@@22424 I can imagine it and it would become a community of harmony. Do I believe its possible? No, because the universe is made of good and evil. The best I can do is be vigilant of evil people and the good and evil within me. I then work on myself by researching different ways or methods and developing myself as a person. But I'm not perfect and I am at times guilty of the same things I see other people do wrong.
What I don't understand about Katie, and these examples is this ... These people are identifying themselves as ego, and taking that as real, as they investigate different events in their lives. I can see how having a more positive belief system opens that knot a little, but it's still a knot ... it's just psychotherapy. Why not question the identification with an image of yourself first, and put that one to rest? Is that true? Then you can see your thoughts as thoughts, rather than as realities ... right away ... one shot. Everything seems to hinge on that one discovery, and without it, there "you" are with a lot of "work" to do, bragging about how Katie helped "you", and yet feeling burdened by the fact that "you" still have a long way to go. Would you rather solve one problem, or the 100,000 problems that stem from that one mistake? This is what I'd like to hear her address.
Many people are not ready for that step and want to live in the world as a "happy ego". Byron does an amazing job with that people. If they are not interested in spirituality and self enquiry and just want to solve one step and stay there its their choice to do it, and to find amazing guides like her to assist them in that level is of great help. I am sure she is much higher on the stairs of ego dissolution, but that process can't be walked for others. She is compassionate and helpful, and its amazing that in ANY step of the ladder you are on, you will find someone extending a hand to you
Are you saying the first and only question you need to ask is why are you identifying with the beliefs and stories that is the image called you? Is that image true?
I was just thinking something along those lines. People aren't meditative throughout and often get lost in the process, yet both BK and the person in 'her parlour' keep going. It does seem a bit odd to me that this isn't addressed. I think addressing this somehow might be tricky as they're all doing their best, and it's a hell of a lot more than I could probably do onstage like this; I'd probably lose my shit.
The kill switch approach does not work within systems that are tightly knit and rely on the "ecosystem" to function. The "ego" has characteristics that are both good and bad, vital or vestigial, you cannot just shut it off and expect to proceed business as usual
Probably not. But one day when she/he is ready it could help them heal the trauma. We can’t be ready ahead of time. But maybe when the grown ups around or the therapist are woke enough they could lead by example and just be there and listening. That’s also very healing I‘d say 🌺
