It’s amazing how, after all these years, Winger still stumbles over the basics of Catholic teaching and practice that he is attempting to critique and disprove. It shows that he’s simply not interested in actually doing his research before taking a position and claiming that it’s true. It’s lazy, dishonest, uncharitable, and misleading. He should take Lofton’s advice and “study Catholicism in silence” for a few years before speaking publicly on it.
@@adamcharleshovey7105 true, but he's nicer about it so a lot of Catholics brush over it. Not that I agree with that; I think he's shown to be either dishonest or ignorant in how he portrays Catholic teaching and especially the Church Fathers. I'm glad people are starting to notice that.
Money and ego. Many people have a hard time sincerely admitting that we’re wrong. That takes humility but someone with a fragile ego sees it as a jab to their competence and feel like maybe their whole belief system isn’t really as verifiable as they thought. The cognitive dissonance will make them jump loops and deny in order for reality to fit their beliefs all because they don’t want to “look dumb” or “deceived”
Some Roman Catholics draw a fine line between praying to Mary-which they deny doing-and praying with her. They maintain that a prayer addressed to Mary or the saints is simply a way of asking people in heaven to pray for people on earth and is no different from asking someone here on earth to pray on one’s behalf. Other Catholics readily admit that they pray to Mary and the saints. The Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church, second edition, seems clear enough that prayers on earth can indeed be directed to Mary: “When we pray to [Mary], we are adhering with her to the plan of the Father, who sends his Son to save all men. Like the beloved disciple we welcome Jesus’ mother into our homes, for she has become the mother of all the living. We can pray with and to her” (part 4, § 1, ch. 2, art. 2, ¶ 2679, emphasis added). There are many Catholic prayers to Mary. A famous one is the Memorare, which addresses Mary directly and encourages the petitioner to trust in her: “Remember, most loving Virgin Mary, never was it heard that anyone who turned to you for help was left unaided. . . . I run to your protection for you are my mother.” The same is true for another traditional Catholic prayer, “Hail, Holy Queen.” This prayer explicitly calls Mary a “most gracious advocate”: “Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To you we cry, the children of Eve; to you we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this land of exile. Turn, then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us; lead us home at last” (from A Book of Prayers, 1982, International Committee on English in the Liturgy, Inc.) Praying to Mary and the saints in such a way is unbiblical. Even in cases in which Mary or a saint is simply being asked to pray on one’s behalf, the practice has no biblical basis. The Bible nowhere instructs believers in Christ to pray to anyone other than God. The Bible nowhere encourages, or even mentions, believers asking individuals in heaven for their prayers. Why, then, do many Catholics pray to Mary and/or saints such as Gertrude, Rita, Sylvester, Vincent, Agnes, etc.? Why do they petition the dead and request their prayers? Catholics view Mary and the saints as “intercessors” before God. They believe that a saint, who is glorified in heaven, is perfected in love (including love for us) and has more “direct access” to God than do earthbound sinners. In Catholic thinking, prayers delivered by a saint are more effective than our praying to God directly. This concept is blatantly unbiblical. Hebrews 4:16 tells us that believers here on earth have direct access to God and can “approach the throne of grace with confidence.” No saint can take Jesus’ place: “There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5). There is no one else who can mediate with God for us. Since Jesus is the only mediator, Mary and the saints cannot be mediators. Further, the Bible tells us that Jesus Christ Himself is interceding for us before the Father: “He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them” (Hebrews 7:25). With Jesus Himself interceding for us, why would we need Mary or the saints to intercede for us? Whom would God listen to more readily than His only begotten Son? Romans 8:26-27 says the Holy Spirit is also interceding for us. With the second and third Persons of the Trinity already interceding for us before the Father, why would we need to have Mary or the saints interceding for us? Let us examine the claim that praying to Mary and the saints is no different than asking someone here on earth to pray for us: 1) Asking other believers (on earth) to pray for us is certainly biblical (2 Corinthians 1:11; Ephesians 1:16; Philippians 1:19; 2 Timothy 1:3). The apostle Paul asks other Christians to pray for him in Ephesians 6:19. 2) The Bible nowhere mentions anyone asking someone in heaven to pray for him or her. The Bible nowhere describes anyone in heaven praying for anyone on earth. 3) The Bible gives absolutely no indication that Mary or the saints can hear our prayers. Mary and the saints are not omniscient. Even glorified in heaven, they are still finite beings with limitations. How could they possibly hear the prayers of millions of people? 4) Whenever the Bible mentions praying to or speaking with the dead, it is in a negative context involving activities the Bible strongly condemns (Leviticus 20:27; Deuteronomy 18:10-13; 1 Samuel 28:7-19). Praying to Mary or the saints is completely different from asking a friend here on earth to pray for us. Asking people on earth to pray for us has a strong biblical basis; asking the heavenly saints or Mary to pray has no biblical basis whatsoever. It is wrong to think that God will hear and answer the prayers of St. Jude, for example, over ours. Scripture teaches that prayer offered to God in faith, according to God’s will, from a redeemed heart will be heard. As an example, “Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops” (James 5:17-18). There is absolutely no scriptural basis to pray to anyone other than God alone. There is no need to, either. Jesus, our Intercessor, has it covered. No one in heaven can mediate on our behalf except for Jesus Christ. Only God can hear and answer prayer. The temple veil was torn in two (Hebrews 10:19-20); the child of God on earth has just as much access to God’s throne of grace, in Jesus’ name, as anyone in heaven (Hebrews 4:16).
The deception of catholic teachings is beyond anything I've heard. They come up with unconvincing explanations all the time and yet ALWAYS fail to back up their explanation with a direct biblical verse. ALWAYS.
I don't mean any disrespect but you didn't provide any verses where Jesus says "you can ask Mary and the apostles in heaven to pray for you because they have been perfected" - I have a catholic friend who told me that "God is the father but Mary is the neck and she can turn His head to persuade the Father in any way".. This amount of authority given to Mary frightens me because I don't see it anywhere in Bible yet you explain it away with "human reasoning" instead of Biblical verses. I read many comments on this video and I'm amazed at how catholics quickly accept anything the church teaches them instead of picking up the Bible themselves. I can't find anything on purgatory, rosary, praying to the dead, the pope authority etc...your allegiance should be to Christ, not an organized religion.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial Yes I did, it mentions Rev 8:3 and Rev 5:8 but those are prayers from the saints (a saint being a follower of Christ here on earth) The fact that you teach people to pray to loved ones to intercede for them sounds more like emotionalism than Biblical. I don't pray to my dad or aunt or grandma who died in Christ. Suppose they could hear my affliction here on earth, how could they enjoy their new life in heaven? Jesus Himself instructed us to pray directly to the Father (Matthew 6:9) and the only "spiritual person" that can intercede for us is the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26-27_ More on Matthew 6 (Jesus words) "But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words (Rosary) 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Can you provide verses from Jesus when he was alive giving different praying instructions than the one above?
@@kaboom9081 Rev 8:3 and Rev 5:8 are still good examples those prayers are being offered to God by the elders and angels. If they can't hear our prayers or offer our prayers to God then what the heck is going on in those verses? Romans 8:26-27 doesn't say that the only the Holy Spirit intercedes for because what about in 1 Timothy 2:1-4 where it says that our prayers and intercessions please God? In regards to Matthew 6:6-8 Jesus was referring to the pagans who would just shout for hours on end without meaning thinking their gods would hear them. If we can't repeat ourselves then what about Psalms 136, Jesus in Matthew 26:44, or the angels in Revelation 4? Repetitive prayer isn't bad but praying without meaning is.
@emoore1439 John, the writer of Revelation, was instantly teleported, in spirit, into heaven (skipping purgatory, even though he had sin). But not only Heaven, but in the future as well, into the end times of Earth. In Revelation, if I may speak figuratively, the rules of the game are essentially flipped on its head. So we don't know why exactly the elders are burning the incense (prayers), though I believe it's meant to represent that now, God has answered all prayers. Romans 8:26-27 Yes the verses *technically* don't say that the Holy Spirit is the only one that intercedes but it is heavily implied in the Bible that it is. No one should stand between you and God. The only reason why the Holy Spirit stands between you and the Father is because the Holy Spirit is also God. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 It sounds like your claim here is that you pray to people in higher authority than you in so that they can pray to God for Wisdom. Even though the text clearly says that you pray FOR them not to them. Which does bring up an interesting question. If you can pray to Mary and the Saints with a picture or statue of them in front of you with the justification of "they are still alive, just in Heaven" If I went to my bedroom, put a picture of Joe Biden in front of me (since he is in authority over me) and started praying to him, would that be okay? And if not Joe Biden, what about a priest or a nun, who are still alive today?
12:35 This is the exact point I try and make when discussing apologetics with Protestants. All of their critiques of Catholicism rest on the presupposition that sola scriptura is a true doctrine. If that were the case, then critiques of the Catholic Church might carry a little more weight. However, in order for sola scriptura to even have a chance at being true, there would need to be an intra-scriptural reference as to how many and which books constitue the canon of scripture. Otherwise, how do we know we have the correct number of books or the correct books? However, wr know there is no such reference. This would mean that one would have to appeal to an extra-scriptural authority that is outside of and above scripture. This very appeal to an extra-scriptural authority defeats the pseudo-doctrine altogether. Thanks for all you do! Keep up the great work!
@@user-cw3ox2nn5t I understand the stance that Protestants, like MacArthur have in regards to the doctrine of sola scriptura. And Catholicism actually agrees with many of the Protestant viewpoints in regards to scripture. Both would agree that scripture is authoritative, infallible, and the inspired word of God. However, the doctrine of sola scriptura is where the disagreement lies. Sola Scriptura is self-defeating because it does require an extra-scriptural authority to guide Man in properly determining the correct canon and interpretation of scripture. What's the point in having infallible scripture if it can be fallibly interpreted? One could make an argument that we intrinsically know the proper canon of scripture because the books are intrinsically authoritative and self-authenticate one another. However, that raises the question as to why Catholicism has a 73 book canon and Protestantism has a 66 book canon. How does one reconcile this discrepancy? Did the Holy Spirit make a mistake in guiding man? Did Man make a mistake being guided by the Holy Spirit? Which is the proper canon? To answer these questions, one would need to appeal to an authority outside of scripture (i.e. The Holy Spirit). Catholicism does this via the magesterium. Protestantism appeals to their self-interpretation. Either way, one needs to appeal to an extra-scriptural authority to properly affirm and employ the authoritative nature of scripture. Catholics do this through the Holy Spirit via the magesterium. Protestants do this via self-interpretation and their own will. I guess another way to point out the self-defeating nature of sola scriptura would be to ask the following question: When two non-Catholic Christians disagree on the interpretation of scripture, how do they reconcile who has the correct interpretation? What authority do they appeal to?
@@user-cw3ox2nn5t So there is an extra-scriptural authority that is present to help Man properly interpret and employ the information contained within scripture? I would agree. But again, this appeal to an extra-scriptural authority defeats the concept of sola scriptura (and by extension, Protestant critiques of the Catholic Church). If any doctrine is truly "man-made" and unbiblical, it would be sola scriptura. It's a doctrine that allows Man to read into scripture whatever he pleases. This is why we see thousands of Protestant denominations. Again, I would ask the question: When two non-Catholic Christians disagree on the interpretation of scripture, how do they reconcile who has the correct interpretation? What authority do they appeal to?
@@user-cw3ox2nn5t I feel like this is an account that uses Chat GPT to generate a response. At the end of the day, it sounds like we are somewhat in agreement. In order for the authoritative nature of scripture to be properly interpreted and effectively employed for the Christian, you must have an infallible interpreter. I agree with that. However, what this means is that sola scriptura cannot be the "final" or "sole" authority. Again, this would negate the basis of the doctrine. It's ironic that Protestants do not see the contradiction in their own doctrine. Sola Scriptura does not actually place scripture as the final authority. It places the individual's self-interpretation of scripture as the final authority. The Protestant approach is similar to Pontiuous Pilate's approach to discovering the truth. They ask the question, "What is truth?" as a means to justify their beliefs. Protestants aren't actually concerned with the truth, they are concerned with "their truth." Catholics, on the other hand, see the Holy Spirit, via the magesterium, as the infallible interpreter. No need for popular opinion. Just truth. And regardless of what the Catholic's personal belief or idea is, the church authoritatively discerns the truth. This is actually a highlight as to why the Catholic Church is the only ecclesial community with the fullness of truth. It's also the only ecclesial community that requires true and total faith. It actually holds its followers to the the command that is proposed in Proverbs 3:5-6.
@@user-cw3ox2nn5t Yes. We agree that the Holy Spirit is the authoritative and infallible interpreter of the scripture that the Holy Spirit himself inspired. Catholicism has the magesterium, which is led by the Holy Spirit, to infallibly interpret scripture. Protestantism has each individual person claiming that they are, in and of themselves, a "magesterium" that is also led by the Holy Spirit. This is why we see such a fragmentation of ecclesial communities within Protestantism. All of them have falsely claimed to be guided by the Holy Spirit, when in reality they are being guided by their own will and self-interpretation of scripture. This includes John MacArthur. So again, this still leaves the following question unanswered: When two non-Catholic Christians disagree on the interpretation of scripture, how do they reconcile who has the correct interpretation? What authority do they appeal to? Let's use John MacArthur's personal beliefs in this context. He would say infant baptism is unbiblical. Other Protestant's would say that it is biblical. How do we reconcile who is correct? Pick another topic and apply the same question. Hypostatic union, The Holy Trinity, baptism for salvation, etc. If all these Protestant denominations are claiming supremacy of their beliefs over other denominations, but each is rooting these claims of supremacy in the doctrine of sola scriptura, how do we reconcile who is correct? At the end of the day either Protestantism is wrong or the Holy Spirit is wrong. I think you and I both know what the real answer is.
@@user-cw3ox2nn5t Many Protestants don't agree on what the essentials even are. There are wild discrepancies but each denomination claims to have the truth about those essentials. Again, this either means the Holy Spirit is misguiding these various denominations, or Man has placed himself as the final authority and is misguided for doing so. I think we both can agree which of those scenarios is the likely one. You cite 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Again, you and I would both agree that this passage is infallible, as is all other scripture. But the question still stands. How do we know we are teaching correctly, reproofing correctly, correcting correctly, and training in righteousness correctly? Can we be certain that Protestants have correctly interpreted this passage and have not read their bias into it? And if so, which denomination of Protestantism is correctly interpreting it? In your third paragraph, you state, "It is not an individualistic approach but rather a reliance on the Holy Spirit's guidance and the collective wisdom of the church community." That is what Catholicism would consider the "deposit of faith." It's a combination of sacred tradition, sacred scripture, and divine revelation. So again, we agree there. But that's not what Protestantism actually teaches. Protestants do not want to be told what the deposit of faith is. They cling to their own will and self-interpretation. They want "their truth" to reign supreme. So within Protestantism, there actually is an individualistic approach. That's why we see thousands of different denominations with thousands of different beliefs, and even different beliefs on what you call essentials. In regards to the magesterium, there are various levels of teaching, and that determines the infallibility of said teachings. Now if you are arguing that human beings can be fallible in and of thselves, I would agree. They can be. This is why the Catholic Church has the office of the Magesterium and its various levels of teaching, being led by the Holy Spirit. I think that's where a lot of Protestants get the infallibility issue wrong. It's not like the Church could make a proclamation tomorrow that 2 actually equals 3, or that all Catholics are required to eat pancakes each morning to avoid excommunication. The infallibility of church teaching is restricted to very limited circumstances and is reserved for the highest level of the magesterial office. At the end of the day, there actually does need to be an infallible authority that the faithful must submit to. Otherwise, we run the risk of fragmentation and fracturing (i.e. Protestantism). Think about applying the concept of sola scriptura to the secular world. Imagine if all Americans were left to self-interpret the Constitution. There would be all sorts of liberties the individual would take, based on their own will and biases. You would have millions of different interpretations, but they would all be equally valid because the foundational lens that sola scriptura operates through is that of subjectivity. Again, the same is true when it comes to applying sola scriptura to the Bible. The individual takes liberties with the interpretation based on their will and biases. They place themselves as the final authority, and as long as the conclusion they come to makes sense, they go with it. If it doesn't, they reject it. This is why Catholicism is unique. It requires a level of faith, submission, and trust, that no other Christian denomination does. It's the only faith tradition that truly embraces Proverbs 3:5-6. And I agree with your closing statement. This is why I encourage all non-Catholics or anti-Catholics to actually look into what the church teaches and why. Many of those outside of the church rely on others, who are outside of the church, to understand what is actually happening within the church. It's kind of a "blind leading the blind" scenario. You won't ever discover the truth in that scenario. The best you can hope for is discovering "your truth."
If a soul is dead, the are in hell. If a soul is a saint, the are in heaven. We don't call out to the dead, that would mean we are trying to contact a follower of Satan. We call out Saints who have died in Christ and therefore live It's so easy. Stop complicating it Mike.
@@user-cw3ox2nn5t he went over this in the video. Why are you repeating what was already explained? If you died in Christ, you're not dead but in heaven.
The Old Testament saints believed the same Gospel we do (read Galatians 3) which means that Samuel (when Saul was scolded for trying to contact him) was in the same place we are going when we die (Abraham's bosom/the paradise side of Sheol) which is the same place Mary is until the final judgment and resurrection unto life. The end goal of Christian hope is not just heaven or hell. When we die we are sent to a waiting place of sorts where we await final judgement. If you are not a saint you are sent to the bad side of Sheol (Gehenna, place of torment and judgement) where the rich man was sent in Luke 16 and if you are a saint you are sent to where Lazarus was sent, the good side of Sheol (Abraham's bosom). These are not the final destinations, however, these are just temporary resting places where we await final resurrection where the damned will be thrown into the eternal lake of fire (hell) and where the saints will be resurrected unto life in the New Heavens and New Earth. There is no scriptural precedent that we are to contact anyone in Sheol (the place of the departed souls) and in fact, the only occasions where we see this occurring it is warned against.
The Bible is clear, over 33 verses say the dead lie in rest. The dead are sleeping until judgement. Think of the story of Lazarus, he was sleeping when he died, if he was in heaven, Jesus Christ would have never resurrected him.
I'm sticking to what Jesus says. He is the truth, the life and the only way to the father. No one else. He also CLEARLY gave instructions how to pray. Is Mary special? Definitely! End of story.
Thanks for calling Mike out, Bryan! I got deceived to leave the Catholic Church by many Protestant RUclipsrs, but I don't wish to get revenge on them as they were victims of Protestantism

