Jin always blows me away in this song, the MVP of all the Japanese songs. They’re Japanese songs are usually sang at a higher pitch than their Korean songs. A majority of Japanese songs and JPOP is sang higher
BTS have been touring, performing in Japan since 2015. RM was the first to have the ability to speak Japanese fluently, but then Jimin leaned Japanese so well that he & J-Hope who could also understand and speak, were chosen in 2018 to go to Japan to go on Japanese tv shows to represent BTS & be interviewed while promoting thier new Japanese album at the time! Jimin spoke so well with perfect diction and pronounciation, that a commentator was so impressed that she even commented that he spoke like a native!! But at this point they all can understand and speak pretty well! JK even collabed with a famous Japanese musician to work on this song as well as their newest collab! They are quite successful in Japan breaking all kind of records as the first non-Japanese artist to be charted #1 even!! They are extremely popular and have a huge following there!!
V was the first fluent with RM , cuz his parents used to live there , there is even old videos of him Watching anime without subtitles. Jhope and jimin learned cuz they are just really social ( that's how you learn a language). Meanwhile being shy is a disadvantage which is what jk and suga got. Even tho the past years their pronunciation improved so much. Like in the last song their pronunciation specially jk sounds pretty good. Also Jin tends to always sound good for some reason. Suga used to sound "sexy " and now he sounds " cute " ( I'm talking about their pronunciation on their songs ).

All of them speaks/knows Japanese, but i think V, Jimin, RM, and Jhope are the ones who are fluent in it. When it comes to singing in Japanese tho, Jin and V are the ones who usually stand out. Your point about timbre is a good one. I'm an alto, and don't have to strain to hit any note in this song. Jimin's incredibly bright timbre is why he's classed as a high voice, even though he's a tenor.
It still drives me crazy that you interrupt the flow of a video to pick out small things where you are drawing a parallel to something else, especially when it's something so fuzzy and generic as a three-note sequence. It's as if you have a plate of spaghetti puttanesca in front of you, and you're picking out a few olives to examine, while ignoring the overall flavor, colors, and textures of the dish. In fairness to you, I have watched a lot of reactors over the past eight months or so, maybe fifty different ones, so I've gotten very fine-tuned and impatient about what I like (and don't), and you are probably absorbing and processing the overall flavor, colors, and textures, just not talking about them. In fairness to me, the ground-breaking thing about BTS is the organic quality of the group as a whole, including their work ethic and how they make things mesh as a team. When those things are verbally ignored by a reactor, the reaction feels inauthentic.

Your Eyes Tell is an OST for a Japanese movie, mainly written by Jungkook. He also co-wrote Film Out. So it looks like he has an affinity for the genre (highly emotional ballads that convey the theme of a storyline and empathy for the characters’ POV).
I think it's valid if you says that You're eyes tell has a similarity with Euphoria because Jungkook- the performer of Euphoria is listed as one of the lyricist and composer of You're Eyes Tell
J-ARMY 🇯🇵 is here. Honestly their pronunciation is really great for singing. Conversation.. I don't think any members can speak fluent. But Korean and Japanese have many vocabulary are almost same pronunciation. How do I know they are not speak Japanese fluent? I watched their interview on Japanese TV many many times. I'm also a J-Army As she said members are not fluent in Japanese. It is conversational leve., I think. However, supringly their singing pronounceations are perfect!! in case of hopi, his speaking prononciation is also so natural!!

I believe ARMY doesn't always know the definition of fluency. People think even speaking memorized lines with proper pronunciation is fluency. Just like some ARMY give BTS 4 extra full-time jobs (insisting they write, produce, compose, and choreograph all their songs without any assistance) they also inflate BTS's language skills. It comes from pride in their amazing talents, of course, but it can make ARMY look less discerning and clouded by bias - thereby calling into question BTS's real accomplishments. Also, can you imagine how much pressure it makes the members feel to be put on such a high pedestal?
It is good to hear from a native speaker of Japanese who can give a true account.

this song is the ost for the Japanese film of the same title 'your eyes tell' and Jungkook co-wrote and composed this song with perfect distribution of lines for each member. this was supposed to be a draft that jungkook sent to the production company as a side track but they loved the song so much, they decided to use it for the ost!

