Experience cannot be under estimated! So much operational experience, in different theatres of war. 4000 plus parachute jumps. Pathfinder / FAC. Look listen and learn, it could save your life. Always objective and balanced in comments. Well done both of you. Thank you!
100% agree with all his load-outs for the specific missions he described. But if you are infantry in the military today, effectively you will be told what you are going to carry. If you are SOF you will have a little more leeway depending on infil/exfil and some other considerations of the mission. If you are joe blow at home and preparing for wrol/shtf mostly none of it applies. Except, like a recon patrol - you are on your own, nobody is coming for you. At which, if you really want to survive and are being forced from your castle from "they, them, those" then: you better move in time; have caches stored; have fallback positions prepared; etc. So if it is wrol/shtf, stay at your castle and fight off the demons. Ideally you have some neighbors/friends to help. Wrol/shtf enemies, at first will be the same pathetic putzes as we saw a few years ago, paid for by the same putzes as a few years ago. The difference, hopefully, is that The Good People, not LE (they can not be counted on) do what is necessary this time to solve the problem. Out
2:10 - 2:43 There you have it. The enormous amount of people I've seen online and read online, who push this total fallacy of having 4 mags or less, or some other variation of this total crap, blows my mind. I even direct them to look at the documented sources from the Vietnam war (MACV-SOG), and SAS patrols etc. And all of those sources when they're out in the field, doing LRRP, they carry approx 400rds+ per man today for the EXACT reason Tom just said. And they do this because blokes before them learned this the hard way and some of them made the ultimate sacrifice as a result. 🙏🏻 Chances are, anyone telling you other than what you heard Tom just say, are either: 1 - not experienced at all - big money flat rangers and 99% of the guntubers are talking total bollocks. 2 - and/or they're trying to SELL you an idea/product so you stick around and make them more money. People are too easily fooled. Someone once tried telling me back in 2013 to lay off of my strength specific training with MMA and that technique conquers all in grappling (BJJ, wrestling). He had a point, but only to a certain degree until I pointed out the fact that every professional wrestler and BJJ black belt that competes at elite level is absolutely jacked and they definitely don't skip their strength specific training at all. Some people just need to keep their mouths closed, humble themselves, and listen with the attitude to learn for a change. If you haven't done it, you have no business trying to educate people on it. 😑 Sorry for the rant lol. Awesome video as always EM 🔥. ATB 🏴

@jinksomiabodyart3189 These margins are so narrow and very specific to where you would not expect someone to be shooting back, let alone just one adversary shooting back. So broadly speaking i.e. in the vast majority of scenarios, the better advice is to take more ammunition.
Now I'm wondering what Toms thoughts are for weirdos like me who've gone to a belt kit AND chest rig with a small to medium size pack for some sustainment 😆
@PreparedPathfinder wearing any of it becomes a pain over a long enough period of time. The chest rig isn't that bad and neither is the belt (which runs on a H harness so it spreads the weight too). I kinda base them off of the principles of "what do I need" (belt), "what do I need RIGHT NOW" (chest rig) and "what will I likely need in a very bad situation" (be it range, weather etc: pack). I'm not a marathon runner, never have been and never will be. But short sprints that defy my leg length and slower than jog paces carrying lots of weight like rucking are two things I am good at. Glad to see how far the channel has come from

Good stuff. I've been a chest rig guy for a while, but recently started putting together a belt kit for the reasons stated in the video.

Each to their own! Depends on your SOPs and tasks etc. But wearing all that long term may be a pain in the arse!

Really? I’d say it’s less about ‘modern war’ and more about the situation, task and SOPs. So how many mags do you carry then, and what is your role?
