I still wish they had made a World War Z 2 where we could have seen Brad Pitt fighting an army of Zombies storming downtown Moscow. That said, it isn't a perfect adaptation from the book, but it is still a decent stand alone zombie movie. Also, as a huge 12th Doctor fan, I still find it funny that Peter Capaldi portrayed 1 of the W.H.O. Doctors then later became the next Doctor Who.

It's not an adaptation of the book... It took the name and the fact that there's zombies, that's about it. I loved the book, and the movie is fine as long as it's considered totally independently of the book.

I think of these zombies as ants, a hive mind. If you kill one ant, it sends out death pheromones that alert the rest of the colony and they attack back HARD.

World War Z is one of my all time favorite books. When I heard they were making it into a movie, I didn't know how I felt about that because they usually never keep to the original material. I decided to give it a shot. And I was right. They didn't keep to the original material...
But I still loved the movie... 100% loved it
Never read the books but it would be great to make multiple movies out of it i think, or maybe a mini series
@@wadumin the book could be a mini series. It actually starts 10 years after the 'war' was over and someone is retracing every step, from what is believed to be patient zero, to how it spread etc. it is amazing. 100% should read

This is one of the great early 2000 movies steering the public away from the completely implausible (walking dead) zombies into the very plausible (still living, running, jumping) “INFECTED. Besides this movie there is “Train to Busan”, which you mentioned)- also has a sequel , “28 Days Later” (and sequel), “The Crazies” (original and remake), “The Girl 8:15 With All The Gifts”, “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” (original and first remake). What I love about all these movies is that none have some sappy Happily Ever After. Life is messy

I don't think the zombies are "still living", I think the infected people are dead, but the virus is what's controlling the body.
The start was filmed in my home city of Glasgow. Zombies in George Square is not unusual though lol. Glasgow is also Gotham City.

Originally, the Israel sequence was around 20mins longer than whats shown. Editing and CGI was completed then at the last moment a large section was cut. It remains the most expensive deleted scene in cinema history.

@@wadumin Good question. I believe it was just cut the overall running time, there is an extended version which has several new and extended action sequences. Also the ending was changed. You can find them on RUclips

These are pretty scary zombies since they were athletic enough to climb on top of each other to get over walls, they are incredibly fast & strong enough to take out armed soldiers, & are able to bring down a helicopter.

I worked on this as a runner when it filmed in Glasgow. I have a funny story about my old friend Neelum who was an extra in the Glasgow scenes at the start. She was so excited about being an extra in this that I once put some silver tape over her mouth just so she’d stop talking about it as we had all signed NDA’s and we were out in public so listening ears wouldn’t listen in!

Probably my favorite zombie movie, but I haven't seen Train to Busan yet, great job for Anita, I would've been nervous too but once the movie started, I would've never guessed this was your first time, both of you worked great together on this reaction and I hope the two of you will continue to do more reactions together, my preference (in general) are channels with couples. 😎
Train to Busan is my favorite zombie movie, with WWZ right behind. I like these kind of zombies.

They filmed the opening outbreak in centre of my hometown Glasgow// Scotland - quite crazy they actually used 100s of local extras.
Several years later, in a really cruel tale of life imitating art, an out of control trash lorry did actually plow into a lot pedestrians killing a number people at the same spot.
The driver had become incapacitated.
In Hindi "ANITA" means a person who finds joy in new things...and indeed she enjoyed a lot... Btw what's ANITA means in your language..??

That’s something I never understood about a lot of zombie movies and shows is the fact that people in the movies and shows act as if they have never heard of zombies or don’t even know what they are. Like if I was in this type of situation I would automatically assume we are on the middle of a zombie outbreak. Also I honestly hated this movie for how the zombies acted, completely unrealistic especially considering a zombie apocalypse could actually happen.
Was it unrealistic though? I think they were aggressive but not unrealistic, and i agree i would definitely know if we're in a zombie apocalypse

The first street scenes are actually shot in Glasgow UK if anyone didn't know the reason I know because I was in the street where they were shooting but not at the moment I was there me and my friend Amy went to look before we went to see Dolly Parton in concert 2011 if I recall
