You asked if the rappers rap over the actual rap on track. No they don't, they only have their owm doubling for the end of verses on the track. Other members also often add to the doubling.
yes the member its own added many adlibs because they alwatys try it when they rehearse. hope jacob see this
Yes, they often have a back track playing. Sometimes a bit louder in some parts when they do heavy dancing (just so they can breathe during their crazy performances. Remember, their concerts are like 3 hours long and a lot of their songs contain heavy dancing, so I think it's a tool they use continueously, but with variation. Plus when a member is ill they sometimes turn in up on that person), but they pretty much always sing live.
It’s the other members layering their vocals when you commented about the rap.

For RM rapping in that part, I believe it was actually the other rappers adding to it with adlibs. Both to add to the performance, but also it gives RM a chance to breathe when they do that for certain strenuous rap parts. They used that tactic a lot in their live cypher medley. That's not to say they don't use backing tracks at certain spots and sing over it for performances either, especially choreo heavy ones.
Jungkook and Charlie puth did Charlie’s song “you don’t call anymore,” at an award show and his in ears weren’t working but everybody still said he sounded better than Charlie even though it’s his song lol our vocal line is insane... and I don’t know if you’re new to Kpop r something bc you’re making very broad generalizations about the entire genre which don’t think BTS really fits into even what kpop normally is... but BTS has over 150 songs between them all solos, the rap line, the vocal line and the group and every song sounds different... there’s so much to their music and what they do with it and the vocals.. but I feel like you’re assuming it’s all straight pop or like this is kinda house pop... the group started mainly hip hop lol there’s a lot more than it seems like you’re assuming. Maybe check out the vocal line doing “house of cards” or “the truth untold,” or the group doing “your eyes tell” with maybe “mic drop steve aoki remix,” “fake love,” “not today” “ blood sweat and tears,”! Just check some stuff out for sure

Kindly check out their Louder Than Bombs and Magic Shop .. They're also great (most of their songs are 💜) If u focus on instrumental, just choose the studio version of the songs cuz won't hear it loudly in live version.

6:15 was jungkook harmonizing suga rapping. So usually it's the rappers or other members who harmonize or do adlibs with the rap parts. Jungkook (purple mic) is the main vocalist but also sub-rapper so he does a lot of the adlibs and harmonizing. The rappers do a lot of doubling for each other to emphasize parts as well

They often adlib over each other esp the rappers. They do use backing tracks and often times have additional harmonies and such esp when they are going to be doing extensive choreo, but they absolutely sing and rap live and are known for intentionally leaving out a phrase from a verse or changing up the rhythm on a delivery of a phrase just to demonstrate how they are not lip syncing....😅💜. This was amazing live and the bass absolutely hit you in the chest. I think the sound quality here is just the video. Thanks!
The rapline always rap live. The rap harmonies are live as well. Its kinda a thing about them. They always sing live. On heavy dance numbers they may use a backtrack but not at a very high percentage. I've seen them live 3 times. They are amazing live performers.

it's not though. it's a bit of a bizarre comment if we are talking about the kind of notes the vocalists hit tbh. he has good consistency and stamina for example, but his highs are not like jin/jimin and his lows are not like taehyung, and the others can also go as deep/high if not more, so the range is not actually something he is especially brilliant at. compared to the other vocalists in the band i mean. he has other strengths. all of them do.

Jk's range it's one of the best and MOST CONTROLLED so be quiet

@@Marta-rz7iq jungkook is my current favorite vocalist in bts and it’s true he has a pretty wide range but when it comes to range, taehyung and seokjin has him beat in bts (more so taehyung even though i prefer seokjin’s vocals) so the person who replied was right. even if he has hit taehyung’s low notes, it doesn’t mean it’s in his vocal range. also, i don’t think his falsettos and breathy mixes in the songs you cited are the best examples of his capabilities. if he stopped relying on falsetto, then we can judge his actual higher range but for now that title goes to seokjin and then jimin. i do think the breathiness and falsettos are a stylistic choice though. and also wtf has fan edits of jungkook in a lower pitch to do with proving his vocal range lmfao??? idk why you’re so mad, range isn’t even all there is to singing. jungkook is still the best vocalist in bts regardless of his vocal range.
So funny seeing these comments.they complement each other voices.tae has his own range and diff vocal sama as jimin and jin.. They can't even be compared at all.they have their own unique capabilities that cannot be copied. The only thing is that Jk has more stable,stamina and have a great ear for music that alot of them agreed and complimented jk. He can do whatever you want him to do but not to the extent that he is way better than jimin,jin or tae range..you can put him to any ranges and he will do it perfectly on its own way not jimin,jin or tae kind of way of singing.all of them has their great abilities that noone could copy.so stop comparing..the reason y jk is the main vocalist bcoz he has alot more understanding of his own vocal and what the music wants him to sounds like.that is his advantage thats why most of the guide sang by jk for the group.@@dabee5062
You should watch their performance of 'Make it Right' on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert'. You'll be able to hear more of the instruments, as well as their amazing voices and harmonies. It's one of my favorite performances from BTS! 💜

