the one thing that frustrated me about Braylon was that he would catch passes he shouldn't have caught, but drop the passes he should've caught! Loved him, but definitely frustrated me.
Never will forget the MSU comeback when Henne found him for 3 TDs in about 3 mins. What he had, beyond speed and pretty good hands, was his DESIRE for the ball ...if you went up against him, you were taking HIS football. He didn't like that...
When we went down 17 or whatever it was, my dad said “I guess we are going to the Outback Bowl.” I told him we need to throw the ball deep to Braylon and hope for the best. One of my favorite football memories.
Say what you want about Chad Henne but as soon as his clips started the difference between a good college QB and an NFL caliber QB was pretty clear lol
I forgot how decent Navarre was. Edwards is my all-time favorite WR a Michigan. Dude was unstoppable! That game against State was insane. They play that game a lot on Classic and Big Ten Rewind. Devastating his NFL career didn’t pan out. He would’ve had a way better career if he didn’t get drafted by the Browns, in my opinion. He had that breakout Pro Bowl season in ‘07 and didn’t really do much after that. Then getting shipped to San Fran for a year didn’t do him any good either. And two tours playing for the Jets he didn’t produce much. He’s definitely one of the most overlooked receivers in college football history.
Great compilation video. One of the best I've ever watched. Thanks for NOT inserting music and including the replays and original commentary. Do more of these! You're good at it.
Mark G. Of course Desmond, goes without saying he was unreal as a pass catcher AND returner. As far as big-bodied guys that can just blow the top open and jump, these two were in their own league. Manningham was like AC and Braylon as well.
I know a lot of fans focus on the negative aspects (drops) but clearly one of the best offensive weapons to ever step foot on campus. His combination of size, speed and body control made him an elite WR in college football. One of my favorite players to watch at Michigan.
He actually only really had a problem with the drops his first couple yrs at Michigan, his hands during his Jr and Sr seasons were some of the best ive ever seen. Sadly he started having drops again in his fourth yr in Cleveland, which got progressively worse and worse as his career went on. It sucks that he's largely known for his drops rather than the unstoppable threat that he was at Michigan and his first few years with the Browns.
@@austinburrow2843 Yes, i'd take him over those guys as well. The guy put up numbers as good or almost as good as those guys you mentioned, while also being on a team that threw quite a bit to future pros like Breaston and Avant, along with Massaquoi at TE, Perry who had 40-somethin catches outa the backfield, or then Mike Hart during Braylon's final year. Add to that the fact that Carr's offense was pretty damn conservative and run-heavy, (nothin nearly as idiotically conservative and predictable as Harbaugh's has been, but still pretty damn bad). Moss, never would go across the middle in the pros and didn't do it a whole lot at Marshall either! Overall while at Michigan, i honestly can't say Jones nor Megatron were any better than Braylon was!
I am older then braylon by two years and every time I c him at little brown jug he still remembers me third greatest offensive Michigan player ever and as far as the Henne and hart era they were great kids but to soft never beat o state losers in my eyes
Drew henson quit....John Navararre was above average. And his senior year he had. Of course are best qb ever in Henne who only had BE for his freshman season. They recruited well they just didnt have a intellegent QB
Yeah I really forgot how dirty he was. He is vicious in this video. I am convinced he would have done this in any conference as well. An incredible college football player
If only he wasn't drafted to Cleveland. If he had Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Tony romo, Donovan McNabb, drew brees, Phillip Rivers or Aaron Rodgers as a qb, then he would have been a hall of famer forsure. He made Mark Sanchez look good & took them to 2 AFC championships. How many playoff appearances have the Jets had since they released Edwards?
You have to love his second one against MSU from 03 at the 5:39 mark. I remember screaming when that play originally happened because I thought it was intercepted.
Braylon I don't know your DAD but met him one time at a game before he played and said Hi ! He was such a class Act! I knew he was a great man! I loved your Dad more than u brother! lol! U should be proud of your Dad and Mom!! I said Hi to him once in the stadium and he didn't know me from the man n the moon but I knew stanley wa a good MAN! Just some white dude that knows what it means to work hard!!
That Michigan st game is what I think of when I think of Braylon Edwards at Michigan. That was tied for me for the best game I have ever seen a Michigan wr have. The only one that rivals it is David Terrell’s orange bowl.
watch out for Terrance Robinson a kid dat was recuited last year n was red shirt dis year so watch out for him to give Martavious Odoms run for the slot WR
@uberdude123456789 Pam Ward. I know its been posted already, but it's worth mentioning she is one of the few actually really knowledgeable female football announcers.
@goddfather84 I judge people the same way. Where did I ever say I met him at an autograph signing? Never, that's what I thought. And honestly, when delivering pizza, you really expect everyone to be on their best behavior and have the best attitude when they are grabbing their food? No.
Ya kno, Odoms is a good WR ya kno but if u look at some of his catches they were screens n not to stay braylon didnt get screen passes but i dont think each n er play he got one n braylon edwards was big part of da O da year 04 as u can see Henne struggled da next year wit out braylon jus a thought but GO BLUE!!!
odoms is good but he needs to focus more and quit making simple-minded mistakes and he can be an okay guy. mathewa and hemingway are our studs for sure
@goddfather84 Butthurt? Really? Wow. Anyways, it is definitely no argument that Hart is a class act. It was just a disagreement that we have both obviously had very different interactions with him. You are the one beginning to sound a little "butthurt" as you would say.
We need a true #1 again so badly
One of the greatest WR to wear the maize n blue! Go Blue!!!
Texas fan here, I remember when we played yall in the rose bowl and this dude braylon Edwards was a beast
That was a special game I wish someone would post it.
not as big of a beast as Vince Young
Texas couldn't touch Braylon in that Rose Bowl. I was able to find the entire game recently on YT.
@@martinrheaume5393 if he had VY throwing him the ball... Ohio State would've been treated like a D2 school.
Really I would have thought you would have mentioned steve breaston the guy had almost three hundred yards of offense on that game
the one thing that frustrated me about Braylon was that he would catch passes he shouldn't have caught, but drop the passes he should've caught! Loved him, but definitely frustrated me.
You ain't the only 1 lol
Yep. Although he was much better about that in his final year.
Got even worse in the NFL. Especially in Cleveland.
@@thegamingchef3304 yeah had 15 touchdowns and I think like 12 drops in the same season in 07
Almost like he would be pissed he was so wide open so he dropped it.

