#digitech The Digitech GSP1101. A great 1 pace rack unit with Lexicon Reverb and excellent effects. Gear: Harley Benton Fusion 2 Digitech GSP1101 Canon EOS M50
I still have mine, has C63 custom firmware and still kicking ass. The only thing I haven't managed is getting the software to work in Win10. Great vid, so glad to see this unit is not forgotten.

I've downloaded some amp models from the Digitech HP. If you contact me in FB, I can share them with you, if you can't find these. The IRs are not there, as far as I remember, but the BestIRinTheWorld.wav is always a good starting point. And I personally recomend the OH Heavy hitters.
So with this new firmware update and IR capabilities and IR pack, are these sounds ALSO obtainable output into a tube poweramp, then to a real guitar cab?
Rob McEwen, if you turn off the cab sim, you could play it through a conventional poweramp+guitar cab.AFAIK, Megadeth used this with a Marshall poweramp + marshall cabs around 2010.
@@DanielKraemerMusic ok - ignoring IR for the rest of this comment - so then the updated firmware/software still gets these improvements sounds? ...that are better than the original stock sounds/amps? Correct?
You can get great results with this and a 4x12. I'd recommend to set it up in stereo and use the TC chorus and ping-pong delay...Of course it has to be tweaked differently from my settings, which are for direct recording. But the unit is very flexible. That said, if you want a little bit more flexibility or a more complex setup (e.g. direct out for IN Ear, another direct out for FoH and poweramp with 4x12), I'd recommend the AxeFx. Even with the AxeFx Mark1 (Standard or Ultra) I did that and got great results.
Thanks again, I forgot to mention that I was thinking of using it with the tc g force, I only wanted the preamps and pedals of the gsp1101 but if its effects are as good as those of the g force, then I think there would be no point in using the g force.
🤓I use 2 Marshall DSL 100w amp heads ( effects return ) & 4....1960 300 w stacks, pedals, rack gear & variacs. I believe it will be way better than using computer crap. Like Dave Mustaine in 2010 used them live with stereo Marshall power amps el34 / el34 & miked up his speaker cabs......old school.....the best way. Like everything....u have to tweek & trick it out to perfection. It takes me months to clean up all the stiff unwanted cruddy tones / sounds ( erase them all & re-adjust values ) use the best sounding patches & the rest i call them ghost ( no sound / readjusted values ) & dummy (has some volume, some unity & again readjusted values ) patches ( helps load down the sound / feel in a great way ) On my other other rack units 1, 21, 26, 36, 41, 66, 89, 91, 95......sometimes 11 & 61......sag, compress, overdrive & chime the best.....I do other tricks with long cable runs power, patch / guitar / spkr cables.....I have 9 stomp boxes that are always on (true bypass buffers / effects & tools ) old tricks of the trade &self discoveries. .....etc....❤GOD❤bless & rock on🎸
Micheal Amott still using them live with Arch Enemy. He runs his through a Marshall amps fx return. Using the power amp section. They still sound great and way ahead of their time especially with the beta software upgrade.
I'd say the GSP 1101. Although they are pretty close soundwise, I'd consider the GSP 1101 a little bit better in each other category (flexibility, effects quality, versatility,, UX). That said, they can't compete with modern (even cheaper) units like the Mooers, NUX or Valeton GP200.

Something I noticed you didn't mention, it also has a pretty powerful global EQ so the parametric EQ is moreso a supplemental per-patch togglable effect.
Yes, usually I use global EQs to adjust the overall sound to the environment (e.g. different FoHs, floor wedges). So I didn't use it in this video. But that said, the unit itself can sound really good, even with the global EQ all flat... ;-)

Great unit and well ahead of it’s time. I have many more expensive pieces of gear but this is what rear budget choice and is still relevant
I have a twin tubes rn very good
how long is the gsp1101's ir length?I found it only 128samples,which is what ,2ms?
The Digitech GSP1101 is still the best! Albiet crazy heavy to be carrying around with the Contorl 2 foot controller.
True, but it also works pretty good with a smaller midi controller (i like to use the midi commander ;))
Nice gear!!
Could you help me finding X-Edit and GSP1101 USB drivers to download? Thank you!

Good video, dig the tone. Are there amp IRs available somewhere? I notice amps in your list that I do not have, I'm using the c63. Thanks! \m/

@@robmcewen4621 I dialed in these sounds by myself, so they didn't come with the FW, but they work fine with my real poweramp/cab.
Daniel, how are you getting that amazing stereo sound? Does the digitech produce a stereo output?
Sure, it has a stereo output. And the stereo effects are great in this unit.....mainly I'm using the TC Chorus and a Ping pong delay.😁
Hi great review,l have two 1960 marshall cabs and mosvalve mv962(80w per side) do you believe gsp1101 will sound as good as your review but live?

What firmware update allows the gsp1101 to import IRs?
Firmware vc63. It's a a non official Beta-Software (mustbeta.com).
What IR are you using. Probably the best video showcasing what this unit can do with modern IRs. Can still hang with a lot of the modern amp/cab sims.
Thanks for your comment, niles lewis! I'm using an Ownhammer Mesa V30 cab. The package is called "heavy hitters", I guess.
@@DanielKraemerMusic Hi there, do you know if those IRs you're using are 16 bit or 24 bit? Thanks!
@@EduSymmetry As far as I remember, 16bit...
@@DanielKraemerMusic one more question... Do you know where can I get 16 bit IRs? I only find 24 bit for sale/download... 😤 Thanks again!
@@EduSymmetry Maybe I was wrong with the 16bit...I bought the Ownhammer Heavy hitters, and they worked with the GSP1101.
Go to 'view', theres more settings you can view on your screen.
You think 1101 is better or prophesy 1?
