This song is mainly a satirical work on nostalgisms about previous times and government forms, expecially italian fascist nostalgism where Mussolini's dicatorship is somehow supposed to be better than modern times. The band basically says that in that idea, turning even back to medioeval feudal system ("give me back my fief") would be even better, so they talk positively and enthusiastically about those ages using phrases that are typical of the fascism nostalgic. For example the "good things" the emperor is supposed to only do are a reference to the nostalgic claim that "Mussolini did good things too" while the verse about not binding with "the German" and not doing a "only mistake" is a reference to the claim that "Mussolini's only mistake was to ally with Hitler". As for the verse about being servants and not slaves, which in a literal sense are synonymous, refers the diffusion of poorly payed inters who are often called "slaves" in italian slangs, while in the depicted ideal feudal system the problem won't exists since everyone would be a servant.

these guys are simply brilliant, their satirical songs almost all have medieval-style lyrics and are absolutely irresistible.