According to Japanese media and notizens, Jungkook's Japanese pronunciation is the best. Plus K-Media and K-Netizens also praise Jungkook's Japanese and his pronounciation. Your Eyes Tell is written and composed by Jungkook originally for his mixtape.

This song is just so beautiful and showcases each member voices amazingly. JK wrote and composed this for his own mixtape but divine intervention struck and it was chosen for a Japan movie OST. One thing he did say is that he raised the key for Jimin's high note but seriously, all the members shine.

They speak some Japanese, some of them more than others similar to their English skills. If I remember correctly they read both better than they speak. Korean schools have vigorous academic requirements especially compared to American schools and languages (English, Japanese, Chinese) play a big part in the educational system. The K-pop industry emphasizes Japanese so that their artists can compete in the Japanese market. The Japanese fans want songs/albums in Japanese and it is a lucrative market.

Answer your question, according to many comments from Japanese ARMYs, RM, JHope & Jimin are the one who speaks fluent Japanese.
They said especially JHope & Jimin has great pronunciation.
Maybe that is why Jimin & Jhope were often invited as their guest on Japanese shows.
Of course other BTS members do speak some Japanese but not quite fluently.

Namjoon is fluent in English and Japanese. I would say Jimin is also pretty fluent in Japanese. Then also all members know Japanese very well (Yoongi probably knows the least Japanese), but English is like... School English level. Some members also try to learn more of the English. Also, some understand what is said but it's hard for them to speak themselves (like Yoongi and Jin). Jungkook has recently been studying English a lot. For songs, they definitely work with experts to practice for the best pronunciation (except for Joon of course).

There are always many writers. Not just one. Jhope rm and suga write their own. The songs too have more than one producer.

@@illlila551 being on mixtape doesnt mean it was complete there or that it was transferred in its original form with no changes and additions to give the finished product that we have now.. Song was produced by DJ Swivel. Written by half a dozen people including DJ Swivel himself, RM, Etc. Google it.
In fact Jacob has done the reaction to the Making of Euphoria.
They've released many Japanese studio albums and EPs/mini albums. Some of their songs are original Japanese compositions and not even recorded in a Korean version. I would assume they speak it, could have been a school subject for them.
All K-Pop Idols are required to learn Japanese and Chinese during their trainee days and following their debut time also. During their tour Concerts, they used to learn few words from the respective local language!

Vicky W it was always since debut V and RM. RM cu he is RM lol and V cuz his parents with his younger siblings used to live there. Meanwhile jhope and jimin weren't that good but jhope is the kind of person that doesn't get shy when he talks another language that he barely knows he become one of the best ( that's how you learn a language, you can see older videos on backstage in Japan of jhope trying to talk with the staff that were Japanese ) and for jimin I guess is the same but he still kind of shy. Jin has one of the best pronunciation while singing but I don't know his level since I don't if he can read well or not. Jk pronunciation has improved a lot, again I don't know how good he can read since the lyrics of you eyes tell were in Korean and then got translated. Suga is suga lol when it comes to languages with him you never know. Suga in the beginning got a lot popularity in Japan cuz the way he pronounced on the songs his Japanese ( like it was "sexy" lol). Like those anime guys , even the members made fun of him.But he said he doesn't know but also he is just really shy just like in English. Then things happened and his popularity decreased cuz something that some haters did , now with the new songs his pronunciation sounds "cute " . So he is kind of getting some fans again lol. So yeah, it's RM, V , jhope , jimin , Jin , jk and suga , but for film out their pronunciation was so good from everyone specially jk improved the most for me.

This song is from Map of the Soul: Journey. It is a Japanese album. It contains many Japenes versions of their songs. It is said that all Big Hit trainees take lessons in Japanese because it is and has been a large fan base. So in answer to your question they all sing in Japanese and not just for this album.

I have heard them all speak Japanese pretty well, but a co-worker of mine says that you can tell they are not fluent ( she's Japanese and fluent). She says that J-Hope seems the most comfortable with it.

Korea was once colonized by Japane.The Japanese language was integrated as school subject.Thats why koreans are fluent in speaking japanese like a second language.
Korean idols promote in Japan so yeah, they gotta learn Japanese. They promote in Japan as Japan is the 2nd largest music industry after US. SK music market is too small for the oversaturated idol industry.
