I was super hyped when we drafted Quinn Hughes. He was top 4 for me, I would've been ecstatic with him, Dahlin, Svechnikov or Tkachuk. We've never had that elite defenseman before ever. And huggy is elite.
People underrate him so much when in reality his career got massively derailed by Ralph Krueger. Definitely would still take him over Quinn Hughes as great as he has been.
U gotta put bonified #1 dman over svech.. when you look long term.. its so hard to get #1 dman.. like look at the teams.. can you even say if theres 5-6 other #1 dman in the league that is better and more productive than Quinn?.. whats worse is Svech is a winger.. easier to find and draft.. and theres many more players in the league better than svech..
Lets be honest, most of these guys past the top 4 are pretty interchangeable. I could see any of them being swapped around but I do believe 5 is the perfect spot for Dobson at this stage of his career.
