The pastry war is one of the most famous conflicts here in Mexico, mainly beacuse we like to joke about how stubborn we are, like "we went to war against a vastly superior country becaused we refused to pay for some cakes... twice"

Well yes but why did the Greek solider get killed? Because he ran into Bulgarias territory because the dog did, so technically it was the dog that started it.

Having been born in Bulgaria, I ain't really surprised to see this place on this list. And, even tho, I was into history, I haven't heard of this war. Maybe, because I never liked this place and its history and most of its literature. But I'm still happy to learn new things, especially ones that give me more ammo against all the local nazis. Mate you may know it as Petrich Incident, it is known for people who are listening in 10 grade history classes. It is kinda big deal because it is one example of good politics from Bulgarian side and good use of UN.
That's because it never happened like that. It happened though. It was the Incident of Demir Kappu, were Greek and Bulgarian soldiers started swearing each other and things got super heated. One reason for that was the incursions of gangs of Komitadjis from Bulgaria towards Greece. Oh well, a huge mishap by the then greek dictator...
The pig war happened differently. He shot the pig and it dodges than ate his face off, then got struck by lightning obviously becoming a zombie pigman and he started fighting and killing everyone and he massacred the whole island then the British gave the entire place to America.
I seriously doubt the infographics show even knew about the pig war until oversimplified released his video about it.

Just wanted to say, that the narrator of the videos is fantastic. Not only does he read with such great inflection, his pronunciation of foreign names and places is remarkable. I am a big fan of these videos, and a big fan of him.
the war of the bucket never happened, I both studied the subject in the library and watched some videos about it. That story was probably invented years after the fact. In truth the 2 cities were at war already and the bucket was taken as a souvenear.

Every war in history has always been fought over the same thing, Land. All treaties ending wars typically involve exchanges in land. You can see most of these wars were truly fought over some kind of land border dispute. All other items cited are excuses.

I know the story. This is the Pig wars. It began in 1859 when a person named Lyman Cutler shot a pig which led to a war but it ended within a few years and the casualties was just a Pig.

I hear countries used to go to war over which monarch people in a given area would pay taxes to. Or sometimes just a family spat among a royal family. And they still go to war over the delusions and ego of a single old man from time to time. Those seem like they could go here, but it'd make the video pretty long.

In 1976 the United States and North Korea almost went to war over a poplar tree. A couple of American servicemen were ordered to cut down a tree on the DMZ that was obstructing the view. North Korean forces murdered those servicemen. Then the United States readied its military for war and did a large troop build up while also sending a few more soldiers out to take care of the tree.
I've seen a documentary about that on RUclips.
