  • The 1996 film Kids Return directed, written, and edited by Takeshi Kitano has remained one of my favorite films of all time for over 10 years.
    Maybe this has to do with it’s core messaging and themes surrounding endings and beginnings and the winding road life takes you down which has continued to impact me so profoundly…
    With this analysis I aim to look at the way those themes were expressed by deeply looking at all the characters’ journeys and just appreciating all the details of one of my favorite films…
    Let me know your thoughts on Kids Return in the comments, or Takeshi Kitano’s films in general. This is my first attempt at a feature film analysis and I plan to do more in the future, so let me know some of your favorite thematically rich movies that’d make for a good analysis.
    Anyways, thanks for watching the video and have a great day :)

    Thanks for this. Just saw the movie again after 10yrs. I remember it made me feel great at the time. Now I noticed the cyclic nature of it far more. It just says a lot about life, in a kind way.

    "they" why is shinji "they" . No indication that he is non binary

    • @yoppimedia
      @yoppimedia  3 года назад +6

      i just say they a lot when referring to anyone, its a personal habit of mine. i do refer to shinji with he/him pronouns at times throughout the video though, just not always
