Enjoyed your reaction to Red Rain! Yes, Peter Gabriel is still out there rocking it. Did I mention that I saw Peter Gabriel perform this live last night in Austin?? Well, in case I did forget to mention it, I saw him perform this live last night!! Red Rain is amazing live!!! And a fantastic 3 hour show!!!
Great reaction to this phenomenal performance!!! So many amazing songs from this live concert!! His bass player is legendary bassist Tony Levin, and the singer is Peter's daughter Melanie. If you want to see a live performance like you've never seen before, check out "Downside Up"!!!!
Personnel Peter Gabriel - lead vocals, keyboards. Richard Evans - guitars, mandolin, whistles, backing vocals. Melanie Gabriel - lead and backing vocals. Tony Levin - bass, electric upright bass, backing vocals. Ged Lynch - drums, percussions. David Rhodes - guitars, backing vocals. Rachel Z - keyboards, backing vocals.
Yes, Mélanie She was absolutely not used to the scene, and her father sent her to the front... I remember, during the warm-up of Growing up tour, in 2002 in Paris... ;-)
You are getting a nice cross-section of Genesis, Gabriel, and Collins's work. SO much to dive into, but you have your whole life to explore it. I know you must know 'In The Air Tonight', but if you have not seen Phil's 2004 Paris LIVE performance of it, you have not heard this song. Such a great tune, but this is a performance for the ages. Everybody has reviewed it but it never gets old!
Thank you😊♥I like what you said about the meaning, and I'm glad to hear what Peter said about it, since I've never been sure what it was about...for me (since I was a teenager) it's been a comfort song at times when I've felt overwhelmed, so that meaning makes sense to me. That's the great Tony Levin on bass...he's worked with Peter since 1977, and with King Crimson between 1981-2021 (among many others).
I LOVED this song! Peter Gabriel is special! So is his surrrounding cast. I can't wait to dive in and hear more. This one here was a very very good one to tune in to

He's such a great artist. Would love to see him live. Amazing.
Going to see him live this fall! ☮️❤️
Me too ....... LA in October!! Can't wait!
Pete is a GIANT in the industry. From prog to early music video...one of a kind!
If I'm not mistaken, the female singer is his daughter

amazing talent!
This, the Growing Up tour, is by far my favorite by Peter and friends. A very dynamic performance.
Great song. Great album.
I only know the official video of this song, which is one of the best ever made. Give it a look.
I had the luck to see several of his growing up gigs… always fantastic

Gotta say, I prefer the studio version - man, that really lifts my roof…
Keep going down that rabbit hole - it's full of gold.

@@ShawnSalvadori Glad you enjoyed it!😊
Dont know if you like piano and sax but Allen Parsons "Old and Wise" song is pretty cool.
The bass really makes this song, it's too low on this