I have a question. If all the souls were dead before Jesus death, and only after his resurrection they were brought to life, then how was it possible for Jesus to meet with Moses and Elijah during the transfiguration when at the time they should have been dead?
Souls are immortal and hence cannot die in that sense. However, they were denied entrance to the beatific vision (ie heaven). Peter testifies that before his Resurrection Jesus went to the souls in "prison" (this would be sheol (Greek Hades), the place of the dead and sometimes referred to as the limbo of the fathers or the bosom of Abraham). They were waiting there for the gates of heaven to be opened by the redeeming sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus. 1 Peter 3 For Christ also died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit; 19 in which he went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20 who formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were saved through water. 21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers subject to him.
When lazarus died, did Jesus say i’ll bring him back to life after my resurrection? He said Lazarus, come out! And the dead man came out. Same thing happened to the little girl who died. He said she was just sleeping and held the girl’s hand and the girl stood up Mt9:23-25 For Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life whoever believes in me, even though they die, will live. Exodus 20:2-6 KJV [2] I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. [3] Thou shalt have no other gods before me. [4] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: [5] thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; [6] and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Luke 1:46-55 KJV [46] And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, [47] And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. [48] For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: For, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. [49] For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; And holy is his name. [50] And his mercy is on them that fear him From generation to generation. [51] He hath shewed strength with his arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. [52] He hath put down the mighty from their seats, And exalted them of low degree. [53] He hath filled the hungry with good things; And the rich he hath sent empty away. [54] He hath holpen his servant Israel, In remembrance of his mercy; [55] As he spake to our fathers, To Abraham, and to his seed for ever.
Wait as minute, you just quoted Jesus saying that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were alive, then you turn around and say that all who died in the old Covenant were dead???
OMG 😮! Wow, this is so beautiful! The deception of the reformation is astounding! I’ve been seeking truth, and EVERY TIME I’ve listened to Both Sides of each issue Orthodox Christian faith and Catholic faith have the come out absolutely on top and it MAKES sense!! Thank you 🙏🏻 for a great explanation and understanding
You don't need any human explaining to you if you read the Bible. Even prophecy the people explain it wrong. Pray to ask God to explain it before reading the Bible.

