I agree. I watched TV in the very little down time I had. If I wanted to hear family members bitching at each other I could of left the TV off & listened to my own 'reality show" minus the amazing talent of building custom choppers!!😂
i worked the GSK booth at NASCAR in the mid 2000's and the OCC crew showed up to pimp their show at one of the races. sr and jr did their time and split, but vinnie and mikey hung out and signed merch and took pics with their fans. those 2 had a down to earth class. sr and jr had a lot of attitude and testosterone, IMHO.
Used to love watching the show been to the OCC in NY when we were driving Big truck and passing threw Sr. Was there and very accommodating so we could park. Wish all of them the best!
OCC tried to grow too fast and invested too much money moving a few times into larger shops and buying more advanced manufacturing equipment. Bike builders fell in hard times after the 2008-2009 market crash. Clients stopped ordering custom bike builds. Paul Sr. mistake was he borrowed too much money expanding his business thinking the chopper craze would continue for many years into a bad economy. Custom choppers were just a passing fade. Currently the whole motorcycle market is in a decline because of inflation and people living paycheck to paycheck.
The teens of the 60s were impressed with the biker movies. Then in the 90s they had free time and money to blow. So, every old guy wanted a chopper. Ok I did that. Now back to the country club. I'm seeing a lot of HDs on the highway.
I was on vacation and met a guy who was a teacher in NJ. His "brush with greatness" was that he taught "Snooki" from Jersey Shore as well as Paul Jr and Mikey. His observation was that Jr was nowhere as smart as he'd like you to believe, and Mikey was a lot smarter than he portrayed himself.
Thank you for this video! I always wondered what happened to the cast. Loved and watched the show religiously for its creative side. What a pitty to have all this creativity and gift dissipate. Keep up the good work FV! I'm a huge fan of your channel!
Just met Paul Jr and his wife this year. Got to se some of his bikes up close. They are even better in person. They are super nice people and I highly reccommend visiting his shops in NY and NJ.
I loved the show in the beginning because you were learning what went into building custom bikes. Unfortunately, the family drama took over and that was it for me. Too bad. There were a lot of talented people and I am sure many learned some valuable information..
For all the cool designs and innovations for the bikes a couple things were pretty disappointing to see happen. Once I observed one of the guys use a chop saw to cut a rear axle spacer! Should have used a lathe for precise length accuracy! Another time one of the guys was drilling hole in a fender for a sissy bar and drilled right through into the new tire! What no piece of wood or aluminum as a stop to protect the tire? They could have at least edited this out of the show before airing it. That plus the 'drama' was enough for me. Having said this, they did make some really cool looking machines though...
They built a bike for Jay Leno and he got stranded because the bike's wiring caused the bike to die when a tail light went out. Another funny story for Jay.
One of my greatest concerns on the road is the total failing of a bike while riding in the center lane of a highspeed heavily traveled highway. No power, no lights and no way to warn anyone of the dilemma.
@@FactsVerse Liked both sons till Jr. Jumped the shark. I’d say Michael had the most appeal yet was under utilized. Considering how the show unraveled it’s a tough call. You?
I watched this show from 2000 until the end. I loved seeing motorcycles created and fabricated from scratch. It was one of my favorite shows even with the feuding of Sr. and Jr. I was disappointed when the show split and Jr went on to start his own shop.
I watched several seasons of the show. Senior drove me up the wall. His temper tantrums were childish. His design ideas were limited. His technical abilities nothing without everyone else doing the work. I'm glad Junior, Mikey and Vinny are doing well. Junior and Vinny were the real talent. And both are flexible and forward thinking. Senior could learn a thing or two if he wasn't a massive ego on legs! I think Junior was sick of Senior sh1te and that's why he was so disrespectful.
So many innocent people get left holding the bag and either have to pay out the azz or every time you see somebody you gotta explain yourself. Like Codey, dude's a kid when he 1st shows up
loved the show when it first came out. when they moved into the new building i lost all interest. in my eyes they got too big for their britches and stopped making bikes and emphasized drama. you can see where that got them.
Weren't most of the bikes unrideable, or you didn't want to ride one longer than it took to ride to a mini mart corner store? Basically, it was an hour long ad for a sponsor. How many times do you power coat over threads before you learn, or have, need a west coast to east overnight $$$ shipping charge to get parts because you can't manage a project? To add to the bill. One of the worst bikes it was said to ride was the Easy Ride Captain America bike in the movie Easy Rider. Front wheel flop, needed 6 lanes of road to make a U turn, uncomfortable riding position. It's like they studied that bike and used it for a blueprint for the bikes they built? I don't know. You tell me, what kind of bikes does a reality TV bike show build? It ain't rideable motorcycles.
I started watching Orange County Choppers online, seeing older videos to catch up to current videos. I like everyone involved with the show, except Cody. IMO he came off as too arrogant for his own good. That’s all I have to say about that.
Looks like clear case of the owner not repecting and taking care of the people that make your company. What happen is the worker wants to manage and they run it in to the ground.
While the bikes they built were works of art, were they really street legal? Because there's no way I'd swing my leg across any of them to ride on the road!
Senior was my favorite. Yes, he was a bit of a control freak but we all loved him and still do. Really loved the whole cast and crew but Sr. is my favorite.
I love Choppers ! I have a Harley Davidson and a Suzuki racing bike. Where are you have to swallow lie down take care of the steering of the handlebars can go very fast hour almost 200 miles an hour.
I was mystified why people assumed the bikes these guys allegedly made were indeed made by them, why your at it,I have swampland in Florida you might be interested in!Talk about guillble!

It was basically a show about an extremely dysfunctional family that built comic book motorcycles. I've met Rick and he's a straight up talented guy.
Interesting, thank you so much for sharing your life story. What other types of video would you like to see?
@@FactsVerse Yee honestly Rick and Vince were the real ones
The show became unwatchable as the focus became a father/son power battle.

We're happy to know that you're a fan of the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
Rick Petco was an artist when making a tank from pieces of sheet metal into an absurd shape.
The show was a study of misfits and psychotics. Glad it has disappeared into history.

Pauley, Jr. was my favorite cast member. He didn't care about making money. As an artist, he only wanted to design bikes. 🏍

"There's something mesmerizing about watching an expert build a complex machine."
What does that have to do with "American Choppers?"
