James have wrote the soundtrack to my life, and while the movie is a bit shit the backing tracks have been awesome.
oh my god..I feel the exact same way as you! It is sort of eerie how my live and their music fit so well together.
James have actually saved my sanity. I don't know what I would be doing without them. They instilled positivity when I had none. They taught me to dance again...ultimately gave me hope and home. Xx
This band is amazing. Three weeks ago I never heard of them. Now I listen to everything I can find. Totally underrated.

2 weeks ago I've seen them live in Athens for the first time in my life, it was the most amazing experience, real magical thing!!! And I was lucky to talk with Tim personally after the gig, it was like a dream, he is very charming man, he was very kind to me, I was over the moon from happiness!
After 20 years being a fan I finally met my hero:-)
And the rest of the band were so kind and friendly, especially David (drummer) and Andy (trumpet player), i've been talking with them too and they are such a nice people and real professionals in their work/art.
Lena Smirnova Sounds great! I saw them in NYC last month and talked with the band at VIP time before the concert, just a dozen of us and the band - great intimate time, these are just typical guys but with a great talent. And when you see them live the first time, it's so different, a new experience. Transcendent!

Wow. I don't think there is a finer bunch of musicians around today, every one of them is a master. Particular credit to Andy who adds so much tone and texture with the trumpet, not just on this but on everything they do.

If any other singer tried this it wouldn't fit - Mr Booth has a vocal range that is packed with honesty of emotion & pathos. When he sings a word like "liars" it's loud and accusatory. At the end his voice is almost pleading.
Tim is something else.
Only found him and #james a year ago, catching up on all their early stuff. He's a real genius at poetry, and a very unique guy. Hope to see them live in Nov in UK.

kaydickinson Well I saw them live in a very small venue, right in New York City about 30 minutes from me - my great luck they made one stop in NYC and I grabbed up the tickets and hopped the train over, hours early lol. I got a VIP pass and sat in during their sound check, Q&A, etc. Talked to Tim and Saul, but amazing thing happened: I got starstruck lol Tim was talking to me (I was smack in front) and missed some of what he said. Saul asked where I was from, I said New Joisey and he made a joke about that, which damn it I couldn't get because his accent is so thick - Tim said "Don't worry he was born pornographic" lol it was a great night, a few others things happened - I think I mentioned about the mysterious chair on Ghost Walking. Yes, I've slowly been checking out the early things and see such growth in their sound. ♪
Excellent! Many people get starstruck by Tim, he sort of hypnotizes you! And Saul probably made a filthy comment :-) I remember Andy tweeting about the venue - wasn't it some sort of famous meeting hall that hosted some protest meetings back in the 1930s? Give me a shout if you're after anything you can't find - and check out Andy's Spaceheads band too!

You don't get 19 year olds writing like this. You shouldn't, but the focus is still on them while legends like this show us how it's done.

these lyrics are self-introspective - regarding the judgement of others based upon a conclusion you've made (right or wrong). digging yourself a hole through self deciet and self-righteousness. looking back at what you've done and realizing it, interrogating yourself. hypocrisy in anger and blame. this realization and ensuing self doubt/outrage/disappointment in yourself is the catalyst behind the delivery of the song. learning, bettering, moving forward.