Amen thank you bryan. Contracting the dead is evil actualy Mike is right contracting the dead is occult practice. But when we pray to Mother Mary She is not dead. We beleive Mother Mary is alive body and soul in heaven. Praying to Her is not occult. Praying to the saints was christian practices since the early days of the Church.
Where in the bible does it say the beloved Mary was taken to heaven in full bodily form?? Ive never read that part and honestly it sounds like something the Catholics made up . Like they are known to do. Dont tell me about some church father either. Where exactly in the bible. Ya know the word of God. Thanks and Godbless
Just because we're all Saints doesn't mean that some people aren't holier than others and don't follow Christ more fully and perfectly than others because they do. Whereas others are very hardcore and faithful, and thus more holy.
About a year ago I was praying, and this came to me. I looked it up on the internet and it said that all Jewish Kings (Jesus Is) selected their mother as their Queen because they have so many wives, Jesus did that, Mary is our advocate. (Nuns, like Mother Theresa, marry Jesus, they commit their lives to Jesus there have been millions). Over the years billions have loved her, so should you. Mary loves us with a Mothers Heart., She is Queen of heaven and earth. God Bless you
I John 2:1 NKJV [1] My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. Scripture teaches that it is Jesus who is fulfills the roll of Advocate not Mary. You will not find any passage within scripture that teaches that Mary is our advocate. You will also not find a single passage that claims Mary as queen of heaven.
@@iggyantioch Christ is currently seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven. Mark 16:19 [19] So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God."
From our Catholic understanding this: According to ancient tradition and the sacred liturgy, the main principle on which the royal dignity of Mary rests is without doubt her divine motherhood. In holy writ, concerning the son whom Mary will conceive, we read this sentence: “He shall be called the son of the most high, and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father, and he shall reign in the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end,” and in addition Mary is called “Mother of the Lord.” From this it is easily concluded that she is a queen, since she bore a son who, at the very moment of his conception, because of the hypostatic union of the human nature with the Word, was also, as man, king and lord of all things. So with complete justice St. John Damascene could write: “When she became mother of the creator, she truly became queen of every creature.” Likewise, it can be said that the heavenly voice of the Archangel Gabriel was the first to proclaim Mary’s royal office.
its always some new guy barfing the trash thats been refuted thousands of years ago already , this broken record is remedial with these goofy protestants
Thank you brother Bryan for this very excellent and informative video. And a huge thanks for defending the Catholic faith which were handed down and practiced for over two thousand years. You're a true gift to the Catholic Church.
Good one catholic truth Mary should always be defended in good faith, protestants should think about what Jesus said " I I'm the resurrection and the life, he that believeth in me shall never die" Mary was the first to believe🙏, so why do non catholics contradict the scriptures? God bless 🙌
I was a nondom Christian, Calvary Chapel, for 30 years and found the Church that was started by our Lord Jesus Christ, The Catholic Church, 7 years ago by Studying the early Church Fathers after reading the book "Rome Sweet Home" by Scott Hahn and listening to Patrick Madrid on Relevant Radio. Thank you for making these videos and your kind and generous take on anti-Catholic arguments! "Millions say they hate the Catholic Church for what they think it is, but only a few hate it for what it truly is." -Bishop Fulton Sheen. Blessings & Prayers for you.
Hello / Evangelical Christian here: My childhood best friend, on FB, who is a Catholic is always posting mostly Catholic messages. One recent meme he posted noted this word for word: "If you are in danger, if your hearts are confused, turn to Mary; She is our comfort, our help; turn towards her and you will be saved" St. Francis Xavier. I was very much confused by this message & showed it to some of my Christians brothers. Great to here CT explain the Catholic position on Mary, in further depth, as there appears to be some level of misunderstanding, at least from my perspective. God Bless / PTL
The Bereans were praised in Scripture for reading Scriptures to make sure what was being preached by Paul was actually true. So, there is a prescedent reading Scripture and checking if what people say is actually in Scripture. Also, Jesus sang hymns with the disciples so, those are expected.
The Bereans were not praised for searching the scriptures. If you look at the Greek, they were praised for not rioting and trying to kill Paul and Barnabas like the Thessalonians did. However, the Thessalonians also searched the scriptures, and some accepted what Paul said and some rejected what his message. So both cities searched the scriptures. Yet, only one city rioted, in the Greek word denotes that the bereans were more civilized and peaceful. The Bereans were jews, and Jews did not believe in the Bible alone.
We have no problem with checking scripture. The Catholic church is not against that and has done that for 2000 years. Our problem is with the Bible alone, the keyword being alone, when people ignore the Traditions that the New Testament tells us to keep and the church that Jesus divinely established himself.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial I went and read the greek transliteration and it doesn't seem to say what you said it says, and there is a sect of Judaism that believes in Torah alone without the Talmud or any Rabbis, so, I tend to disbelieve your argument entirely.
It absolutely says that. Even Protestant commentaries note the greek on runway and affirm that. Would be happy to give you a full explanation if you wish. One small sect of believing in the Torah alone does not mean that the bereans were part of that sect. The vast majority of all Jews did not believe in the Bible alone but in the tradition and the teaching authority of moses. Anyone who rejected the teaching authority of Moses wasn't a real Jew.
I guess Catholics do not know that Jesus thought us how to pray. But when the things of man matter to you more then the things of God the you pray to Mary. I think it says our Father who is in Heaven not our Mary or saints who are in heaven.
What's ironic, is unlike protestants, we actually pray the Our father that Jesus taught us. Any Protestants just say "Father God" every other word for like 10 minutes. Jesus didn't teach us to do that. Nor did he teach us to have praise and worship bands. Also, we don't to say our mother in heaven or our Saints in heaven, so stop making silly straw man arguments.
After a long time from being away from (and even against) the church, today I have chosen to repent. If any of you are willing, please pray for me. I have a difficult confession ahead of me.
Prayers coming your way. I just went to confession last night. Last time Father Chris got me hooked on the Humility Prayer and it has been one heck of a journey these past 4 months. Last night he said now it's time for me to start saying the Surrender Novena. Can't wait to see what happens in the upcoming months. God Bless
You can do it friend, I left for 7 years and made my first confession in over 10 year last year . It was rough but it was so uplifting and moving. I will pray for you my friend Glory to Jesus Christ!🙏☦️♥️
When I was going through RCIA, several Protestants who hung out on Keith Nester's channel would send me videos of Mike Winger and also Mike Gendron. I'd like to say they helped me with my conversion to Catholicism. It probably wasn't their intent but that's what happened. Once I read the books of Kings and Chronicles, I saw how biblical Mary as Queen. Then in Revelation 12, it shows Mary in heaven as queen. Even though I was Protestant for 55 years, I'm extremely blessed to be Catholic
Thank you Bryan for always defending our blessed mother. It’s sad to see Calvinist like mike winger spreading lies about our lady. We must pray for our Protestant brothers and sisters they will see the truth about our amazing mother Mary.
Matthew 6 Vs 6 - pray to your Father who is in secret and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. THIS IS JESUS TELLING US HOW WE AUGHT TO PRAY, VERY CLEAR INSTRUCTION! Vs - 9 Then he leads by example with “The Lord’s Prayer” THE END!

This was great. Request that the channel does something like this for Doreen Virtue. I peripherally followed her in a new age era, and it was discovering her conversion ("oh shoot....she's right") that got me back to my childhood religion, however I think she's Reformed and rigid and highly anti-Catholic to a offputting degree, reminds me of Mike W. but even worse. Thanks Bryan!
@@johnchacko1425 It's fascinating that a history lesson, even a secular one, would blow their theology out the window but, they refuse to accept any information contary to what they heard on their first go around even with hard evidence.
Doreen Virtue "converted" to Christianity not even a year ago. She isn't qualified to speak on literally anything related to the faith. Let alone taking on some form of "teaching" role online.
I cannot thank you enough for this very clear understanding as to why as a Catholic why we believe in intercesorry prayers, the Communion with the Saints.

