he’s accepted as their classmate and he’s already got a fan. (Seriously finding that detail of that girl from 1-C always being there by him is the sweetest thing) It’s like Nighteye saying he has conditions to his quirk but slowly revealing he has NONE of the limitation he originally described.
Throw in a long time nuisance to our kids showing up at the scene being none other than Monoma from Class B. He has gone out of his way to be as big of a nuisance as possible to Class A just because he wants to be one. Time and time again to the point ALL of Class B strays from listening to him as the level headed leader he was in season 2. Then once the season 5 battle occurred Monoma revealed a number of key details about himself. One is he doesn’t view his goals as aligning with the person he has to be because quite frankly he benefits from being a jerk for his quirk to get opportunities from his opponents. And he HIMSELF views his entire life as a side role. Nothing more than to be written off. And now here he is using EVERYTHING he’s learned and has pointed it at the villains with the maximum use of his quirk at his fingertips. We know his time limit expands, we know his quirk arsenal expands, he can mimic AFO himself with this ability and now here he is being a complete and utter nuisance to the VILLAINS and it’s SO cathartic having this guy be an obnoxious loudmouth to tick them off while having SEVERAL huge game changing quirks for himself. He got warp gate from Kurogiri and erasure from Aizawa. Even with just 2 of the 4 available quirk slots shown those are MASSIVE abilities that have seriously swayed so many major moments in the franchise. (And unlike what Aizawa says he’s got 10 minutes to work with not 5. Not that he can hold erasure that long) We got the Manual recharge going again to top it off.
Then we got the Troy trap activated. Locking the villains up won’t do SQUAT without wearing them down as much as possible 1st. But that’s not the goal. We’re sending everyone completely ACROSS THE COUNTRY to each of the sights of devastation the villains have caused across the series. Tsukauchi and All-Might hyping themselves up for their 3rd meeting with AFO. Recalling the prime battle 7 years ago. (It seems Tsukauchi is proven to be a witness of Prime All-Might and Prime AFO destroying what must’ve been a COUNTRY worth of landmass and eventually leading to their killing blows on each other.) Squads are assigned to these villains and who they go up against. Well…with one major caveat. Deku gets dragged to the wrong field due to another bypass of the danger sense. The 9th holder is NOT facing an AFO as planned.

Each one had a declaration of some kind throughout season 6 how these matchups were going to go. Toga still wants to talk to Deku, Deku wants to save Tenko, Shoto believes he will have to face Dabi on his own, and Endeavor has to go against the mess All-Might couldn’t finish.
Only one to truly focus on being the new floating field for AFS having a field that self heals itself and is hard for him to maneuver in with electric barriers, kids making their own materials to replace, and we SHOULD have enough manpower with Best Jeanist, Mirko, Bakugo (who HAS proven he can hurt OFA enough to be put against AFS despite being completely ineffective last war. So YAAYYYY more pain for Deku.) not to mention Big 3 members. Nejire on the scene. And after falling for their EVERY move the villains show what new tricks THEY have. What does a complete body mean we asked in season 6. Here we go. An abomination transforming his body without quirks. AFS is nothing short of a true monster.
Can’t wait for next episode! We all know the hype train will not stop for a LONG time here.
Shinsos training finally pays off. The amount of offense that can be done with binding cloth improved with aizawa in vigilantes Before as a student he just used it as capture and mobility. Then overtime we see him set up nets, throw building rubble and crush steel pipes by tightening around it. As a student, eraser spent every second outside of classes either resting or training till his hands were blistered and bloody. Whatever he's teaching shinso is bound to stick
Shinsos costume is also an upgrade to eraser. There's a drawing of eraser in vigilantes on what if he never became a teacher, and his costume was fully focused on combat, with padding all around. And shinsos is now similar to that.
Great episode this week 🔥 and it was really cool to see Shinso and Monoma use their quirks for this war

Everyone forgot that Erased Head can erase all quirks but the physics one, erase don't work with the quirks of Asui or Shogi for example.
However, he *can* temporarily halt their Quirk factor, regardless. So Asui may not be able to... extend her tongue all the way, for a bit? Or stick to walls? Either way, she'd still be a frog.
But as for someone like Shoji... hm. Maybe he couldn't continue to replicate limbs, but whatever is already replicated remains? Or, he'd just have the extra tentacle limbs remain in their default state. Which seems pretty strong against Shoji, still.

So while star did nerf him to a degree, she also buffed him because of New Order attacking Shigaraki's body repeatedly.

My guess for the fingers Shigaraki used is: Eraser head has only one eye left and he said it's not as effective, maybe (I don't know how to explain it with Monoma) ,maybe they can only supress a limited number of quirk? And fingers are not suppressed hahaha Idk xD

I don't know if anyone has said this, but unfortunately the memories episodes count towards this seasons 25 episode total :(
as a manger read I'm actually pretty happy about that because that means the final season will get to be longer, which is good because i figured it was only going to be 11-18 episodes total, but if they're gonna give it an extra 4 episodes to make up for the missing ones this season, i could see season 8 having anywhere from 15-22 episodes instead.

I REMEMBER WHAT I WAS GONNA SAY! It's actually an important clarification about something comments/chat told you last week!
Shigaraki didn't "get regeneration back." Regeneration is not a quirk, but a physical enhancement as a result of the doctor's experiments/overcoming the doomsday theory. The quirk that Shigaraki lost against Star was called Reflect; it's what allowed him to absorb the pilots' lasers and shoot them back at them. Similar quirk and name, but two very different things! Same as with the giant fingers, enhanced speed, and enhanced agility.
Isn't there hyper regeneration though, I can't remember or not if that's a quirk or not, I just remember in S2 the Doctor or AFO saying "it's a good thing we got hyper regeneration when we did" or something along those lines
He lost multiple quirks to New Order. One of them was Reflect, and another was Super Regeneration. After the fight he took a copy of Super Regeneration from a nomu, thus getting it back. The finger shit happening now is a result of his body evolving, but his regen is not.
Have should have equal treatment and should not have been subject to discrimination for his huge lead.
