With so much rudeness becoming commonplace in society, I think we as a nation could certainly benefit from more manners in our daily lives.
Whether it's the lady from Walmart that delivered my mother's order to the house, the guy from FedEx who delivered my car parts, or the customer that tips me their leftover change from their coffee purchase, a genuine "thank you" goes a looong way. I also deliver newspapers, each and every tip I receive gets a handwritten "Thank You" note. The first year I did my route I received several response notes along the lines of "You're the first carrier we've had who's actually thanked us." To me, that is so sad...

I agree with the viewer. Just thank the reporters privately and use the cumulative half minute or so to provide more news.

Imagine writing an email to tell people to stop thanking one another. Yeah I’m sure that guy was REALLY happy with where his life was at that time.

I’d get it if it was time-consuming, but these reporters talk so fast that they can say thank-you in less than a second.

This is Genius fun! Great job both taking the Pixx out Both the Dolt who 'had enough of politeness' , and adding a great bit of Hilarity w/ straight faces. Kudos to Who ever came up w/it, And... 'Signed off' on it!

Anyone who knows anything about broadcast TV knows that there is no shortage of obscenity in the background. And don't get me started on talk shows - we found out who Ellen really was, and I doubt that she is the last industrial-grade bully in a pantsuit.

Look, gratitude is important, especially for people doing their jobs. Since the pandemic, if you haven’t found an appreciation for all the jobs that keep our life comfortable, you’re blind.
What I DON’T like is being asked to tip for carryout or drive-thru.

@booh254 No, that's what happens when you have snowflake prosecutor's and judges and corrupted district attorneys who let repeat criminals out of jail. Guns don't kill people. Unless you believe spoons make people fat.

TOTALLY rehearsed & scripted. BELIEVE ME, no control room operator...NO, NOT ONE...can premeditate & anticipate when an F-Bomb or a S-Bomb will be said in a micro-mini-milli-second. Totally impossible. And YES, I was a control room audio mix board operator for decades in the Los Angeles area. Why do you think the whole Will Smith/Chris Rock dilemma got played in its FULL ENTIRETY on the East Coast. It was edited and or bleeped for Central, Mountain & Pacific Time Zones, IF it was delayed at all for those zones, but most Award Shows are no longer delayed and played live. Indeed, in radio broadcasting, we had a "time delay unit" that gives us :14 seconds to immediately cut the mic, hit the "DUMP BUTTON" and bring us back to real, linear time, then the delay unit would then immediately start to ramp down the time again, until it achieves :14 seconds of full bandwidth audio source. For television, you're working with a WHOLE set of different parameters. MUCH, MUCH MORE is at stake.

My only thing is when it does become routine it becomes meaningless- nobody is actually reflecting on the effort put in and thanking the person, it’s just a customary teleprompter word at this point. I don’t have a problem with it (the person who does sux) but I also think it’s not coming from any sort of genuine appreciative place.