So Saul contacting Samuel was wrong because the latter was still dead at the time in the sense that his soul was still tied to his body, not yet ascended into Heaven, which is why Saul required magic in order to make it happen. But post-Jesus, all saved souls were freed from their mortal cage and ascended into Heaven, at which point contact with the deceased no longer requires magic, hence why it's now justifiable. Do I have that correct? And if so, does this mean it's acceptable to pray to my dead relatives who are saved (or any saved person for that matter) or am I restricted to Church-approved Saints and Mary?
Saul was in trouble for seeking a witch to meet Samuel not necessarily because he spoke to the dead. In one of John's letters, he actually says to challenge spirits in chapter four. Beloved, do not trust every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. For many false prophets have gone out into the world.
@@georgepierson4920? Most people give an explanation after dismissing an explanation. If you aren't supposed to speak or contact the dead then challenging spirits would be prohibited.
The role of Mary as intercessor became much clearer to me when I understood the rule of the Queen Mother in Jewish culture, (like Queen Bathsheba and Solomon) which wouldn’t need to be explained to the first Christians because they already would have known this.
Pray to Mary and the Saints in a thankful and grateful manner all you want. But I worship Jesus, Father God and the Holy Spirit and dont ever consider praying to Mary and the Saint's. They were humans that were given gifts from God, which we are thankful for. But not to be worshipped.
I don't know this Protestant guy but he needs to research and study on the doctrine of "The Communion of Saints". His weak, mumbling remarks are so old and immature. There is so much evidence for it, Church history, early Church Fathers quotes, the Bible and just common sense. John 15:1-6 - Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. The good branches are not cut off at death. They are alive in heaven. To live is Christ and to die is GAIN! Phillipians 1:21❤ We are all connected as ONE BODY, like a plumbing system. We don't lose connection at death. We are all connected in heaven, earth and purgatory. One body. Who shall separate US from the LOVE OF CHRIST? ❤ ...not even death.
Blind guides leading the blind. All prayer and consulting the dead people are off limits. If we can pray to Mary l can now pray to any dead person even the dead in Hell.
All prohibitions against talking to the dead were in the Old Testament because Jesus had not died or risen yet. Therefore, people died and were rotting in the grave. They couldn't hear you. They were not conscious. There was no way to talk to them unless you practiced some black magic or something, or you conjured up their spirit like Saul did. However, Jesus is alive. He conquered sin, shattered death, and is alive forever, more in glory. In Mt. 27:52, It says that the graves of those who had died broke open and they were walking around. So these people are not dead any more, thanks to Christ, but are alive and not in the grave. Everyone who follows him are alive forever in heaven (Rev. 6:9) and perfected in his life and righteousness. Therefore, they are not dead in the grave but are alive in heaven, which is a big difference. Even the bible shows people in heaven taking our prayers before God. (Rev. 5:8; 8:3-4).
The thing about Winger’s “she is dead” argument, that many Protestants make, is that it denies that we have eternal life. Which is as core of a belief as there is in Christianity. So they are doubling up on heresy. The first retort when they are called out on that is her ability to hear this realm from Heaven. Which, of course, then denies that God has the ability to allow the saints in Heaven to hear us. Thus denying that God is all powerful. Tripling heresy burger now. His “Samuel rebuked him big time” claim is weak too. Samuel is confused as to why his ghost was being contacted. Insofar as Samuel is mad, he is mad because Saul is asking him something that Saul had already asked him and received an answer to himself. So his anger at being spoken to in death isn’t simply because he is contacted while dead. He is mad that he is being asked something he already answered while in life. The only strawman they have to hang on is claiming that Catholics think Mary has the powers of God. She does not. No well catechized Catholic believes that.
1 Timothy 2:5-6 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Yes, we agree that Jesus is the unique mediator between God and man, and Catholics have taught that for 2000 years. However, that does not mean people cannot pray and intercede for us. Don’t you ask your friends, family, and pastors to pray for you? Why? If asking Mary and the Saints to pray for us interferes with the mediation of Jesus (even though that’s not what that means), then by the same logic, we cannot ask others to pray for us and we cannot pray for them if they ask. A mediator is someone you put between you and God. So it's a false dichotomy. The truth is that according to the Bible, 1 Tim. 2:1-4, praying for other people is a good thing that pleases God. So we are allowed to pray for each other without interfering with the mediation role of Jesus. In other words, our loved ones can pray to Jesus on our behalf and then he takes the prayers perfectly before the father. Likewise, Mary and the Saints also pray to Jesus on our behalf and he takes all of their prayers perfectly before the father. It's the same thing. If no one can pray for you without interfering with the role of Jesus, stop asking people on earth to pray for you too.
Thank you for the video, very informative, as usual. However, I think you missed a point this time. The Bible forbids talking to the dead, as in trying to get information from them. We’re still forbidden to do that. Probably because demons could easily use that to deceive us. But asking for their intercessional prayers is not the same, we’re not trying to get information from them.
7:00 what part of physically dead do you not understand? Winger is not saying Mary is dead in the spirit realm just dead physically and you come out with a pretty weak argument!
I was recently reading the History of the Church, by Eusebius of Cesarea, and I noticed the very interesting story of Basilides and Potamiana. It contains a description of the intercession of the martyr Potamiana on behalf of soldier Basilides, along with several aparitions, which probably constitutes one of the first documents that concerns the intercession of saints and the community of saints. It made me understand these twin doctrines better.
*Eusebius, Church History, Book VI, Chapter 5* 1. Basilides may be counted the seventh of these. He led to martyrdom the celebrated Potamiæna, who is still famous among the people of the country for the many things which she endured for the preservation of her chastity and vir... nity. For she was blooming in the perfection of her mind and her physical graces. Having suffered much for the faith of Christ, finally after tortures dreadful and terrible to speak of, she with her mother, Marcella, was put to death by fire. 2. They say that the judge, Aquila by name, having inflicted severe tortures upon her entire body, at last threatened to hand her over to the gladiators for bodily abuse. After a little consideration, being asked for her decision, she made a reply which was regarded as impious. 3. Thereupon she received sentence immediately, and Basilides, one of the officers of the army, led her to death. But as the people attempted to annoy and insult her with abusive words, he drove back her insulters, showing her much pity and kindness. And perceiving the man's sympathy for her, she exhorted him to be of good courage, for she would supplicate her Lord for him after her departure, and he would soon receive a reward for the kindness he had shown her. 4. Having said this, she nobly sustained the issue, burning pitch being poured little by little, over various parts of her body, from the sole of her feet to the crown of her head. Such was the conflict endured by this famous maiden. 5. Not long after this Basilides, being asked by his fellow-soldiers to swear for a certain reason, declared that it was not lawful for him to swear at all, for he was a Christian, and he confessed this openly. At first they thought that he was jesting, but when he continued to affirm it, he was led to the judge, and, acknowledging his conviction before him, he was imprisoned. But the brethren in God coming to him and inquiring the reason of this sudden and remarkable resolution, he is reported to have said that Potamiæna, for three days after her martyrdom, stood beside him by night and placed a crown on his head and said that she had besought the Lord for him and had obtained what she asked, and that soon she would take him with her. 6. Thereupon the brethren gave him the seal of the Lord; and on the next day, after giving glorious testimony for the Lord, he was beheaded. And many others in Alexandria are recorded to have accepted speedily the word of Christ in those times. 7. For Potamiæna appeared to them in their dreams and exhorted them. But let this suffice in regard to this matter.
This guy believes his wife’s prayers are better than Mary’s 🤣 Mary is not dead. These people misinterpret scripture so bad it’s just sad. Nobody is dead after this life. We live forever it just depends where we go.
"Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!" is a much better translation of that passage of scripture. Your translation stems from the KJV which, while translating from the original Greek, was heavily influenced by Jerome's Vulgate (and unfortunately Jerome had a lot of translational shortcomings) and pulled "gratia plena" from his translation when in actuality, rather than "full of grace" Mary is "favored" as in "you have found favor with God" which is language reminiscent of passages about Noah and Abraham in the Old Testament where the emphasis is on the gracious act of the Lord finding favor in these subjects rather than the emphasis being on anything they did to earn that favor. When the Lord "finds favor" it is a testament to the Lord's preservation of the Messianic line promised in the protoevangelium and most of all a testament to the Lord's graciousness, something that the KJV and Vulgate butcher by putting the focus on Mary's grace
Explain that to God when you are judged for breaking the 1st and the 2nd commandment. Praying and worshipping someone other than the one true God. 2nd creating an idol.

I would like to thank Mike for at least trying to be respectful and loving twords Catholics. He's wrong, but you can tell that he is trying to come from a place of love and that should be recognized.
I would imagine that if Mary is involved in petitions and and influencing it would be in complete harmony with the Will of God and she is also in submission to His Sovereignty.
I agree with alex123 "at least Mike was respectful and loving towards catholics" i don't find that in most of the comments towards Mike, not even in the debunking! That is a lost opportunity and weakens the argument.
Mary is set apart and wholly unique. She is the daughter of the Father, the mother of the Word Incarnate and spouse of the Holy Spirit. She will always lead you to Christ!
When I read the Bible and see there's no Bible alone anywhere or faith alone, (James 2:24) it brings me right to Catholicism instead of all the false Bible only religions. And Purgatory is biblical, we have a whole video on it. There is more biblical evidence for Purgatory than there is for the Bible alone which is your central doctrine.
"When I read the Bible and see there's no purgatory" You missed it. Purgatory is implicit not explicit in scripture, one example below _For no other foundation can any one lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any one builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble-each man’s work will become manifest; for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work which any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire_ (1 Cor) Recap - the passage is speaking of a spiritual reality after death - one in hell can not be saved - one in heaven can not suffer loss - it is speaking of another state of being, purgatory - where one IS saved but only as as through fire (the soul being cleansed of all desire to sin) Revelation (21 27) says that "nothing unclean" shall enter heaven. We shall become 100% righteous, yet when we die our souls are still stained by sin, and the inclination to sin. There is thus a process between death and heaven where we are made clean. Catholics have a word for it. Protestants, the vast majority, never think of the topic. "I left the Catholic Church." You left Jesus on the altar, receiving his resurrected body and blood, a means for receiving his grace, as ALL CHRISTIANS did for over 1500 years. Protestant grape juice and crackers is just that. I can get the same in my kitchen. Jesus awaits for your return.
If more non-Catholics would put aside their bigotry and rejection of Catholicism for a while and read a few books by the biblical scholar Dr Brant Pitre PhD, I'm sure their eyes would be opened! He writes in the context of 1st century Judaism. This shows what the Jews then understood about the words of Jesus Christ. How they interpreted it. Here are a few books I recommend Jesus and the Jewish roots of Mary Jesus and the Jewish roots of the Eucharist Another author is the former Protestant minister Dr Scott Hahn. Rome Sweet Home Hail Holy Queen And others.
Dr Brant's RUclips presentation of the Jewish roots of the Eucharist blew my mind. Dr Brant is brilliant in his educational / theological teachings. Glad to see his name getting spread around a lot more as I'm trying to set up a thing in my local Catholic church where we can use his material for "bible study" groups or catechetics teachings as so many people in my area just don't know the basics of Catholicism especially The Eucharist.

