Let me help with the “Martha “ problem:
Clark knows why Bruce wants to kill him. It goes back to the conversation he had with the priest in MoS. Clark has seen the best and worst of humanity. He wants to help, but he still doesn’t trust the intentions of humanity. And humanity doesn’t trust him, as shown by the reports and the interviews in the media. Bruce, who is literally telling him during the fight that he isn’t a god, is about to do what his father Jon was afraid of. Clark accepts that he might die because Bruce doesn’t trust him.
    However
Clark also knows that Martha, the woman who raised him, his mother, is in danger. And the distrust of him shouldn’t be the reason she dies. So, as the alien he knows he is, he tells the human who is about to end his life to stop the man who is going to kill another human in Martha. If Clark had said “save my mom” it would’ve reminded Bruce that he is an alien. So he says Martha, which pushes Bruce to see him not as an alien bent on destroying the world, but a son who’s fighting to save his mother. And Bruce realizes that he is about to kill someone’s son, not a threat to the world. The name Martha humanized Superman in the eyes of Batman.

15:20 if you think about the nightmares of Bruce Wayne across the span of the movie, you'll find them change and evolve, they go from 100% original trauma (Martha) to half original trauma/half superman (the mankind introduction to superman) to 100% superman and the the fear of what he'll bring (Superman invaded and took over Bruce's nightmares).
Then go back the the Martha moment in the fight and focus on Bruce's flashbacks, you'll find Bruce thinking and searching in his nightmares (he goes from the second nightmare to the first) for a connection and meaning of why the alien that took over his nightmares is bringing up something that was the subject of his nightmares.

We just rewatched this again last night, extremely underrated. Ultimate edition should have been the version that was released in theaters. Shame we missed on out a solo Batfleck film/trilogy.

I wish people saw it this way initially. We'd have gotten JL3 by now.

This movie is an absolute masterpiece. I’ve said it since it came out and I’ve also said that it was ahead of its time and in due time people are gonna start seeing what this movie is actually about because it’s not your typical superhero movie it’s not a marvel movie and it came out when Marvel was at its height and that’s just what people expect. It’s superheroes movies to be like they didn’t know that they could be complex than sophisticated. I love this movie so much it’s my favorite.

This is the best CBM. I liked the theatrical release but the ultimate edition is even better. Wonder Woman's first appearance is great. The warehouse fight scene speaks for itself. Bruce does detective work. The film has character development. It doesn't feel as long as it is. I like the story.

15:50 batman himself is a deeply broken, trauma holding ,person .Actually that is the characterestic nature of batman , he is broken inside .Anything that's related to his trauma, i.e, his parents death can trigger the PTSD in him, reminding him about that day when his parents got killed. So there is no point in asking "was' nt his parents died 40 years ago, and woud'nt he have come across others having name Martha" because batman is in pain from the day of his parents death and it does' nt change anything if he have heard the names elsewhere also.

To all the people who complain about the illogical inconsistent plot with holes, I bet you like Captain America: Civil War where the villains plan is far more convoluted and sketchy and has more holes than Luthors plan in BvS.
(Civil War is a good film too, by the way).