Thanks, I hope someone can dominate like Braylon did, he was awesome.
Great compilation video. One of the best I've ever watched.
Thanks for NOT inserting music and including the replays and original commentary.
Do more of these! You're good at it.
This guy was a true beast! Hasn't done AS great in the NFL but he's still got time to show his talent.
Surprised not to see no Rose Bowl highlights from vs USC & especially his 10 catch 3 tds vs Texas in his final college game
We miss you now more than ever Braylon
Good Video!!!!! My Favorite Michigan player of all time
Next to AC, the best Michigan wideout ever
Don't forget about Desmond Howard, he won the Heisman.

Man John Navarre could sling it. That throw into double coverage is insane. What an era to be a UM fan.
John Navarre was throwin some Dimes!!
Boy was a beast for UM 🤟🏼 watched him as a kid
John Navarre, Chris perry and Braylon edwards were my childhood football heroes. Then it was henne, Hart and manningham.
Well yeah he was sick where were you, braylon was one of the sickest recievers in all of college football, unlimited ability
Found a way to drop the easy ones along. Thanks for that 4th down drop against osu 2004.
He was the best WR, to go get the ball, I've ever seen.
Calvin Johnson ? Randy Moss? Julio?

I think we have a Braylon clone right now in DPJ! #VictorsValiant
Eddie Kane, Jr.confirmed.
And thats where you put the crack pipe down dpj was a bust. Collins is a way better receiver
DPJ trash
Eddie Brown I think Braylon had way better QB play than DPJ received. That played a huge role in his underwhelming career.

I wasn't a big Navarre fan, but at least he beat OSU once in his career (I'm looking at you, Mr. Henne)
Love the slant!
#31 from Michigan State still having nightmares about him.
Michigan State and Penn St. were very happy when BE left for the NFL.
Braylon Edwards, that name has a ring to it like Freakazoid. That's a good thing. A very good thing

That game against MSU was unreal. It was a good time on campus after that win :)
Also, what ever happened to John Navarre?
Backup qb in the nfl for several years

What's the single-season record for Michigan TD passes by a QB? I'm sure Braylon contributed to that.
I believe it is.

I'm from Saginaw, Mi and while that game is in my top I have to say the 2006 Rose Bowl Vince Young win has to top my all time favorite games.

That's cool i thought he only did Nascar
hes like my favorite michigan player of all time besides mike hart
Is that jerry punch calling the mich/indiana game?
with the spead office that rod is running its hard to pick one good wide out, because you never no what kind of talent your looking at
You can't have an edwards tribute without at least ONE drop! give us the rose bowl drop vs usc that ended all chances for a michigan w in that one...
@bringinMOruckus
Care to explain that statement?
I know we lost it, but his Rose Bowl performance should've been in there anyway.
Nice to see Braylon actually catching some balls! lol