Can you tell me where in the Bible did God make Mary the queen of Heaven? Also can you tell me where in the Bible Mary went up to heaven in her human form floating up to the sky?
Thanks for the question. If you read 1 and 2 Kings, you will read about the Queen Mother. The king of Israel always had his mother reign by his side. For example, Bathsheba with King David. She has a throne seat right next to his when he is enthroned as King. The queen mother is often mentioned and is even listed among the members of the Royal Court in 2 Kings 24. In Jeremiah 13, her royal office is also described by the prophet Jeremiah, who tells how the queen mother possessed a throne and a crown, symbolic of her position of authority in the kingdom. Jesus is the new and eternal king of Israel, and Mary his mother would naturally be the queen mother which is exactly what we see in Revelation 12. Likewise, in Luke, Elizabeth calls Mary, "the mother of my Lord." This was the exact phrase that people called the queen mother in the Old Testament. The kings of old always honored to their mother is, and who wouldn't honor their mother more than Jesus himself? He is not afraid of her nor threatened by her, or any of his saints for that matter. But rather, he is happy to glorify us with his own Glory. A picture of this can be seen Revelation 12. A woman who is clothed in the Sun and had a crown of twelve stars. This same woman gave birth to a male child that would be the ruler of all nations (Jesus). Thus, we see this in Scripture.
This is funny. How to be Christian does a reaction to several of Mike Wingers videos where he shows where Mike Winger is adding in words to make his conclusions in the bible. I’m glad the internet exists where people can put videos online that highlight the truth and dialogue happens so much. It’s great to be alive
I’m Protestant & used to watch Mike Winger’s videos regularly. I had to unsubscribe when I saw he easily & how much he lies about Catholics. I’m glad to listen to people with different perspectives & opinions, but I won’t listen to people who will lie to win an argument, etc. because then you just can’t trust anything they say.
@@southbug27when I was a Protestant Pastor, I got so annoyed with Winger because even I (as someone not interested in Catholicism at the time) could refute his clear misunderstandings of the Catholic positions. There are good arguments to make against Catholicism, and much better Protestant apologists, so I don’t know why Winger can’t at least do his homework and do better.
Protestant faith and it’s doctrines and dogmas can be traced to the Quran and Hadiths. It’s reformed Islam 1. Sola Scriptura was introduced and enforced by Allah in Quran 5:44 and 5:49 2. 'Once saved always saved' was introduced by allah in Sahih al-Bukhari 20, Book 2, Hadith 13 3. Prohibition of use of Gold, the second most import commandment of Pentecostal congregations in India, was introduced by Allah in Sunan Abi Dawud 4238, book 36, Hadith:25 4. The doctrine of Sola fide was first introduced by allah in Sahih al-Bukhari 1338, Book 23, Hadith 93. 5. The hadith that discourages use of cross as it may contribute to idol worship was introduced by Allah in Sahih a hi l-Bukhari 5952, Book 77, Hadith 168 6. The allegation that Christians worship mother Mary first appeared in Quran 5:116. 7. No purgatory neither any soul that can visit the living - [ Surah Al-An’am (Quran 6:14)] once a person dies, they have no power to return to the world of the living. [Surah Al-Mu’minun ( Quran 23:100)] a barrier (barzakh) exists between the dead and the living until the Day of Resurrection.
Why would you even watch a Protestant liked him anyway? Did you know that it was considered venially sinful for Catholics to tune in to Protestant radio broadcasts back I the day? That's because they are odious heretics who mutilate and corrupt the faith and are outside the Church, and to place yourself deliberately in a situation where your faith can be undermined is a near occasion of sin.
Hi Bryan, thank you so much for debunking this video! I also put this on your stream with Michael Lofton on his channel, but I wanted to put this here so that you could see this. While we're on the subject of debunking Prostestants on Mary and Catholicism in general, would you be able to do a video addressing the RUclipsr Jidion? If you're not familiar with him Jidion is a former RUclips prankster who about 2 months ago announced that he would be returning to his Christian faith. It seems he's pretty serious, as he's deleted his old content (his new channel is @GiDeon1444) and he has been making a lot of Christianity related content lately. Unfortunately, it seems that he has been discipled by somebody who I believe is leading him down the wrong path. His pastor is a guy named Brother Josh, and he's appeared a lot on his channel and the two stream on their discord server a few times a week. I sat in on one of those streams this past Saturday, and the topic was Sola Scriptura. Unfortunately Brother Josh turned the lesson into approximately 6 hours of Catholic bashing. He was deliberately misrepresenting the Catholic position on a number of things, and he was making a lot of bad faith arguments. I was in and out of the stream as I was going about my Saturday night, and he didn't allow for Catholic members of the server to speak until near the end of the stream when most had left. There were also several Catholics in the server who were kicked out for trying to refute Brother Josh. In charity, I do not fault Jidion for this, because I genuinely believe that he doesn't know anything about Catholicism beside what Brother Josh has told him. On the part of Brother Josh, however, I believe that he is willfully ignorant if what the Church teaches and is feeding both Jidion and the rest of the server false information. He also has some questionable theological positions even for a Protestant (he has espoused non-Trinitarian views, along with pro-Judaizing views). On top of this, he seems to not be open to debate an actual Catholic apologist who would have an answer for everything that he says, instead opting for the Ben Shapiro route of only debating against teens/college kids/random members of the server. It concerns me that due to his close proximity to someone like Jidion he would be leading a lot of people my age away from the fullness of the truth. Would you be willing to do a video taking a closer look and refuting Brother Josh's claims against the Church, and hopefully try to bring him into a debate either on yours or Jidion's channel? Would you be willing to have a one-on-one discussion with Jidion to clear up his misconceptions about Catholicism?

And God did not have to use Mary to influence Jesus to start HIS ministery but God teaches us in this way, that we can be there for one another, we can help each other in a positive and good way. We all know that Jesus could have started it all on HIS own but God is opening up our eyes to the fact that we can advise, guide or teach one another through HIS Son and our Immaculate Heart Mary
I contend that every protestant you tube preacher intensionally misrepresents or knowingly lies about Catholicism. They are not invincibly ignorant they are willfully sinning against the church Jesus established. Mat10:32-33, 32 So every one who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven; 33 but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.
Many are ignorant. Maybe not invincibly, but certainly ignorant. We can't assume people are intentionally misrepresenting others unless we have facts to back it up. And we always have to assume the best of others unless we know differently according to the saints. Please pray for him and others like him.
So if every living soul on earth and in heaven prays for something that is not in line with the will of Jesus, God the Father and Holy Spirit is it then considered futile?
You make a good argument. I am curious about 1 Thessalonians 4. If those who died are asleep in Jesus then would they be able to know what is going on on Earth? Would someone who is asleep be able to help us with our prayers? Just curious.
@@jasonrichards3785 Jason, how have you been my friend? Good to see you another video. I believe that God has already wiped away the tears from those in Heaven. In Revelation 7 are you pointing to verse 14? From my understanding this is a reference to the "great tribulation" that Jesus speaks of in Matthew 24:20 Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. Which I understand occurred in 70 AD when the Romans destroyed the temple. So when we get to the end of Revelation 7 when we read "and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” The their in this verse is pointing to the people that came out of the "great tribulation". Basically the ones that listened to Jesus and left Jerusalem before the Temple was destroyed. Which would mean the ones spoken of here are already in heaven and already had their tears wiped away. Now in Revelation 21 this is speaking of the second coming when all creation will be transformed and there will be a new heaven and a new earth no longer subject to death and suffering. Sure this points to God wiping away every tear from their eyes, but I think the their in this chapter is referring to all the saved which would include those that are still alive at the second coming who would still have tears in their eyes and not those who have already passed on. Just my thoughts on the verses. If you were pointed to something different let me know. God Bless
Just a note about ~4:30 ‐ asking for a girlfriend probably shouldnt be compared to asking for a car or a million dollars or called not in line with God's will (unless it's really not someone's vocation, but that will get discerned). That of course also depends on intent (intending for a short term relationship as opposed to a future wife).

