Samsung Note 5 - Doesn't Turn On - Need Help

- The phone suddenly turned off and won't come on for whatever reason it choose not to. The Samsung Note 5 battery isn't easily remove like the older models to give it a reset. I've tried the hold down power button and volume for hard reset and still nothing. IF you have any idea as to what is going on, please do share in the comments section.

I faced the same problem, and i just hold the Power button and Volume down button for about 10 second and it works pretty well. hope this information helps you.

Yes hold down all buttons "all together" at the same time for a few seconds ...you will get a restart menu...press restart. and the phone should boot. Same problem and I used this solution.

Worked for me once. Died again and now it won’t work nor will the reboot with power and volume down :(
It frozen at "Samsung galaxy note 5 powered by android" then it turns off again over and over again
I held both the volume down button and the power button simultaneously for some few seconds, and the phone powered itself up. None of my information on the phone was affected or better still deleted. Hope this helps.

yeah Great idea, It works for me, press both Volume Button at the same and also press Power Button, my restarted normally, nothing changed. (before problem was that i kept my phone full charged, after two hours when i want to use it again, it show nothing, check on charging no signal of charging for half hour and also check with Volume up Home key and power but not work. so Finally with ( Both Volume Button at the same and also press Power Button, my restarted normally, nothing changed

I have the same problem. I push and hold up volume button, then hold down the power button at the same time for about 10 second. The phone turn back on.
Thank you all for the comments. Just had this happen to me and am on call for the hospital. Holding the volume down button and the Power button simultaneously worked. Needles to say I was freaking out.
I pressed all of the combination buttons and held them ALL down at the same time and after about 10 seconds it powered back on. THANKS!

I tried pressing the Volume down button and the Home Button + Power Button then it turned ON again. And a message appeared, and option to download custom OS or cancel. so i chose Cancel. Is there a problem on my OS? or it is a battery problem?

That's why from here on I'm doing my best to NOT buy a phone with non-removable battery. I'm really sorry about your problem and I know the feeling. This happened to me twice in the past and I'm also sick of it.
my note 5 did this, took in guy unplugged battery phone reset was good, now week later same issue, repeated steps and this fix did not work this time

OMG... You totally saved my life! I went nuts because my phone (at 75% battery) suddenly turns black and has no power

I pressed all the buttons (up,down,power,home) hold it for 2 s then reapeted it again as much as you can and it worked , it was plugged to charger, and I put alcohol for the up,down,and power button waited for a min and shake it hardly dropped it on floor so do all of that don't give up fighting.

force reboot. just worked for mine. just hold the down volume and power button and it will simulate the regular pull battery trick. nothing got deleted

Mine just pretty much died on the day of the biggest snowstorm last winter. I trudged to TMobile to get a new one but they didnt have anymore and wanted me to upgrade. I had like 4 minutes before the store was closing and was frustrated beyond belief. I wanted to actually downgrade to an old school flip phone but they said they didnt have them anymore...lies!! My mom and dad have them! So being pissed I left with the S8Active. I get home hours later and miraculously my note 5 turns on! But that was just rigamortis. It has not worked since and it lays at my bedside waiting to be buried. I did love my note 5! These new note 8s and 9s get smaller and longer and more narrow. I hate these phones!! Bring back the RAZOR!

I hit all the button combinations and nothing happend. I saw the person who plugged there phone into a charger and it the power and down button combination and it worked for them so I tried that. As soon as I plugged it it the batter icon on the srceen displayed and now it work..... I have no idea....

To everyone who still owns a Note5? What I did was, keep pressing your home button several times. I find it to come on at all times. Hope it works!

Same thing happened to me. Funny thing though, I have tried entering the "boot mode" by pushing down (simultaneously) volume up+home+power button.
Then the video actually helped me, I have then tried pushing down the home button+power button and volume down button it came up with a screen, asking if i want to load custom OS etc and gave me two options either press up for loading custom OS or restart by pressing the volume button down.
So thank you anyway, I know it didn't work for you, but it did work for me.

I held both volume and power buttons 20.sec and it came back on..

Phone just made a noise and went black (didn't touch anything or do anything). I tried ALL of the button combos and held them down for minutes but nothing has happened. The phone remains black and there is no lights or anything on it. I've had it plugged in for a couple of hours now but there is literally no sign of life within it. Please help
Sames, supposedly you plug into a charger pressed both the volume down and the power button down or press them down and repeat for (I don't know how many minutes or second) and it suppose to fix the problem. But I don't think I've tried it so I don't know if it works

if the battery charging light comes on then its a capacitor that went out that controls the on off switch same happened to me. so i opened it and notice that there was a small burnt part next to the power switch
but how did you get to open a tight sealed phone like this?

Okay, my phone doesn't turns on , only the "samsung note galaxy note 5" comes out and then it turns back off , and when I plugged it in the battery charging light comes on , and i even reset it by pressing the volume up bottom+off bottom , and thats all

nope not yet. some are saying to remove the back but that thing is sealed tight.
I have the same problem a I hold the volume buttons and the power at the same time and give you the menu to restart the phone.
Is it detected when you plug it into the pc? If so, use Samsung Kies to factory reset it
or to flash the firmware
I tried all the options but nothing worked. Only a white screen, except 1 time gave me the itnis downloading soming but it stays for hours with no results
NO combination of button holding and waiting for long periods has ANY effect at all! Galaxy Note 5 worked fine up until it just stopped turning on. It won't indicate that it is charging when plugged in.

I opened the phone up and made a short circuit on the power button chips because mine got ruined after a water interaction so I say open it up and take a look inside.

try to install wakelock and enable the partial wakelock
let it be fully charged take it off the charger hold the volume button up and down at the same time until that comes on
I had put my galaxy 5 phone is FREEZER for about 3 minutes, then plug back n and its working if u don't want to loose any documents or pictures my suggestions would be to download onto a computer or another device....good luck

This might be a little helpful. (Short story) I accidentally dropped my Note 5 in a pool while on vacation. I got a new phone and the Note wasn't functioning, dried itself out wouldn't turn on for a whole year. All I could get was the charging symbol while plugged up. I looked at the comments for this video. a couple people, one of them being Nae Ware
said to put it in the freezer. I put the Note 5 in the freezer for a couple hours. After that plugged it back in. Now it works for the moment. So if you have anything that needs to be obtained, that might be the move for ya ✌

Several times i also faced the automatically switched off / restart , this is a big problem for me...

Maybe it is a bad capacitor.see a video what capacitor it is and remove it
plugin your charger then hold power button and volume down for 15 sec approx then start it again by pressing only power button . do not unplug your charger while this process .

Note 5 was totally dead-would not turn on--BIG Problem!!!
Pressed the volume down button and the on/off button simultaneously for about five seconds and the boot menu came on. Scrolled up to "boot normally" (at the top), hit the Samsung "home" button at the bottom of the screen to confirm, whala!!!! Everything was back to normal--whew!!!

plug a new charger to your laptop or computer then you hold the power and volume down and there it worked for me