The rappers don't ever rap over a track. They do the adlibs live.. They're actually known to just stop rapping in the middle of their part and smirk at the camera or audience just to prove they're doing it live cuz they've been accused of lip syncing in the past. The vocalists usually sing over a backing track when they are performing choreography because it is almost impossible to not have some vocal irregularities when they're moving their diaphragms like they do when dancing.
This was at Rose Bowl btw in Cali.
I recommend So What live, Dionysus and Not Today live (they performed those 2 as a set as their opening tracks for their speak yourself tour), MMA 2018, MAMA 2018 in Hong Kong, MAMA 2019, and the one I'd recommend above all else, their MMA 2019 performance. The MAMAs and MMAs are the 2 main end of the year music award shows in Asia, and BTS always put on spectacular performances for them. Their 2018 MMA performance was 20 minutes long, and their 2019 MMA was almost 40 minutes. Best performances I've ever witnessed.
that was Suga and JHope in the background when RM was rapping his part while Jungkook was harmonizing when Suga was rapping. BTS is the best! there's nothing like BTS!

As other comments have mentioned, in that part where you thought the rapper (RM) was rapping over a track, it was actually the other members doubling him. Also I hope you react to more live performances, including those with choregraphy (so you can see how insane they are lmaoooo)

3:56 there’s not any rap backtrack here... Rm is rapping, suga who is off to the side is hitting certain words at the same time as RM is and the guy that was walking behind RM right here pointing at the camera was jungkook and he is also doing ad libs but he’s a vocalist well he can rap too and for the most part he does a lot of the ad libs... they do sometimes have backtrack vocals on dance songs.... but usually something like this where they aren’t going full out with choreo they wouldn’t have that track and bc theres 7 of them there’s always other people ad libbing which there’s technically speaking 3 rappers and 4 vocalists but they all end up rapping and singing in group songs or more kinda rap/singing if it’s a hip hop song but if it’s straight vocals they’ll split usually. There’s videos of them recording music and producing it. They have this show called in the soop which normally they do a trip every year and film it and it’s called “bon voyage,” but with covid they couldn’t... so they set them up at this house in Korea in between the green mountains and a river or lake... anyway that was supposed to be their vacation kinda thing so they asked what they wanted to do there and it’s all filmed so they painted, fished, played games, ate, drank , had a bonfire but while their they wrote and recorded a song for the theme song of this short 8 episode series... so there’s footage of just them writing the song, recording the guide which is always jungkook and the hook, chorus , harmonies and ad libs you can see what they did and how they do it bc they produce a lot of their own music and have since day one . In case you were interested in hearing them with no microphones or how they’re doing it and what who is doing it’s an easy way to see and hear.. they had to make the track fairly quickly... but yeh that’s there if you want
The one you said who’s range is crazy is jungkook who is the main vocalist so he has the position as the best vocalist but they’re all so much better than they are able to show here. Also the 6:23 part you liked with the rapping harmony is again Jungkook is rapping with suga as the higher note as they walk down the stage towards the camera... he does a lot of harmonies and ad libs lol

All seven members will add adlibs, but it's usually J-Hope, Suga, or RM with the adlibs during the raps. JK used to rap often in their older songs, so he does some adlibs and harmonies with the raps, as well.

I really appreciated your discussion about the ear piece and how V was trying to hear more of his voice. It's something we always see and kind of understand but I liked how you commented on it.
If you actually are there, trust me, the sound is incredible. No video can make it justice. It goes to your heart. You feel everything, every single beat. After each concert I was like drunk in music with a huge smile on my face . I went to both of the wembley concerts (2019). But also the year before at the more intimate one at the england O2 Arena 2018. The live version of their songs is the best, hands down.
So this song live is very loud like this things that you said it all is like that live, like you feel in ground this sounds but it is video from concert and actually one with very good quality, I thing it is from official BTS recording (bc BTS memories are dvd from concert that you can buy) so I think you don't hear this in this video bc it was made to hear better members, even people are not really loud and live are, you lose yours ears.
Hmm they have track behind but they do ad lips live to it depens of songs and energy. They have full tracks, but thier live vocals are louder but it is safety net for one and two when they dance its helps when they need air 😉

Ive seen people be suprised at the lack of backing rap track before, so i assume they dont usually use it, emphasised when lip synvhing claims pushes Suga (probably the most protective member) to just drop a couple lines on purpose to prove theres little to no vocals underneath

It's a combination actually, there are some adlibs and vocals from the rapper and other members (+chorus vocals from producers sometimes) mixed into the track and some of the members would also add adlibs/harmonies live.
I don't think anyone answered your question but when you see them dressed as they are in this video, it's because it's an encore performance. They usually dress more casual or wear their merch during encores, right before the last couple songs. But of course they have stylists and a team that helps put together the extravagant outfits you would normally see them in.

4:48 so right here, i can hear suga doing rm's background, but yeah they do rap over a track that has adlibs and the last few syllables of what theyre rapping... I've watched a LOT of concert behind the scenes videos they do lol
It's them all that do like a send Voice
When they have a dancing performance, they always have some ad-libs (especially if it's their own voice layered on the record) as a backtrack or some words / phrases added to the backtrack which they will sing over. But in this performance, since they don't dance, there was no backtrack. The other layer on rap you heard were just different members 😂
P.S.: don't know if anyone told you that, but this song was composed / written by Ed Sheeran. He really wanted a collab with BTS and gave this track to them as a gift :)