the real problem of the protestan is that they think mary is equal to them. she carried christ inside her womb. she is different. she is not like us. she is greater than us. what if god decide to give her power to work to take human beings to heaven.
I have an issue with the distinction you are making regarding old vs new covenant prohibitions. When Christ is transfigured, appearing with him are Moses and Elijah. This happens prior to the death and resurrection of Jesus. So for me that makes your point a little less succinct of a notion that previous they were dead but post resurrection they are alive in Christ. Some clarity is needed for this point in my finite mind. And my heart is generously appreciative for your kind reply. Thank you greatly for the work you do on your channel.
Luke 2:49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business? Jesus was always focused His heavenly Fathers will..... Jesus taught us how to pray. Matthew 6:9-13
@@markwilson1724, He absolutely did, and no one disputes that, but keep in mind that some translations say (why were you looking for me, did you not know that I must be in my father's house). Does that mean we only find Jesus withing the walls of a building? (Of course, not). No true Catholic believes that Mary can influence Jesus, but if it is for the glory of His Kingdom and it is His will, He will never deny her request because first and foremost she is the most perfect disciple of our Lord. She was the first one to ever accept Him as her savior. Second Luke 1:38 she declares herself a slave for God. Third she only wants to magnify and glorify the kingdom. Luke 1: 46 "My soul glorifies the Lord". Mark, its (both and) not (either or) my Brother. Also keep in mind the Bible mentions multiple references to the Angels and Saints in Heaven interceding on our behalf and watching over us. Hebrews 12:1 (We are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses.) Luke 15:7 Jesus himself says (There will be more joy in heaven, over the repentance of 1 sinner) in order for there to be joy in heaven that means those in heaven must be aware of what's going on here on earth. Revelations 5:8 (the four living creatures and 24 elders present bowls of incense which are the prayers of the saints.) Thank you so much for taking time to reply to my comment. I sincerely hope you have a blessed weekend. God bless you Brother

@@William2015-q4h Jesus greatest honour was always to do His Heavenly Fathers will. The greatest prayer in the Bible taught by Jesus is the Lord's prayer. "Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be thy name" to be held in reverence & Holy awe ❤️ Prayer is an act of spiritual expression that brings us into the conformity to the very nature and purpose of God.
Souls in HEAVEN aren’t dead but alive. Our God is the God of the living, not the dead. Those truly dead are the souls in Hell. Trying to talk to dead souls in Hell is dangerous and indeed forbidden by the Church. As to the terms “sleep” and “sleeping”, it emphasizes the fact that those who die in Christ are not truly dead. As their bodies sleep in the grave awaiting the resurrection, their souls are alive in Heaven. As to praying to souls in Heaven: One reason we can ask them to go to Jesus on our behalf is that they are LIVING souls who God loves, speaks with and hears. Mark 12:26-27 “And as concerning the dead that they rise again have you not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spoke to him, saying: I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead [the damned], but of the living.” Luke 20:34-38 - “And Jesus said to them: The children of this world marry and are given in marriage: But they that shall be accounted worthy of that world and of the resurrection from the dead shall neither be married nor take wives. Neither can they die any more for they are equal to the angels and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. Now that the dead rise again, Moses also shewed at the bush, when he called the Lord: The God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. For he is not the God of the dead, but of the living: for all live to him.”
I honor Mother of Jesus Christ Mary 1:48 for he has remembered me, his lowly servant, FROM NOW ON ALL PEOPLE WILL CALL ME BLESSED, MIGHTY GOD HAS DONE FOR ME, HIS NAME IS HOLY.
If we can ask our brothers and sisters who are on earth for their intercession why not ask our brothers and sisters who are now glorified in Heaven? We ask this at ever Mass. Also, the use of Samuel is of a different nature. Conjuring up a soul through the use of a witch is different from asking their intercession through prayer in, with and through Christ. It is Christ that is the answer. All intercession is done through Christ as head of the body and makes all prayer possible.
The disdain and disrespect that protestants show the mother of our Lord is bewildering! They might as well become Talmudic Jews, you should read what the Talmud says about Christ and mary.
Amen, very well refuted. Rev 12 John saw the virgin Mary in the heavenly temple crowned with twelve stars, clothed with the sun and the earth under her feet probably an allusion to her victory in Christ over the enemy whom God put under her feet as prophesied in the book of Genesis. It's worth noticing that St Paul never taught slaves to pray for their freedom as he was well aware that they were completely free in Christ with the understanding that they ought to avail themselves of their freedom if the opportunity ever presented itself to them. Jesus said that his kingdom is not (yet) of this world, but he must reign until God has put all his enemies under his feet then he will present the kingdom to God and the Son himself will be subjected to the Father who will be all in all. Hooray! no men will then be slaves to his fellow men. The book of Revelation does reveal that at the end the kingdom of this world will become the kingdom of our God and of his Christ. What a mighty victory that will be!!

I challenge any one of you to show one example of a person who is still in the world in prayer to someone in heaven other than God. One example of Jesus, any old testament profit or new testament apostle teaching that we who are still in the world should pray to anyone other than God in heaven.
Revelation 5:8 And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints If the prayers went directly to God then how did the 24 elders get the golden bowls full of our prayers. I would argue they got them because Hebrews 12 tells us 22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, 23 and to the assembly of the first-born who are enrolled in heaven, and to a judge who is God of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks more graciously than the blood of Abel. The writer of Hebrews teaches us here that as Christians we should approach not just God but also a number of heavenly beings including the spirits of just men made perfect (the saints in heaven). Final in Revelation 8 we read that the prayers of the saints were delivered to God by the angel. Sure you could argue that there is no direct example of the person praying to a saint, but there are examples of the saints having the pray in their possession and them presenting said pray to God. God Bless

@@mack6429 I gave you an answer right up there. Do you agree or disagree? And on what basis? *_If you truly knew the RCC then you would know that the RCC makes the claim that all it's teaching can be found in scripture in one form or another._* In the Second Vatican Council’s document on divine revelation, Dei Verbum (Latin: “The Word of God”), the relationship between Tradition and Scripture is explained: “Hence there exists a close connection and communication between sacred Tradition and sacred Scripture. For both of them, flowing from the same divine wellspring, in a certain way merge into a unity and tend toward the same end. For sacred Scripture is the word of God inasmuch as it is consigned to writing under the inspiration of the divine Spirit. To the successors of the apostles, sacred Tradition hands on in its full purity God’s word, which was entrusted to the apostles by Christ the Lord and the Holy Spirit. “Thus, by the light of the Spirit of truth, these successors can in their preaching preserve this word of God faithfully, explain it, and make it more widely known. *_Consequently it is not from sacred Scripture alone_* that the Church draws her certainty about everything which has been revealed. Therefore both sacred Tradition and sacred Scripture are to be accepted and venerated with the same devotion and reverence.” Hope that helps put a little light on the subject. Thanks, God Bless
Great vid, Bryan. There's another fatal flaw in Mike's argument, and that is that we're not summoning the dead back into the world of the living in order to start communicating with them [that would be proper necromancy, as in his wrongful comparison to the witch of Endor], that's a very different scenario, which proves Mike has a very flawed understanding of what praying to the saints even is or how it works; but that they, being alive in heaven, pray and speak in our behalf before God, with whom they have a perfect communion and friendship [as you well pointed out. I was actually going to comment on Mike's vid the other day, but I let it go because it had already been a couple of days since he uploaded it, and it was also very late for me and I was kinda' tired, but I'm very glad you did this vid, so I can at least share this comment here, if not in his own vid. @@jackieo8693 When I studied prayer in the Bible it is an act, when done properly, directed to God alone. Is Jesus not loving enough to listen to his followers? Is God the father not loving enough to listen to his children? Do those children not now have the Holy Spirit that the scripture says intercedes for us in our weakness? When Peter entered the house of Cornelius and Cornelius bowed to him didn't Peter tell Cornelius to get up because he is a man just like him? Are there any examples of the apostles or disciples praying to Stephen the first martyr, who saw Jesus himself sitting at the right hand of the father? Catechumen here. Thankyou for this video. I recently read St Louis de Montfort. I know this isn't official dogma of the church, I did find it good overall but there were parts where he said things like "all grace from God is dispensed via Mary" and that "God cannot refuse Mary" On the surface I feel like this goes overboard. Or at the very least it made me feel uncomfortable and seemed overly reactional to protestantism and saying these kinds of things could be harmful for bringing other protestants (like I was) into Holy Mother church. Id personally add in addition to the middle argument that the bible condemns divination, (enquiries) seeking information from the dead. Sending prayers is a one way communication, its not trying to force information from the dead. Anyway, I appreciate this video. God bless you.
*_Catechumen here. Thankyou for this video._* Sending out prayers for you on you journey to the Church. *_I know this isn't official dogma of the church, I did find it good overall but there were parts where he said things like "all grace from God is dispensed via Mary"_* From my understanding of this statement the underlying meaning is that all graces come from Christ and seeing that Christ came into the world through the Virgin Mary it is a logical conclusion that grace was dispensed through her. To dispense means to give out or distribute, there for when Mary dispensed Christ (I know that sounds kind of disrespectful) to the world, through her yes, God dispensed all graces (that come from Christ) through her. Not sure if that helps, but yeah if we don't look to the deeper theology then on the surface it does look like it goes overboard. I was taught that everything we believe about Mary is there to show glory to Jesus and tell us something about him, in some way, so we need to look for that deeper meaning. *_that "God cannot refuse Mary"_* The theology for this comes from Mary being the Mother of the King. Even without the theology I don't see an issue with this. Personally I don't think God would refuse anyone in heaven. Why can I say this? Because we know in order to get into heaven our wills must be in line with God's will. So basically my point is it's not like she is going to ask for something that isn't in line with God's will. As an example if I was to pray to Mary to ask God to let me win the lottery next week, my guess would be she would go to Jesus and say hey check out this joker asking me to pray for him to win the lottery, as if he thinks that will make him happy and solve all his problems, could you please send him more grace so he can realize that You are all he needs. I'm thinking God wouldn't refuse that prayer. *_Sending prayers is a one way communication, its not trying to force information from the dead._* Amen to that. God Bless

