What you said about Till being what you were looking for in music is what brought tears for me. I feel the same way about him. He is genuinely a special soul and so much more than a singer. He's an artist.

Till is a genius when it comes to word play and double entendre, I love the part where he sings:

Such a deep and beautiful song🥰
This song and especially this performance brings tears to my eyes every time. I think everyone who has lost a loved one to this damn disease feels this song on a very special level. Till packs so many emotions into his singing, in his very special way and his voice in general grabs you deep inside. It can make you happy, angry, sad, or incredibly excited. And sometimes all together...
Tomorrow is Till's birthday. He's 60. Unbelievable. It seems like I've just started to listen to Rammstein. Their music videos on TV first, then LIve aus Berlin on CD. They were still young and powerful. It seemed like they were at the very beginning of their incredible way in the world of music. But somehow 20 years have passed. So many things changed, so many things happened in my life. But this voice will always be my favorite. Love it.

It's been a while since I've heard the song myself and normally this song doesn't make me cry as much as some other songs but whenever I see Dominika get emotional, I myself also start feeling the same way... As a german, I do hope people will once recognise the Rammstein/Lindemann catalogue - at least a huge part of it - as what it in my opinion is: true art touching the hearts and provocating you to think. For me, they are standing out in many ways, and definitely achieve a place in the tradition of Germany's many outstanding artists in music, literature and fine arts. Because what is art all about if not to reach the hearts and brains of people in an existential way?

Its about cancer. There is a smart line in lyrics where till sings „TWO MORE days the end is near“. It also sounds like „TUMOR days the end is near“.
One of so many examples that Tills poetry is very clever and you can go very depp, if you want to do.
Peter wrote amazing music for Lindemann and Til some stunning lyrics, he is a poet. This song and Yukon are my favourites and I’m a 63yr old Aussie mum who also loves Rammstein’s thanks to my then teenage son playing them at home. I have Skills in Pills in the car, brilliant! I think that this concert was just before the Covid lockdown. They sadly no longer perform together anymore.

This isn’t a cancer story, but I lost my adored dad to heart disease which made a once vibrant strong healthy successful man into a shadow of himself. He had to stop flying, his greatest passion, he had to stop driving, he was so frail, he used a Walker. My father, who had always been the centre of my life and fixed everything for us girls, wasn’t even the same mentally. He died December 2022 and I sobbed like a little girl for him. The worst thing was how frustrated he was with his own body and how it limited him. I think that dying was a release for him. Miss you dad ❤

There is a significant difference between Till Lindemann and Rammstein. Rammstein has limits and Till absolutely does not. His concerts are not unjustifiably only allowed from the age of 18. This applies to the lyrics as well as to the video wall behind him. I'm sure you'll get to these songs too. Don't worry about censorship. These videos are already on youtube and no matter how "disturbing" for one or the other are, it's art.
And for the people who are not embarrassed, it's just really funny, because it's so absurd. 😁

I recommend the song Wer weiß das schon by Lindemann. Till's voice is operatic and it's one of my favorites. It comes from the stage play Hansel and Gretel in which Till wrote and performed the songs

Till: Home sweet Home is reason is…it’s a song about cancer so…it happens in almost every relationship. Everybody knows somebody or is related to or lost people. Everybody is in touch with cancer more or less in these days.
Q: Okay. So that’s a pretty serious subject, what inspired you to write about that?
Till: My father died of cancer so…it was a thing to tell about.

Wie ich es mitbekommen hat erkrankte Tills Vater an Krebs und starb auch daran. Das Lied widmete er an seinen Vater. Finde es schön, dass Rammstein oder Till als Einzelperson über Themen berichtet die gerne Todgeschwiegen werden. In Bern werde ich das 2. mal Rammstein live sehen, mag aber auch die Soloprogramme Emigrate und (Till) Lindemann.
