Just a wild guess here about when they have big harmonies and when they don't but that's what I noticed. They usually have harmonies of more members together when the dance choreo gets complicated or they do something that is "counterproductive" to singing to support the one who is the main vocal at that time as it's easier to make mistakes. They need to think about the live performances as well when producing a new song, not just about how it will sound on a recording.
There are plenty of live shows that you need to watch💜

Oh I love that piece! The use of the mic is brilliant and so funny. When Jin comes in with the high note vs. RM...repeatedly, all I could think of was the sense of humor of the guy that blocked it. The Latin beat was in the mv, just not as apparent.
Latin vibes with BTS are a treat. Love that they incorporated JHope’s Airplane rap and dance segment in this song. He, in particular, is a huge favourite in Latin America (Brazil, Chile, Mexico)... but Jimin’s Filter has a distinct Latin flavour (flamenco?) too... and IMO, JK’s lofi jazz Still with you has hints of Latin as well. Maybe one day, we’ll get a tango number. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Jacob, do you hear the fan chants when you see their live performances. No matter what country they are in everyone knows the fan chant. It’s a very fun part of Kpop. The audience is able to be part of the show.
Also, I believe they use harmonies only if it enhances the song. Just like they don’t worry about every member getting the equal amount of lines in a song but pick the vocals that match the best with the song.

I don't know about how the sound techs work live shows or who all is involved in the planning. I would guess they go for variety and fill the whole show with a range of aural (and visual) experiences. As you know they have some really stripped down instrumental numbers that are heavy on the vocalization. I have to see them live once in my lifetime!

Hey. I have two deep-dive reaction suggestions for you as a songwriter: 1) RM: BE-hind 'Full' Story by BANGTANTV and 2) RM MOTS 7 Behind VLIVE "Namjoon's 7 Behind." These are both rather long, so you may want to break it up or do a Live reaction (or watch it alone). These show RM just talking about BTS albums, his songwriting process, the creative process, and backstories. Namjoon (RM) is fascinating to listen to and his lyrical genius is undisputed. In the VLIVE he rambles a bit because this took place when COVID first hit and he is very upset and somewhat distracted, but still incredibly interesting. I think you would thoroughly enjoy these two videos - and him.

She added an extra show on at the end of the tour, so I got to see her again at the Hammersmith Apollo>
I still have the tour programme - missing one postcard though.

You should react to the lyrics of this song. They do a good job at performing it , that most people forget the actual lyrics. It's pretty cool, and shows you their mindset in performing for passion, and not for the fame.