@@Jerome-72 brother you could say the same thing about Jesus... If Jesus is with us spiritually until the end of the age then where does that leave the HS? If Jesus is the mediator to the Father then where is the HS? If Jesus is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent then why send the Paraclete instead of doing it himself? The HS guides the church into Truth, keeps her from error, bestows the gifts of the spirit and is the bond of love between us and God and the others of the Church. He helps us in very specific ways, and without Him we'd be TOAST. That doesn't mean the Father doesn't allow others, even you and me; to be coworkers with Him. Additionally asking for inspiration from a saint; while closer to enquiry, is still different. It is not attempting to force through black magic information. it is simply asking for spiritual assistance (by the grace and permission of God) To be "inspired" the same way John the baptist was with the "spirit of Elijah", to help us follow in their footsteps on our journey home to glorify God forever.
I will ask this though, Todd Bentley's wife, years ago, had a dream she saw Oral Roberts in her dream putting his hands over her eyes, and she saw in her dream a kundalini elephant. What are your thoughts?
Genuine question here: How were Elijah and Moses seen reborn (not sure the best word for their state at that time) at the mountan of tranfiguration if Jesus had not gone to the cross yet? If they could be resurrected then, does that not imply that a man like Samuel could also be in heaven before the crucifixion? Assuming that was true, was the method of contacting Samuel the issue, or was it contacting the dead in general?
I believe Jesus told them that it was a vision and that they appeared to him through a vision. Which they couldn't have done if they were in the abode of the damned.
Is there any way to get Protestants to understand Catholics do know the Bible and how rich Catholicism in worship and faith and The Holy Sacramebts care for us and others.Where does the Seven Blessed Sacranents come from? ( I never took any catholic study other than coming into the church).
Winger's inability to form a sound syllogism or make valid inferences is a true wonder. He's the kind of dolt who would see three kleenex in your wastebasket and conclude you must have three noses.
for that matter, there is no precedent for teh Table of Contents in the bible. No Bible passage lists which books and letters are canonical and which are not.
Protestant here. After watching this video I finally have a good understanding of why Catholics would pray to saints (being already perfected and in the presence of the Lord they can essentially pray ‘better’, more according to Gods will) but there’s still the problem of how they hear our prayers, while they are perfected in heaven, I don’t believe there is any evidence to support Christian’s being omnipresent once in heaven. Then there’s the massive leap to making huge idols of Mary and of the saints that’s absolutely crazy to me. I don’t have the verse but I’m pretty certain Jesus said not to make things in His image, so why all the (at best) idol like imagery. I don’t know about all the different versions/denominations of Catholicism and orthodoxy, but I’ve seen some that have huge statues of Mary that four guys carried on their shoulder to a march for life (or something like that) and I don’t know how anyone could look at that and say its ‘just’ honoring Mary This was written while walking in the woods so it may be all over the place and the spelling might be wack but if any of my catholic brothers and sisters have some answers that would be appreciated
Of course you as a Roman Catholic DO NOT understand Hermeneutics and eisegesis those verses which means adding your own words to the Word of God to your own destruction
Just saying we don't understand doesn't mean we don't. You are the one who failed to prove it or exegete any passages. Feel free to try again. We will wait.
I like the question, God would not like someone to disrespect His mother. This is so typical in our society, their are not many people who will be okay if you offended their mother.
Know who else does that? Gavin Ortlund.
He is not interested in the truth at all it seems.
For all those fake pastors it is about money that it
Money and ego.
A famous one is the Memorare, which addresses Mary directly and encourages the petitioner to trust in her:
“Remember, most loving Virgin Mary,
never was it heard
that anyone who turned to you for help
was left unaided. . . .
I run to your protection
for you are my mother.”
The same is true for another traditional Catholic prayer, “Hail, Holy Queen.” This prayer explicitly calls Mary a “most gracious advocate”:
“Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy,
hail, our life, our sweetness, and our hope.
To you we cry, the children of Eve;
to you we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this land of exile.
Turn, then, most gracious advocate,
your eyes of mercy toward us;
lead us home at last”
(from A Book of Prayers, 1982, International Committee on English in the Liturgy, Inc.)
Praying to Mary and the saints in such a way is unbiblical.
Hebrews 4:16 tells us that believers here on earth have direct access to God and can “approach the throne of grace with confidence.”
No saint can take Jesus’ place: “There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5).
Let us examine the claim that praying to Mary and the saints is no different than asking someone here on earth to pray for us:
1) Asking other believers (on earth) to pray for us is certainly biblical (2 Corinthians 1:11; Ephesians 1:16; Philippians 1:19; 2 Timothy 1:3).
We did provide a couple of verses actually. Did you watch the whole video?
@@CatholicTruthOfficial Yes I did, it mentions Rev 8:3 and Rev 5:8 but those are prayers from the saints (a saint being a follower of Christ here on earth) The fact that you teach people to pray to loved ones to intercede for them sounds more like emotionalism than Biblical. I don't pray to my dad or aunt or grandma who died in Christ. Suppose they could hear my affliction here on earth, how could they enjoy their new life in heaven? Jesus Himself instructed us to pray directly to the Father (Matthew 6:9) and the only "spiritual person" that can intercede for us is the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26-27_
More on Matthew 6 (Jesus words)
"But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.
@@kaboom9081wish he would respond to this. Very well stated
Protestants aren't actually concerned with the truth, they are concerned with "their truth."
Catholics, on the other hand, see the Holy Spirit, via the magesterium, as the infallible interpreter.
We call out Saints who have died in Christ and therefore live
It's so easy.
@@romandaigle455 you miss the entire point of "dying with Christ". You are reading ancient text with a modern concept.

If both of the things we stated are true, then personal interpretation is still less dangerous than a fallible authority being called infallible despite the outcomes you listed.
@@Nick_Lamb "personal interpretation is still less dangerous "
No Nick. This is just your opinion. Catholic "interpretation" is rooted in the faith that has been passed down for 2000 years from which scripture comes. There are self-interpretation guardrails (you can interpret scripture on your own, you just can't go over the guardrails).
When say, you, fallibly believe that you can interpret scripture in contradiction of that faith, its NOT the Catholic interpretation that is in error, it is yours. The Church - the PIllar of Truth - Where the Manifold Wisdom of God is made known - that Jesus PROMISED to lead to ALL TRUTH:
- decided 1600 years ago which writings belong on the table of contents
- coped the text through the centuries

There is no contradiction between the Catholic faith and scripture as one comes from the other.
God is God of living and not of the dead. Once I started praying the Rosary everyday my anxiety has just melted away.
What ultimately what got me over my objections from Marian intersession was seeing the role of the queen mother in ancient Israel.

Dear catholics/catholic,
Please read this with a open mind and explain to yourselves/yourself why Mary said that God is her God and LORD and Savior, and NOT herself?

[2] I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

[5] thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
[6] and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Luke 1:46-55 KJV
[46] And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
[47] And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
It's necromancy to try to talk to Mary. Catholicism is a cult
I have a question. If all the souls were dead before Jesus death, and only after his resurrection they were brought to life, then how was it possible for Jesus to meet with Moses and Elijah during the transfiguration when at the time they should have been dead?
Good question, just commenting to see if there will be any replies.
1 Peter 3
For Christ also died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit; 19 in which he went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20 who formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were saved through water.
John 11:25 Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Elijah and the rest believes in the Messiah, though they are dead physically, their souls are alive and were carried by angels into a place like limbo or Abraham’s bossom luke 16:22 They are all alive and just waiting to enter heaven. So It is possible for Jesus to meet Moses and Elijah in the transfiguration because He is God. He’ll just call them and they will appear. For Nothing is impossible with God luke1:37 Is anything too hard for the Lord? Gen18:14..

Make Jesus your Lord and Savior and you will be saved.
Technically, if we are reading Scripture at all and believing it we are all saints, so, there is no one is holier than thou except Christ Jesus.

King David for example.👍

You will also not find a single passage that claims Mary as queen of heaven.

[19] So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God."
From our Catholic understanding this:
According to ancient tradition and the sacred liturgy, the main principle on which the royal dignity of Mary rests is without doubt her divine motherhood.

In one of John's letters, he actually says to challenge spirits in chapter four.

do not trust every spirit,

to see whether they are from God.

Great point
Just wondering...Do you pray to Mary and why?
Pray to Mary and the Saints in a thankful and grateful manner all you want. But I worship Jesus, Father God and the Holy Spirit and dont ever consider praying to Mary and the Saint's. They were humans that were given gifts from God, which we are thankful for. But not to be worshipped.
You ask your friends and family and pastors to pray for you when they are also humans. Same thing. We all still worship God. Not any man.
Phillipians 1:21❤
We are all connected as ONE BODY, like a plumbing system.
1 Timothy 2:5-6
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
True. Thank you.
Mary is dead in the grave awaiting the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
No, she's not.

No one agreed with Mike Winger throughout the first fifteen centuries of Christianity.
It made me understand these twin doctrines better.
i just looked it up , its in Church History book VI chapter 5. Thanks for sharing , very interesting.
*Eusebius, Church History, Book VI, Chapter 5*
I used to listen to Mike Winger all the time and he is obnoxious.
Praying to someone is not in and of itself worshipping them. It is a form of communication of a spiritual kind.
No scriptures say that we should pray to the dead. Only pray to GOD
So, we can now summon the dead? Will they speak to us?
Who said that? Nobody is summoning anyone. This is a strawman argument.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial - speaking with the dead. ??
@@CatholicTruthOfficial - how are you not? If you're speaking to them?
This guy believes his wife’s prayers are better than Mary’s 🤣 Mary is not dead. These people misinterpret scripture so bad it’s just sad. Nobody is dead after this life. We live forever it just depends where we go.
Hail Mary full of grace Blessed art thou among women.. Luke..
There’s a reason why that guy doesn’t allow Catholics to speak on his channel. He knows he’s wrong. #MikeWinger #Christian

Awesome and hard-hitting explanation. God bless you 🙏 and thank you for the amazing video 📹 😊
I used to watch a lot of Mike winger when I was a new Christian but now that I've grown a lot, looking back. He makes a lot of really poor arguments

Exactly.
I agree with alex123 "at least Mike was respectful and loving towards catholics" i don't find that in most of the comments towards Mike, not even in the debunking! That is a lost opportunity and weakens the argument.

What are the prayers of the saints in Revelation 5:8 and Revelation 8:3-4???
We are the Saints, they are bringing our prayers before God
@CatholicTruthOfficial what prayers are those??? Just every day prayers???
Luke 16 also prives the intercession of saints.
Mary is set apart and wholly unique. She is the daughter of the Father, the mother of the Word Incarnate and spouse of the Holy Spirit. She will always lead you to Christ!
When I read the Bible and see there's no purgatory ( Second chance ) I left the Catholic Church.
Purgatory not a second chance You must have flunked catechism
"When I read the Bible and see there's no purgatory"
You missed it. Purgatory is implicit not explicit in scripture, one example below
_For no other foundation can any one lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire_ (1 Cor)
Recap
- the passage is speaking of a spiritual reality after death
- one in hell can not be saved
- one in heaven can not suffer loss
- it is speaking of another state of being, purgatory
- where one IS saved but only as as through fire (the soul being cleansed of all desire to sin)
Revelation (21 27) says that "nothing unclean" shall enter heaven. We shall become 100% righteous, yet when we die our souls are still stained by sin, and the inclination to sin. There is thus a process between death and heaven where we are made clean. Catholics have a word for it. Protestants, the vast majority, never think of the topic.
"I left the Catholic Church."
You left Jesus on the altar, receiving his resurrected body and blood, a means for receiving his grace, as ALL CHRISTIANS did for over 1500 years.
Here are a few books I recommend
Jesus and the Jewish roots of Mary
Jesus and the Jewish roots of the Eucharist
Another author is the former Protestant minister Dr Scott Hahn.
Rome Sweet Home
Hail Holy Queen
And others.
Agreed. Tons of biblical references!

Its actually very telling how often you reference reading something that isnt scripture. Truly a religon of middle men. 😂😂😂. Godbless you, and i hope you read the bible for yourself. Dont let someone in Rome come between you and our Father in Heaven.
I used to enjoy Mike's videos until he began to get all nasty about purgatory. I was like dude, wtf!

5. The hadith that discourages use of cross as it may contribute to idol worship was introduced by Allah in Sahih a hi l-Bukhari 5952, Book 77, Hadith 168
Can you please email us? Thanks. Bryan@catholictruth.org

Can you kindly put those verses of Bible that support praying Mary or saints. Kindly use King James Bible.
Sleep is just a synonym for earthly death. But we know that anyone who "does in Christ" doesn't die but lives forever and will be raised by him.
Only the bodies of dead people are dead or asleep but their souls/spirits cannot be asleep but are always awake or alive.
Curious, will God wipe alway all tears in Heaven or has he already done so?
(I mean has God already wiped away the tears from those who are in Heaven or will he wipe them away later? I am referencing Revelations 7 and 21)
@@jasonrichards3785 Jason, how have you been my friend?

Revelations 5:8 (the four living creatures and 24 elders present bowls of incense which are the prayers of the saints.)
Thank you so much for taking time to reply to my comment.
I sincerely hope you have a blessed weekend.
God bless you Brother
@@markwilson1724 Jesus honored His mother and Father and father perfectly. Is that the only payer you say? Or do you pray for others? Do you request others to pray for other or yourself? Not sure what point you are making.
@@William2015-q4h Jesus greatest honour was always to do His Heavenly Fathers will.
The greatest prayer in the Bible taught by Jesus is the Lord's prayer.
"Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be thy name" to be held in reverence & Holy awe ❤️
Prayer is an act of spiritual expression that brings us into the conformity to the very nature and purpose of God.
He is not the God of the dead [the damned], but of the living.”
Luke 20:34-38 - “And Jesus said to them: The children of this world marry and are given in marriage: But they that shall be accounted worthy of that world and of the resurrection from the dead shall neither be married nor take wives.
Also at least one Pope ordered copies of the Talmud to be burned. So it must've been horribly heretical

It's interesting that Mike is good friends with Sam Sahoun..
Sam isn't Catholic but he defends Catholicism because he discovered it's the true doctrine of Christianity.

I challenge any one of you to show one example of a person who is still in the world in prayer to someone in heaven other than God. One example of Jesus, any old testament profit or new testament apostle teaching that we who are still in the world should pray to anyone other than God in heaven.
Revelation 5:8 And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints
If the prayers went directly to God then how did the 24 elders get the golden bowls full of our prayers.
I would argue they got them because Hebrews 12 tells us
22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, 23 and to the assembly of the first-born who are enrolled in heaven, and to a judge who is God of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks more graciously than the blood of Abel.
God Bless
I challenge you to show me the verse where everything is found in Scripture. Also, where does the Bible say Paul wrote Hebrews or that Hebrews is even inspired Scripture?
@@CatholicTruthOfficial really? That's your response? Iv been doing this far too long to fall for your attempt to derail me. You guys claim to be a ministry and this is how you give a answer? You answer my question with a question and not a answer?? That a terrible way to give answers to people who are challenging your teaching. If you truly knew the RCC then you would know that the RCC makes the claim that all it's teaching can be found in scripture in one form or another. If you don't realize this then perhaps you should not be speaking on behalf of Rome. So by your response I will concluded that you can not biblically give a answer to what you believe.

*_If you truly knew the RCC then you would know that the RCC makes the claim that all it's teaching can be found in scripture in one form or another._*
In the Second Vatican Council’s document on divine revelation, Dei Verbum (Latin: “The Word of God”), the relationship between Tradition and Scripture is explained: “Hence there exists a close connection and communication between sacred Tradition and sacred Scripture.
Therefore both sacred Tradition and sacred Scripture are to be accepted and venerated with the same devotion and reverence.”
Hope that helps put a little light on the subject.
Thanks,
God Bless
Pray for Mike, he seems well intended, just very misguided.

The scriptures say Jesus was subject to Mary and Joseph. Also, many Protestants don't understand that we don't have to keep the Sabbath but keep the Lord's Day instead because we are not bound under the old law!
Jesus was honoring his parents in his earthy life as was the law. But when a prince becomes a king is the queen mother not now subject to the king?
@@ninjason57 well sure she is but she still has great influence. Maybe it pleases Our Lord when we call upon His Mother and His friends in Heaven. You're seeing it as a competition when it's really a cooperation.
Prayer is an intimate way to commune with our God. When you kneel and utter the word Mary, as an intercessor to God, you diminish the direct relationship God wants with you.
@@ninjason57 because you don't understand that it pleases Our Lord when He shares His mission with His family and friends. You're seeing it as a competition instead of a participation. You can trust the Church which Jesus founded on His apostles!

Catechumen here. Thankyou for this video.
I recently read St Louis de Montfort.
I know this isn't official dogma of the church, I did find it good overall but there were parts where he said things like "all grace from God is dispensed via Mary" and that "God cannot refuse Mary"
On the surface I feel like this goes overboard.
Thankyou for this video._*
Sending out prayers for you on you journey to the Church.
*_I know this isn't official dogma of the church, I did find it good overall but there were parts where he said things like "all grace from God is dispensed via Mary"_*
From my understanding of this statement the underlying meaning is that all graces come from Christ and seeing that Christ came into the world through the Virgin Mary it is a logical conclusion that grace was dispensed through her.
*_that "God cannot refuse Mary"_*
The theology for this comes from Mary being the Mother of the King.
*_Sending prayers is a one way communication, its not trying to force information from the dead._*
Amen to that.
God Bless
So prayer is a "one way communication"? Really? Is that what the RCC teaches?
@@Matt-1926 If Mary brings the grace of God, then where does that leave the HS in our life? Again, If Mary brings our request to God because we don't know how to pray, then where does that leave the HS? Maybe Catholics don't read or accept Rm.8:26,27 concerning the role of the HS?
@@Jerome-72
The HS is the Spouse of Mary...He works in us and He too can work through Mary... it's not through the lens of an _Either/Or_ but rather through a _Both/And_ lens that Catholics view the role of Mary in God's plan of salvation.
And yes, communication is sent one way to the saints.
Something like Fatima where a Saint reached out and gave us information is different... Because God chose to send that information by a messenger; it wasn't forced by the children through a necromantic ritual (or even requested!).
Additionally asking for inspiration from a saint; while closer to enquiry, is still different. It is not attempting to force through black magic information.
it is simply asking for spiritual assistance (by the grace and permission of God)
To be "inspired" the same way John the baptist was with the "spirit of Elijah", to help us follow in their footsteps on our journey home to glorify God forever.
Just curious, do catholics believe the bible permits us to worship angels?

I don’t know about all the different versions/denominations of Catholicism and orthodoxy, but I’ve seen some that have huge statues of Mary that four guys carried on their shoulder to a march for life (or something like that) and I don’t know how anyone could look at that and say its ‘just’ honoring Mary
This was written while walking in the woods so it may be all over the place and the spelling might be wack but if any of my catholic brothers and sisters have some answers that would be appreciated
"but there’s still the problem of how they hear our prayers"
The HOW: All through the power of God.
